“Went last night for the soft opening and was very impressed from start to finish. The bartender, Chi, was personable and very attentive and we enjoyed various foods that were all top notch and some nice wine. Other staff who are coming and going were also very nice and you would never have known it was their first night. I worked in various aspects of the restaurant business for 15 years and have been to various soft openings, and these guys did a fantastic job. The owner Jay came by and chatted with us to make sure everything was going well and you can tell he really cares about everything. Pak Soii is a very welcome addition to Del Ray Alexandria and I can't wait to go back.“

“First of all - I absolutely love the sushi here. It’s one of the best spots in Old Town. Super fresh fish and creative rolls. The miso soup and salad are always great too. And don’t skip on the appetizers - gyoza, shumai and hamachi Kama are so so good. However, the service is always a little slow and the vibe/decor is just kinda eh and just a little…cold? Not very warm/welcoming. I stick to takeout usually and again, the sushi is top notch.“

“This is one of the best Japanese steakhouses I have ever been to. I have been to a handful but this place has always been my home. I have been coming to this place since I was a child and before the new owners. It has yet to disappoint me with anything. Atmosphere is always great and the food is even better. I miss Kawasaki because he would do the craziest things like throw an onion from across the room for a free meal (which I caught) some of the best memories of mine have come from here. I 100% suggest if you haven’t had hibachi before.

“Been hooked to this resto since 2022. Been all over the US, from California, Texas, Colorado, Georgia etcc… and this is far the most fresh, and best tasting sushi we have ever gone. We always order the redbull roll and never gone wrong! We also order toro ( fatty tuna) sashimi because it just melt on the tongue like butter. It’s so fresh! The marbling on their Toro is majestic! I tried to look and eat for the same roll from other resto, and no one has beat kumo. The staff are always polite, kind, and energetic. If you’re ever in DMV, this is a must place to eat!“

“I've been coming here for a year or more. I usually order out but on occasion eat in. I appreciate that they offer 10% off for online orders and are courteous when dining in. I also love being able to alter rolls ordered to my preference.“

“Food is great, but the Thai tea is NOT a normal thai tea. They use a powder instead of actual thai tea and milk. So it has a totally different flavor. Only reason I’m still leaving a good review is because they were very kind and willing to give a refund or exchange the drink for something else. 🙏🏽👍🏽 We exchanged it for a mango slushie and although it was equally as gross tasting (mega artificial flavoring) the customer service was great.“
