“Clifton Cafe is our new favorite evening spot on the weekends. We’ve been customers since the original owners opened it years ago, but until this past fall we did more to go orders than dine in since the service and time to prep food was often slow and unpredictable. Now we go almost every week. We’ve noticed big improvements since they expanded their kitchen and redesigned the bar area. Their new pull up bar is beautiful and spacious. The new owners and management are great too! We love the evening staff as well, especially Ian and Nicole. They are very personable, accommodating, and attentive. They have great happy hour specials from 3-6 and make the best margaritas and espresso martinis. Some of our favorite dinner items include the crab dip, Mediterranean salad, cuban sandwich, burgers, crab cakes, quiche specials, banana pudding, and too many crepes to name! We also appreciate that they have become more family friendly. We had a last minute party of 14 on a Friday evening (half of which were children ages 1-11) and they didn’t hesitate to pull some tables together in a private nook to accommodate our large group (again thanks to Ian and Nicole). We noticed they finally got a changing table in the large bathroom, which they are about to install. Our kids are past that stage, but there were several times when they were little that a changing table would have been helpful.“

“My mom and I had found this place by accident, but it was the best find. I like to call it a hidden gem, it’s not real noticeable as it sits in a plaza, but the restaurant is so cute and quaint, the food is fresh and the quality is top notch; the service is second to none; you really can’t ask for anything better. This place is everything that you are looking for and more.

I most recently had their honey shrimp with the spicy level, and my gosh it was so good. I’m talking about eyes rolling in the back of your head good. “A friend and I meet at Theisman's restaurant for lunch quite often. I live in Alexandria and she lives in Warrenton so it's a great middle point. We both love the food and the hostesses and waitstaff are excellent. The atmosphere is nice.. the reason I gave it 4 stars is that the music in there was so loud. We decided to sit on the porch thinking it would be quieter and it was such a beautiful day... unfortunately the music was extremely loud out there too and seemed to increase in volume as we were out there for about 2 hours. I noticed a few other people were saying that it was so loud too. We should have said something to the hostess but we had not seen each other in awhile. “Came here for my anniversary and had great sushi! The ambient lighting was amazing and the food was even better! Sushi Cho is always my go-to when I want elevated sushi with a comforting environment!

We got the sushi & sashimi combo and 2 of their speciality rolls, which is my favorite part of the menu! The scallop burst was a great amount of spice to break up the fish, and the triple match roll was one of my favorite bites the whole night!“

It's quite the drive for our family, but it is the best priced ice cream we've found and the variety of rotating hand scoop ice creams is fantastic. The flight of 4 cost 7.50, and I feel that's fair for the variety and amount of ice cream you get. The butter pecan was incredible and we also loved the cheesecake. The soft serve was generously portion for a small and my children were delighted with it. The fudge ripple was the clear winner on the soft serve front. We will definitely be returning and recommend it to everyone who's out towards Manassas.“

It makes me think those preparing the menu may be arrogant to believe that price means nothing to patrons. Price matters. Are foods and drinks priced too high to be transparent? Are all patrons so well off that price to them really does not matter? I will sometimes pass over a place if they hide their prices, just because there are so many others that do not hide them. “My husband and I love Lil' Bowl. Tonight I decided to surprise my husband with a bento bowl which he has never had. They were so good. There was so much food, we had leftovers for tomorrow. Yum! I had the Pad Thai...very good. My husband had the chicken fried rice, and we both really enjoyed our Bento Boxes. We also really enjoyed the mango sticky rice for our dessert. If you like Thai and Japanese cuisine, you have to try Lil' Bowl. We highly recommend it.“

Having grown up in San Diego, we have been searching for an authentic, family restaurant experience for a long while since moving up the DC area. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. Service was spot on. Food was on point. We can't recommend this place enough. The birria tacos and quesadilla were fantastic. My brother also tried their lingua and loved it. Also, their fresh guacamole... I haven't had guacamole this good since I left California 23 years ago.“

“We enjoyed the onion pancake. It's a blown up ball. Very interesting to try. Just flour cooked until it becomes a big hollow ball the size of a small volleyball. The braised potbelly with tea egg looked awesome but was just okay....Not salted enough and the flavor is lacking. The pork belly meat itself was dry. The beef tenderloin lacks flavor and is drenched in a brown sauce, not very authentic Chinese. Pricey for what it is. I would not recommend this plate. We also had the salt pepper shrimp which was very good. We had the pickle chili flounder fish pot. It came with clear noodles and tofu. It was tasty and light in flavor. We got shrimp dumplings, it was perfect texture and consistency and flavor For dessert we got the sweet fermented sweet rice and the glutinous rice cake with brown sugar. Both were interesting. I liked the sweet fermented rice. They make a really good passion fruit green tea with mango jelly. Probably the best I have had.
We came back and ordered the combination fried rice which was not on the menu but something they make. It was delicious. The beef Chow Fun which is the white rice flat noodle with brown sauce. It was delicious. We also ordered the crispy fried pork belly. That was slightly spicy and was tasty but fatty as well. It was nicely done but tasted fatty after a few bites. Dim sum here is delicious. Peking duck is good.

The beef tenderloin over broccoli is essentially a classic beef-and-broccoli Chinese dish. The beef was high quality and flavorful, with plenty of sliced charred garlic—simple and satisfying.
What really stood out, though, was the beef brisket noodle soup. We recommend ordering it spicy if you enjoy a kick. It features a mix of clear noodles and rice noodles, adding great texture. Having tried beef brisket noodle soup at many restaurants in Fairfax, this one is definitely a top recommendation.“

I tried the chicken shawarma and garlic butter chicken — the shawarma wasn’t really spicy to me, more of a sour/pickled flavor, but the garlic butter chicken was delicious. “I’ve been coming to this location pretty much every weekend for the last 3 years and realized I’ve never actually left a review! They have another location that is bigger than this one, but honestly, this one is the better spot for food, service, and the overall vibe. I actually live closer to the Falls Church location but still make the drive here because the staff are always super friendly and the experience is consistently good. On Fridays and Saturday, it can get a little busy a hectic but the wait usually isn’t too bad, maybe around like 10–15 minutes. My order has always come out right and the food tastes fresh and delicious every time I’ve been here.

The place itself is clean, condiments are always stocked, and there’s a really nice mural on the wall that gives it a cozy feel. Nice music playing most of the time I come and seating is a little tight but it’s comfortable. Every time I come in,I’m greeted right away and the staff have been the same since I first started coming so they know what they’re doing. If there ever is an issue, they’re quick to fix it. If you have any allergies or food restrictions, they are pretty accommodating to requests so that is something to consider.

“I am quite literally at CAFEIN almost every day. I am a regular at Chantilly location. My partner is a regular at Centreville location. Most workers know both of us separately. I want to start off by saying CAFEIN has hands down the BEST coffee in all of DMV. Nothing compares. I can tell when a business is using CAFEIN beans. That’s how good and unique and high quality it is, there is a reason I’m there every day, and MOST workers are sweet, kind, and amazing. Truly. Every interaction has been nothing short of top tier customer service EXCEPT for one singular person who has repeatedly been rude. At this point CAFEIN needs to step in and discuss this persons behavior and if they want to be associated and represented in this way.

I think this person is a manager at the Chantilly location. She is an Asian female, and unfortunately she has made a terrible reputation for herself as being the rude worker here, trust me she’s known for that for anybody who goes to This location. Firstly I don’t understand the 3pm closing time, but second if a business says 3pm closing time, that doesn’t mean 2:55pm. That means you TAKE ORDERS TILL 3pm. That’s how all businesses work. If your hours are REALLY till 2:45pm then set your business hours officially to that time. This woman has repeatedly rudely spoken to customers, including myself to get them out of the store as it nears 3pm. She comes around and interrupts conversations to make sure they know when to leave. She doesn’t take orders sometimes when it’s nearing 3pm. She shuts off online orders too, to avoid anybody coming in before closing. She isn’t nice about it either, she’s rude in how she speaks to customers.
Today I walk in, a small family with one child walks in front of me, and at 2:58pm (I know it was end of day and that’s my bad) but she immediately says WE CLOSE AT 3PM, and turns everybody away. The small child says but it’s not 3! And frowns as we all walk out. I look forward to my coffee as one of the best parts of my day and truly think CAFEIN is amazing but this one manager is just so rude. Just change your hours if you don’t actually take orders before 3pm, if you don’t plan on getting rid of this rude woman. Everybody at Centreville location is so nice to my partner he is met with being treated with familiarity and inclusivity as somebody who’s a regular. He was on the phone with me when I walked in today & was shocked they turned me away before 3. This was not the first time btw there was one or two times in the past I had even called in & said hey I placed a pickup order and my eta was 3pm on the dot and I have pulled up & had the door locked on me or still been met with WE ARE CLOSED rudely by solely only her. She needs an attitude check. Maybe she doesn’t belong in a coffee shop where you need to have a friendly personality.“
