“They have the best food. It is just like eating at your Grandmothers house.All the food is so so good. Ervin and I eat out there often and we have never had to send anything back. TVs with sportsball games on to watch if you like, and great Autumn style decor when we were here. Heard about the V&T Ruben and was not disappointed, it was delicious. I would have loved dill pickle spears instead of burger-style pickles but they were still tasty and rounded out the ruben experience with the ridged chips. Delicious cakes in the case, tried the lemon bundt cake and loved it. Wish I were local as this would be a regular go-to.“

Blue Ridge Bagels is my husband and I's favorite breakfast place in Lynchburg and overall!

Customer service is exceptional; always so kind! They have the best people!

We can count on their food being quality and consistent every time. Quite a variety of choices too, so we never grow tired of eating here, and we have not found a single thing on their menu we didn't like so far. Their food is amazing! Amazing taste, great quality, and fresh, healthy ingredients.

And a great price too, for what you are getting. More reasonable than most other places, which is another reason we love coming here!!!

In summary: Great people, excellent food, all at an affordable price! Other places, we have found to be a hit-or-miss, but Blue Ridge Bagels delivers *every* time and has never once left us dissapointed!

Oh, and great Gluten Free selection as well! (Their GF bagels actually taste better than some other places' regular bagels.)

Note to the owner(s): We especially loved the Red Pepper Gouda soup! Please keep making that more often! ❤

“I am leaving a review because the employee staffing the cafe counter today went above and beyond to check in the freezer for ingredients on an item we wished to order. We had a concern about an allergen and they were so kind to clarify that it was not present and prepared our soft pretzel without butter as requested. The snacks are so reasonable here and a nice treat while shopping at Sam’s in Lynchburg!“

“While you may have to wait a while for your order the staff is very nice. They often have to deal with many, many students at a time yet they handle the stress and load very well. For a busy Starbucks they do quite well. Only issue is they often run out of certain ingredients due to having so many customers in a day.“

“I was exploring Lynchburg over the weekend and stumbled upon Troublemaker Coffee, tucked right into the heart of a charming local toy and book store. Walking into what felt like a beloved community institution and finding serious third wave coffee inside was one of those delightful surprises that make travel worthwhile.

I ordered an oat latte and watched the barista work a gorgeous La Marzocco machine with the kind of confidence that comes from real skill. You can always tell when someone knows their equipment, and this crew clearly does. The espresso pulled beautifully: rich, balanced, with that syrupy consistency that signals fresh beans and precise extraction. They use Oatly, which is hands down the best oat milk for coffee. It steams to that perfect microfoam consistency and has the richness to stand up to good espresso without overwhelming it. The latte art was almost too pretty to disturb.

The result? Absolutely delicious. Smooth and creamy, with the espresso cutting through just enough to remind you this is coffee, not a milkshake. It’s that ideal balance that’s surprisingly hard to find, even in cities with competitive coffee scenes.

But what really won me over was the atmosphere itself. Surrounded by books and toys, with the gentle ambient sounds of a well loved local shop, Troublemaker offers something increasingly rare: a genuine third place where you can settle in, read, and just breathe for a while. The servers were fantastic, warm and attentive without hovering, checking in at exactly the right moments.

I was also glad to see they sell Slowpoke sourdough loaves. Clearly they know quality when they see it.

It’s the kind of spot that makes you wish you were local. If you’re visiting Lynchburg, bring a book, order that oat latte, and give yourself permission to linger. Troublemaker will make it worth your while.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“The service was phenomenal and the coffee and pastries tasted amazing. I'm not sure why this place has a lower rating, the prices are fair for the service being rendered. If you're wanting a cheap coffee, this place isnt for you. But if you have the extra money or just want to show a little local appreciation, this is the place to be. Thanks for making the weekend at the conference center a memorable one! Can't wait to come back to Lynchburg just to visit you guys!“
