“This was my first time and I went with a friend of mine visiting from Philly. We went for brunch or early lunch. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Food arrived fast and tasted absolutely delicious. I had the seared shrimp tacos, moist and tasty-yum, my friend had the market fish sandwich for that day, he absolutely loved it and he doesn't usually eat fish lol.“

Sooooo great!!!!! Has only improved since we had to move. New setup is incredible and drinks have surpassed the original menus leaps and bounds! GO HERE!

Sets the bar by which we measure all cocktails. Never disappointed, each menu always multiple amazing options. I can count on my hands the number of times i have got a cocktail someplace else and NOT been totally disappointed in comparison.

Ambience is brilliant, lively but not too loyd. Brilliant date night. Service is always wonderful and light bites are incredible.

Brussel sprouts are the best around and the pork belly is beyond amazing.“

“Evening Star is always a nice option I treat myself to every couple of months. Service can be off sometimes, but the food is always above average in tastiness, freshness, and affordability compared to the other restaurants in Old Town/Del Ray. Something for everyone when it comes to options.“

“The Evening Star is a jewel of a neighborhood restaurant, with delicious offerings. You can choose to sit inside where it is lively and festive, sit outside on the Front Porch, which allows you to take in the vibe and thrum of Del Ray, or in the back where you can dine outside as if you were grilling at home. The menu changes seasonally and the bar is skillful and inventive with their offerings. Our server was excellent. He was knowledgeable, attentive without hovering and well-versed in the menu and wine and beer selections. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely evening out.“

“We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at 219. The window seat they reserved for us was great! The food was delicious, especially the she crab soup and shrimp and grits. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. All in all a great experience and we will be back!“

“The location is at the end of King Street along the Potomac River....the surrounding area was very busy and active since they closed down the last 2blocks of King Street which creates a great pedestrian area as you approach the restaurant. We had a table in the outdoor covered dining area that was very nice and overlooking the water. They have outdoor heaters for cooler weather. The oysters were great as were the crab balls and crab dip appetizers. I had the fish special that was Florida Grouper over a bed of veggies that was outstanding!! Great experience and not too pricey..... Lastly, our server SOFIA was fantastic and attentive! Highly recommend!!“

“Came with 3 friends to celebrate my birthday early on 3/29/25. Service was definitely very slow, but our server was lovely and we used the time to talk. Also, they extended my reservation 30 minutes without complaint when we were running late. The best part was the food. I couldn't find fault with one meal. Everyone's food was delicious. That steak might've been the best I've ever tasted; the salmon dinner, jambalaya meal; fried oysters; wings - all outstanding. Then we went upstairs to try to listen to some music, but it is a smaller space than I remembered from the single other time I came in 2022. It wasn't comfortable for us, so we went to the basement to listen to the DJ play a little millennial hip hop, and that was a perfect cap to our night. I definitely recommend.“
