“Nice evening ambiance. Very clean restaurant. The food was great, so was the service. We happened to have two waiters serving us, very plaisant. It looks like a team effort. We liked that ?. The food came on time. we went with the safest dish, ? Chicken Tikka Massala, milld for sure. Really enjoyed our dinner. Although there was one tall guy, not sure about his role. He was the odd one, ? . He came to our table maybe twice, did not like his energy, he was just a bit off, kind of rudish. But we did not let him ruin our night.“

“They recently added a whole vegan section to their menu. We got 3 of the dishes and they were all so delicious! The eggplant was AMAZING, so definitely get that. The server made a point to ask each person if they needed vegan rice or not, as their regular rice is made with heavy cream, and also asked if there were any food allergies at the table. Reasonably priced for sharing food, and you’ll want to get a bit of everything. The crackling spinach has such a unique tamarind flavor, it is a must try.

“I dined there third day after opening about a year ago. I knew they were going to make it - absolutely delicious food from recipes from the mother of the owners - it is well attended at dinner time, they don't take reservations. Excellent service, price and great food.“

“I just ordered Oh! Naan for the first time and I am very impressed! The chicken masala (medium spice) was delicious. The spice level was spot on and the overall flavor was fantastic. The chicken pieces were all tinder and the portion was very large. I also had garlic naan (which I got buy one get one free). It was soft and warm with the perfect amount of garlic and butter.

I ordered the food on an app for pick up so I can’t speak to the atmosphere, but the food was ready quickly, packaged well, and the ladies who helped me during pick up were very friendly. The food was still very warm and fresh even after my ten minute walk home.

“We had a great experience at Delhi Spice in Bethesda. The food was absolutely delicious — we tried the Delhi Papri Chaat, Paneer Makhani, Fig Kofta, Daal Tadka, Onion Kulcha, and Garlic Naan. Every dish was full of authentic flavor and cooked to perfection.

The staff was very accommodating. We mentioned we had kids with us, and the gentleman taking our order made sure their food came out first — really thoughtful service!

Parking is a bit challenging in the area, but we parked in the Giant store lot behind the restaurant, which worked out fine.

“I just had my 2nd absolutely DELICIOUS Indian dinner at Virraaj on Cordell. My husband noticed what he thought was a new restaurant across from the public parking last week so we went there for our Wednesday date nite. We went earlyish and only a couple other tables were taken when we arrived but by the time we left at 6:30 ish it was just about full so best to make reservations. Even with many diners, it was still easy to talk to each other and be heard. I started w/ the AAM Palak Chaat appetizer which I had first tasted at Rasika and have ordered every time I have seen it on a menu. Definitely rivaled Rasika's and the portion was big enough to share w/ my husband as an appetizer. My main was the Murgh Bahak/ Kadai Chicken. So tender, so tasty with onion and green and red bell peppers, delicious brown sauce w/ terrific spices plus a little spicy kick. I ate as much as I could and still had left overs for 2 lunches at home. My husband ordered a lamb dish he enjoyed and finished every morsel including the rice. I saw some reviewers would have liked more rice. We had plenty with our meals so maybe they are giving more w/ each dinner. The waiter was attentive, professional, courteous and nice. The restaurant itself was classy & beautifully appointed - you could tell someone put a great deal of thought and money into designing it. This week we had friends visit who live in VA, within walking distance to Clarendon. We always go there for Indian food because there are so many good Indian restaurants to choose from but they were excited to try Virraaj from our comments about how much we enjoyed it. Before ordering takeout, I called and spoke to Jenni 3 times because I wanted to order what I had ordered last week but couldn't remember the name. She could not have been kinder or more patient in helping me figure out that it was the Kadhai Chicken. It may not seem like it from this review but I am a picky eater - happy to pay any price (just about ) for good food but am too often disappointed in Bethesda. Virraag got the highest marks on everything important to me: service, food, and ambiance - all of us enjoyed our meals and noone was disappointed. We ordered pickup for 4 main dishes including my fav Murgh Bahak/Kadai Chicken, Butter Chicken, Lamb Tawa Masala and Hariyal Murgh Tikka, naan and roti. All went on 2 big lazy susans on the dining room table and we kept on spinning, tasting and enjoying. The wife of the other couple always orders the Butter Chicken and kept on saying how moist and delicious the chicken was tonight. We all tried and liked everything - - not one complaint. “Visited Akmal’s kitchen with friends and family recently located in Springfield, the Desi Hub. It has by far the best tasting Pakistani food in Northern Virginia! Menu has great options for all kinds of food from appetisers, vegetarian options to specialty food! We ordered the chicken pakoras, chaat for appetisers and for main course, mix sizzling platter, goat korma, Nihari (fall off the bone beef), chicken biryani, butter chicken. The biryani was very fresh, very fragrant and the chicken fall-off-the-bone moist and tender--some of the best we've had. The butter chicken was excellent-the sauce wonderful to enjoy with the moist and flaky naan. They also have buffet every day, which I will try next time!
