“I had an amazing experience at this Chinese restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out piping hot. Every dish was seasoned especially the sesame chicken which was easily the best I’ve ever had. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality.“

“The steamed dumplings one of my favorite dumplings. You can tell it's a family recipe and their custom dumpling sauce is addictive.

Even though I moved away from the restaurant a while ago. I'll order two sets of dumplings for myself and a third one to play distraction so no one knows I have two sets of secret dumplings to keep all to myself.

They still taste just as amazing from when I tried them in 2014 to present day“

“This is the best Asian buffet I've ever been to. I could say probably after 30 years, most are kind of dingy and the food always seems not kept fresh on the hot bar. This place, everything looks fresh, they are regularly changing out food and refreshing the pans. Excellent Chinese restaurant. “Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted great! I never leave reviews but the customer before me made me feel it was necessary. A customer came up before me asking for a refund saying her food was cold and didn’t have great flavor. The manager asked to see the food and the customer said she had already finished all of it… I’m sorry but people can really suck haha glad to see she was not given a refund. ?“

“Any other day I would give 5's across the board. 12/30/24 2:55pm. Went in and ordered lunch special. After waiting and watching people come and go they looked at me and asked what I was waiting for. Apparently they forgot my order. I was there 25 mins before I received my order. The normal young lady that's always there wasn't there. After my food got ready I got a thank you. No apologies. Will still visit because this is one of my favorite places. If I don't see the young lady I will pass.“

“When I want Chinese food this is my go to spot. They don't use those itty bitty salad shrimp in their shrimp fried rice and the food is always tasty and never too dry or too greasy. I got a platter of dumplings half fried, half steamed and a platter of their vegetable spring rolls and it was a hit with my guests. People were surprised when I told them where I got them.“

“Fried rice is delicious. Crab Rangoons are amazing too. They load it up with crab meat and not a lot of places do that anymore. I got the garlic chicken which is spicy, but again, not a lot of places make it spicy enough. They did make it spicy! And it was delicious! Definitely coming back and getting more.“

“idk what some of these reviews are complaining about, this is my go to Chinese spot. They always have excellent service,very fast. I call 10-15 minutes out, and ive never had to wait! The chicken cuts are always great, clean cuts, rare do i find fat or gristle or anything i dont like. The Thai and Hibachi options are very awesome as well. Portions and price, always fair, only thing is the dining area is usually closed or very limited. No biggie as i do takeout! Love this place!“

I've tried a couple other spots in the area for lunch breaks. My coworkers and I keep coming back to China Star in Petersburg. Some of the best Chinese food we've had in years. ????“

“I ordered the vegetable chow mei fun. It was kind of dry but i could handle that. My problem was, very little vegetables. I only saw 1 strip of onion, small strips of carrots, and very little baby broccoli florets. I asked for the vegetable mei fun so i would have enough vegetables. I literally had to search for the vegetables. I feel cheated and disappointed. I Don't mean to complain, but i think you should be more conscious of this type thing. I really wanted my vegetables.

Vegetarian options: Provide an adequate amount of vegetables as selected.

Dietary restrictions: Its important for some of us to get our fair share of vegetables as selected. Dietary requirement.“

“I ordered out, so I didn't rate the service or atmosphere. When I looked up Chinese food places, this one came up highly rated. I can vouch for that! While I was waiting for them to prepare my lunch, people were constantly streaming in. I can understand why. The food tasted great, was fairly priced, and I was on my way in no time . When driving through for a work trip, I needed somewhere to stop for lunch. Looked up hibachi places and thought about skipping this one, but give it a shot hoping the food was really good. I was not let down.

Interior is as you’d expect.
Service was frequently and fast.
Did was plenty and plenty good.

All in all, I’d say this is a goldilocks kind of spot - Just Right.

Had the luncheon special Kung Pao chicken. Filling and full of flavor. Wasn't that spicy, so be adventurous and try it. Lunch comes with soup or egg roll / steamed or fried rice.“
