“Pound for pound, Crushpad can go up against the best wine bars in the world. The service, selection, location, pricing, decor, and atmosphere are all on point. Keep up the good work Crushpad!

Because of the reps I've put in at Crushpad, I've been able to comfortably navigate wine bars from Florence to Paris. Wine can be intimidating, but Crushpad is there to hold your hand and give you the experience needed to navigate fine wine with comfort and confidence so you don't look or feel like a tourist when you're abroad - granted, I will always look like a tourist, but that is besides the point...

This place is 5-stars before you consider their special dinners, distributor tastings, or incredible regional wine tasting events. As a local, I do find myself going here more for the special events, but I think that is because I'd be here every night if I didn't set up some sort of personal boundaries.

Notice - Yes there is a $15 corkage fee per bottle. This may feel like nickel-and-diming, but it is a heck of a lot better than the alternative to charge you the typical 300% markup. Go explore some amazing wines that are specifically curated by a knowledgable staff. If you think it is a 'bad deal' look up the prices per bottle at any other restaurant and I'm confident you'd realize that you're actually sitting in a very special place that is actually trying to take care of you, not swindle you.

Their bathroom has dope wallpaper. I'm not sure if its a thing about bathrooms at wine bars flexing on each other by how cool and over there top bathrooms are decorated, but its a vibe and I'm here for it.“

“Highly recommend this restaurant! The house salad was the best salad I’d ever had. The cocktails are wonderful; the tender even accommodated my special request. The entrees were sumptuous; we got the Italian sausage pasta and the salmon. We travel through Charlottesville twice a year and dine here on our way up and back each year. It’s my favorite part of our trip. Service is excellent.“

“I never get food but the drinks are always really good! I love coming here on the weekends to study. It never gets too crowded and there’s a ton of seating. The only time it may get a little tough is when the extra space is closed off for privare events.

Note: They use Grit coffee beans for all their drinks (which is great).“

“If you're a wine nerd this is your Shangri-la! We had a great visit at Tastings while in Charlottesville for the weekend. Bill is an excellent proprietor. The selection of wines and vintages were awesome to sort through, and we had some great conversations with Bill and other customers while we were there. The shop makes you feel like you're hunting for buried treasure, and we definitely found some awesome vintaged wines. I can't wait to come back for my next visit!“

“I recently had the BEST SALAD of my life at Bizou (the roasted beet, mango + goat cheese salad!) It was a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon in summer, sitting in the lovely shade of a patio umbrella, a chilled glass of Virginia-made Rose wine…. A quintessential Charlottesville experience. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend!“

“Randy is a man of many talents, among them making guests feel comfortable and ensuring a good time is had by all. A master of beverages - we enjoyed several special drinks he suggested - and a skilled photographer. The dark turkey, dressing and gravy were superb ... as well as the brussel sprouts salad! Also, the collards were very tasty. There was a variety of desserts - the apple tart was delicious as were the mini fruit tarts. Thank you for a delightful holiday meal!“
