“We had an excellent meal at Village Grill over the weekend. If we lived closer, this would definitely be regular spot for us. We had the chicken shawarma wrap and gyro, along with some falafel. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic. We will definitely return when we are back in the area.“

“It is a great restaurant, high quality Greek food. They said my entrée, the lamb gyro, had double protein, but that was not true. It had way too much bread and fried potatoes. Quality of the squid, lamb, beans, and pasticitio was epic. Loved the salad too, but would have liked more Tzatziki. I had to ask for my water to be refilled a few times. Brining one of those bottles or carafes of water to the table that some restaurants do would be a better fit for the restaurant.“

As fans of Persian cuisine and frequent shoppers at Yekta Market in Rockville— having recently tried our hand at making Persian dishes like Fesenjan at home— coupled with all of the culinary accolades— we had high expectations for JOON. It not only met but exceeded them. Mast-o Musir, yogurt dish with Persian dried shallot and rose petal, was exceptional— more elevated and nuanced than any we’ve had. The mushroom Khoresht stew with white truffle was another highlight, offering perfectly balanced flavors something hard to do with white truffles and a satisfying richness, complemented by the perfectly crunchy Tahdig, iconic golden rice crust. The braised lamb shoulder which Yacine suggested was the undeniable highlight of the meal I which each dish was excellent. Tender and flavorful, it was paired beautifully with texture. It’s a signature dish that rivals the best we’ve ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang’s Momofuku— bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“

“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. Wait staff and servers are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and not obtrusive. Don’t miss the nice selection of creative cocktails, wine variety and desserts. “Best kabobs I’ve ever had! Very juicy with the right spices! Recommend the Aleppo Steak and Meat Lovers. The Kirby Salad with yoghurt ranch dressing was fresh and creamy while the falafel was moist and yummy. Topped off all this with a slice of apricot pound cake which melted in my mouth. Accompanied with spicy cocktails, the Mirage and the Zaartini, the meal could not have been better!“

“Just went tonight and grabbed 2 chicken platters to go with my fiancé. The employees were wonderful. Beyond kind and personable. The food I don’t have words for. I didn’t take a photo due to being over excited but the portions are more than fair for what you pay. The hot sauce is VERY hot for me personally but I like it. The salata that comes with the entree is so fresh and tasty. The chicken is perfectly cooked - tender and seasoned deliciously. Even the rice is a masterpiece. We also highly recommend the pakora chips! They’re crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the outside, seasoned, and made fresh to order. We were even told by the staff that we were welcome to sit and make ourselves comfortable while we waited for the chips since they are made to order but our food was done so fast we barely had a chance to! We’re not done eating but we’ve already agreed this will be our Saturday night go to. For 2 people getting 2 platters and a side of pakora chips it was just $30. You’d spend more per person getting dinner from any other restaurant around.“

“The gentleman at the counter had wonderful customer service. We paid for our food even brought it to the table, which was very nice. It felt like fine dining, he gave us a bit of conversation and seem like such a pleasant gentlemen. I enjoyed the food. It was amazing. I eat every drop and the baklava ice cream with everything took a friend for the first time. My friend said he enjoyed it, and we will definitely be back again. “The interaction with the lady at the counter is often a cause of worry. It could be me, but her anxiety and stress levels are thru the roof all the time. It just makes me feel guilty for coming and giving them business. Honestly, this cant be good for her health.The food is scrumptious. Authentic Lebanese food to a South Asian pallette. “Exceptional. My family can't agree on anything. Except Cava. The night before Thanksgiving and we put in a complicated order -- 10 custom bowls. Went to pick up 20 minutes later, the food was already waiting. Everything perfect, the order correct, and the food was super fresh! There seems to be a no-tipping policy so I wanted to leave a review to thank the team.

“Cava is a great alternative to fast food when you need food on the run. It’s also a great place for picky eaters to get their food exactly how they want it and gradually expand their food choices. My daughter started with white rice and meat. Next visit added romaine lettuce. Next visit chopped tomatoes. Next visit added greek dressing on the side, etc, etc.

“We love Mezeh restaurants, so when visiting Tysons for the day we stopped into this one. It’s actually connected to the mall via Bloomingdale’s.

“I spoke with a man named Taha to order a variety of Persian kebab, etc. for a Surprise Birthday Party and was very satisfied, as well as the 30 guests who attended and (most being Persian) on the quality of the food.
