“Hey so everyone who knows me I pull no punches and I called right down the middle because I don't owe anyone any loyalty and I don't endorse any place so if I like it I like it and if I don't I'll tell you why. Maybe it's just the Brooklyn New York rooted in me.So let me get this out of the way: waterview complaining about a douchebag Hispanic guy working there who gives horrible service. He was off because I didn't see anybody in there fitting that particular description. I saw was working in the kitchen in the back and he was very quiet.Okay so as soon as you walk in what you'll notice is two ladies who are very nice and ask what you'd like to have today. But this comes with a problem. This is my first time in Mezeh and I did say that to them, so I asked what do they recommend. They looked annoyed as it appeared that they just wanted to take my order. So I decided to build my own bowl. I wanted some extra protein so I did get the chicken which was fantastic and obviously vegetables. Who got falafel on the side and they gave me four large pieces and it was fantastic. The vegetables they gave me Russian everything that they gave me including tax was $15.79. did I not paid extra for the chicken it would have came out to $11.65 plus tax.Out there were not that many people but the atmosphere was good and this is a rather sizable place and it looks very deceptive from the outside. The only other thing I wanted to mention is that as far as the help is concerned I just don't understand for the life of me if you're going to work in a people-oriented business, working behind the counter barely spoke any English and it was hard to convey what I wanted. Nothing against that and what language they speak but you would figure that if you're going to work in a customer service oriented business why would the bosses not want to hire someone who can actually communicate the language and the orders. Instead I had to point at everything.Would I come back here? The answer is yes.Vegetarian options: Salads And falafel“
“A wonderful restaurant for Mediterranean food inside Tyson's Corner Center. It wasn't too busy when I stopped by for dinner. The chicken in the shawarma bowl was delicious due to the marination and being submerged in sauce. It comes with two sides, and the shawarma sauce was good as well. Be sure to ask for a free sample if you're indecisive about what to go with.“
“The eggs benedict has salmon which was a little surprising since I did not look closely at the description on the menu first. There was no bearnaise sauce on this version either which is a favorite of mine. Since I don't like salmon, I gave that to my friend who said it was excellent . He had the Greek omelet which was really good since I tried some. He said the Turkish coffee is a little bit different. The hot chocolate was very good. We would go back and try other things since there were lots of choices“
“Food quality went down since they opened.I orded hummus belahmeh and chicken tawook .Lahmeh was almost burned and tawook no taste at all. Very disappointed to spend almost $26Even the cheese pie it used to be more deliciousBut this the only thing I was able to eat :(“
“Typically perfect shawarma, falafel, burger house café.No cheese.Supervised.Cool local art.NOT greasy food.Fresher than fresh.In-yó-face ordering.(Know what menu item(s) you want b4 you step up to the register.Cool staff shirts.(Yes, they should be for sale!)No one is self-righteous here.(It's food & everyone pays & TIPS! Move over!)Don't body block the friggin toppins bar.(Everyone wants to look so, move it along, nachón!)Please & thank you a must.(Even if you aren't in the mood, it's a locally owned business. Be kind, please.)Prices are very fair.(This stuff is delish.)Parking in the back of Targétt ?, Dollar Trree“
“A safe haven! These folks helped me when I had low blood sugar even though they had already closed. They ensured my safety that night and were exceedingly kind and welcoming. Angels. A rare kind of hospitality these days (take it from someone who has traveled the South extensively)“
“The food is light and refreshing. The price is extremely fair. Its great to eat right as it comes out and it also saves pretty well. The servers are kind--they'll even bring out the food to your car just to make things easier. The vibe is chill. This is a nice, local place that I will definitely be going to again.“
““I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service.” “The ambiance here is always inviting and comfortable.” Fairfax Kabob. the best in town.” “Their staff is not only friendly but also highly skilled.” Their customer services 100/100. chicken Kabob ?“
“Definitely a hidden gem little fast/causal spot! My husband and I got the gyro wrap and beef shawarma wrap with fries and they were delicious. Gentleman at the counter was friendly and dedicated to making our food deliciously for our first dinning experience with them. Ordered a side of rice (which is CRAZY GOOD) and he hooked us up. Only thing I would have liked to see was a little salt on the fries but they were fried to perfection“
“I totally agree with the other customers. We ate dinner in one of their booths last night. Had chicken slouvaki and Greek salad . Both were excellent. We wolfed down the salad and then then savored the tasty chicken souvlaki accompanied by buttery rice. Will be back to check out other entrees. Took home some superb baklava for dessert. Staff is very friendly“
“Second time visiting Basil in Annandale. Tired of cooking after thanksgiving and wanted some lentil soup and halloumi pizza. Both were excellent! I have made lentil soup many times but Basil's soup has a lemon undertone that was very satisfying. Dough for halloumi was very tender and crust perfectly cooked. Last time I did carry out I ordered lamb shank entree for dinner and that was wonderful too. I hope Basil keeps up their great meals. My new go to place for carry out when my arthritic hands too tired to cook!“
“Some of the best greek food in the NoVA area, certainly a gem of Reston. Owner is a personable and wholesome Greek fellow who always treats you right. I hope more people visit this place because its often empty when I go.Parking: Half empty, can always find a space.“
“Nostos is easily the finest Greek restaurant anywhere within driving distance of Washington, DC. And likely one of the best in the Northeast USA. This is due in large measure to the fact that owner, Peter, is onsite virtually anytime the doors are open.We have been dining here since they opened. And we have not yet had a poor - or even mediocre - dish. This is our Go-To restaurant for Date Night, for our Real Estate strategy meetings, and to take clients out.The staff has been with Peter for many, many years. They know the menu. And they know their clients.Take it from a Greek-American: we are incredibly fortunate to have a Greek restaurant of this caliber in the DC Metro area!“
“My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. We did not have a reservation but we were greeted very warmly and seated right away. The restaurant is small and quaint but it's beautifully decorated. It was the manager's first day there. I forgot his name but he was very sweet and hospitable. Our server Oscar was also very nice and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was delicious. Make sure you try the hibiscus lemonade. The sampler spread with the pita bread is delicious. We also ordered some lamb and the branzino which was also delicious. They kept our glass for water fulll. They kept the bread flowing. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend. They even gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco to toast for our anniversary. We will definitely be back and bringing friends.“
“Delicious Turkish/Middle East cuisine. My salmon salad was delicious. Service is excellent & prices are more than fair. We went on a Monday night & it was half/price wine (bottle) night ! Yay, we had a wonderful Turkish dry white wine.“
“It's a really comfortable, quiet place, the photo below makes it seem bright, but that's just because my phone adjusted the brightness according to my camera. There was a huge choice of items on the menu including vegetarian, lamb, chicken, beef, and fish. There was a full set of appetizers, desserts, wine and beer. I had chicken in mushroom sauce with rice pilaf, it came with a salad. It was a lot of food for one person to eat, and it was delicious.“
“For our friend's 40th birthday, we booked a table for five on a Saturday night at Kirby Club, helmed by the team behind D.C.'s Compass Rose, Maydan, and Medina. Here's our experience.1) Food: To feed five, we went family with a variety of dips, salads, and two orders of the Kebab Shindig. Everything tasted good, but the winner was the steak and all the dips, especially the grilled red pepper dip. (It's a tad sweet with the pomegranate.) We left full and even took home leftovers!2) Drinks: Their menu pulls flavors from the Middle East like the Camillia Kirby, apricot tea-infused negroni that serves two, Sauvignon Blanc from Lebanon, and the Wanderer of Wanda (like a mango margarita). Every drink was refreshing!3) Service: It's impeccable from start to end. Our server was attentive and gave us the best walk through of the food we ordered once it arrived at our table.4) Space: The design is beautiful with inviting lighting, booth seating, a giraffe mural, and more.5) Area: It's located in the Mosaic District in Fairfax. It's a bit a drive from D.C., but there's plenty to do once there. With several large parking garages, the area has restaurants, shopping, a brewery, a movie theater, and outdoor events.“
“Title: AMAZING Dining Experience at Fava Pot I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fava Pot and it was an experience worth raving about. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by an ambiance that exuded warmth and sophistication. The menu was a delightful journey through culinary excellence, offering a diverse selection to cater to every palate. Each dish was meticulously prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. The presentation was impeccable, elevating the dining experience to a whole new level. One dish that particularly stood out was the lamb and grape leaves bursting with bold flavors and perfectly cooked to perfection. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal was evident, from the delicate balance of spices to the exquisite plating. Their Egyptian coffee heated in that hot sand also made me feel like I was in Egypt (I'm not Egyptian. I'm Hispanic). Moreover, the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed and cared for. Their passion for hospitality truly enhanced the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Fava Pot surpassed all expectations, delivering a culinary journey that tantalized the taste buds and left a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. Yours Truly, Jose (Washingtonian Food Reviewer)“
“My family and I absolutely love this place. The only place we go to, that compares to mom’s cooking. The food is absolutely delicious. Love is really the main ingredient here and it goes into each and every one of their dishes. It extremely satisfies the vegetarians and meat eaters in the most delightful way. Would recommend to anyone and hope they live a more joyFULL life because of it.“
“Wow just wow!!! Pita on the Plaza is truly a gem!! Norma, the woman handling orders is such a sweet woman! You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers experience eating there. NOW THE FOOD. The chicken pita they’ve got (Old Gtown Wrap I believe) is INSANELY DELICIOUS. I really haven’t had a chicken pita that good in a very long time. Everything from the seasoning on the chicken to the choices in sauces was on point! The falafel was fresh and delicious. The Pita is soft and has a really nice flavor as well. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else they’ve got to offer!! (If you like spicy foods, ask for some of the creamy harissa dip!!!!) Thank you again to Norma and the rest of the Pita on the Plaza team for a memorable experience!“
“Hasib was amazing! He truly explained everything on the menu with such passion and was incredibly informative. He really made our experience and we will certainly be back. Hasib, thank you for pushing us to try different courses and drinks, and sharing your wealth of knowledge with us!Dietary restrictions: Completely accommodates any allergies and even asks at the beginning of the meal.“
“Their Halal Chicken x Latin Dry Rubs x Mediterranean Spices come together so well in their BYO (Build Your Own) Chicken Bowls.I love ordering their chicken bowls with Huli chicken and then making it perfect to my taste buds with the additional sides.[[Food: 5 of 5]]Adding avocados, grilled corn, cojita cheese, feta cheese, add pita chips for crunchy chips, drizzled with their Huli Signature dressing and Jalapeno dressing for a nice kick. [[Service: 5 of 5]]I usually always order online because it's convenient for me but I have ordered in store once or twice and the staff is always nice. You can ask them for recommendations and they'll be honest of their answers.[[Ambiance]]It's quiet and there's usually no customers when I come here. It's a chill spot if you want to have a quick lunch.“
“Food was delicious. Nice menu selections. We were seated upstairs which has less ambience than downstairs but was quieter and cooler, which was a plus for us. Service was fine but it was apparent that the server was working tables both upstairs and down. Would recommend this place for couples, families, and groups - all of which we saw enjoying dinner there.“
“I don't remember how I found this place online, but am so glad. You'll feel like you're on a treasure hunt and maybe in the wrong building, but go to the G (=LL) floor via the elevators and it's there. Simple decor and the owner is really friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent - I am vegan and he had no problem using tahini instead of tzaziki in my falafel sandwich, which was one of the best I've had! The prices were extremely reasonable and I am just sad it's so hidden away that people won't just run across it without knowing about it. The food was obviously prepared with care. Worth a visit - I plan on returning!“
“I recently moved back to the states after living in Morocco. I miss the food so much and this restaurant is absolutely the amazing Moroccan food I remember. If I lived in DC, I would go there all the time. Great food and friendly owners. Highly recommend.“
“Parking: Julii is within the Pike & Rose outdoor mall complex in North Bethesda (Rockville). Most of the parking is in one of the paid parking garages that are part of the Pike & Rose complex (first 2 hours free). There is one small surface parking lot that is diagonally across from Julii, which quickly fills up. On Saturdays, this small lot is taken over by the farmers' market that runs April - December thus, if you're coming for brunch on Saturdays, you'll have to choose one of the parking garages. This is a seasonal French bistro with a Mediterranean twist (steak fries and lamb tagine are on the menu). Service is consistently attentive for the small space which fills up quickly - there are outdoor dining pods (pandemic era holdover) for larger groups during winter and inclement weather. Inside the largest group table seats 6 at one very "cozy" table. This is really a place for singles to four tops.“
“Amazing food and service. We were a large group of 14 people including couple of kids. They greeted us with smiles and quickly put together couple of tables for our group. Food and drinks came quickly, everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was very kind. We had a delightful experience.“
“This is really a Mediterranean place, with typical options. They even asked if I wanted ice in the water, nice touch! I had a wrap with lamb. The lamb was hit or miss, some chunks tender and some quite chewed. My wife's falafel wrap was wonderful. The coffee and water were great.“
“Shawarma House catered our daughter's wedding reception and everyone raved about the food and thought we were geniuses for catering with a food truck! It was seamless working with Ghassan from start to finish and I am so thankful for him! Communication was easy as he was always very responsive. He made providing a delicious, hot dinner to 150 guests a breeze. He had the food all prepared and with the help of his brother-in-law he served it up quickly on demand. He exceeded expectations in both service and the quality of food. Besides being an excellent cook he is honest and kind. I highly recommend Shawarma House to anyone looking for catering.“
“Enjoyed our orders of spinach pie and the Kabob combo platters. The platters come with a salad and pita bread. This place is definitely a local favorite. Despite being tucked away in a strip mall, there were many families occupying almost all the tables during the evening when we were there.Enjoy!“
“The food was excellent and nicely presented. It's a comfortable place to dine. I was very impressed with the side Greek salad that came with the entree. The lettuce was very fresh and crisp, as was the cucumber. The chunks of feta cheese were big and delicious and the whole salad came with a very tasty, I assume, homemade dressing. Side salads don't usually get such expert attention as the one I had at Eleni's.“
“Stayed at the hotel next to Bawadi for 3 nights and ate their all three nights. Had something different each night and everything was very good. Staff was great. The food came out quickly even when we had a large table of folks one night. While they do not serve alcohol there is a nice craft beer place right next store.“
“We did not order any hot food from the cafe, but we enjoyed browsing all the interesting international (and unusual to me) foods throughout the store. We came in for the baklava and left with a bunch! Also a sampling of some dips and olives. I’m surprised to read that people felt the employees were rude because we dealt with a really nice and helpful man. The store was clean and well organized.“
“Every time I go, I get the Chicago-style gyro and enjoy it very much. They have a standard at this restaurant and they maintain it consistently. Both locations in the area seem to be pretty good, but I have noticed that the gyro is sometimes better at this location - maybe because it's the original. Few parking spots but I have not yet failed to find a spot in front of the store, otherwise you can park at the dollar store behind Plaka Grill. Can be quite busy sometimes seating-wise, but I always go for take out.Parking: You can park in front of the store and if none are available there, you can park behind the store at the dollar store parking lot.“
“Honestly, this is some of the best Persian food I've had in an upscale restaurant. I've had a ton in LA and Dubai. Each dish is thoughtful and incredibly well seasoned. They are true to traditional preparations, with an elegant flare in presentation. The one big minus was the service. The gentleman was kind and knowledgeable, but they forgot an appetizer, and food came out rather slowly. It wasn't too busy either. This rating could easily been a 5 star, with better service.“
“We have been coming here for a couple of years now and EVERY time it has been a very pleasant experience. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is amazing. BEST gyro meat I’ve ever had. The hummus is good and I like the fries but the real show stopper is the meat. I mean, my mouth is watering while I write this review…“
“The food and service at this place is always awesome. Especially the gentleman who runs the front of the house. His name is Marvin, and he's the nicest guy you could ever meet. If you want good food, pretty quickly, and like people in general, this is a great place to get it. I've become a regular customer and I love this place.“
“Food is good, but nothing too special. However, I was extremely disappointed by the service. The owner basically made fun of me and my party for finishing the food too quickly by making a snarky comment, like "Oh, you guys finished quicker than I thought." That was just flat-out unprofessional. Also, they charged us 20% VAT and we weren't a party of 2. Very disappointing. The chicken biryani was good, but nothing special. Kubideh was good.“
“Solid Vienna takeout. Supports local causes. Wish they were open a little later. Staff is always very friendly and dine in customer are well taken care of. Menu is huge and never had anything I wouldn't order again. Rotisserie chicken is the best in Vienna. Always hot and juicy.“
“This is my favorite Cava I have ever been too. The service is always fantastic and super friendly. Me and my coworkers go to this cava designation multiple times a week during our lunch break and never have an issue with the food or service. Thank you cava team!!“
“The interaction with the lady at the counter is often a cause of worry. It could be me, but her anxiety and stress levels are thru the roof all the time. It just makes me feel guilty for coming and giving them business. Honestly, this cant be good for her health. The food is scrumptious. Authentic Lebanese food to a South Asian pallette. Wont disappoint.Would go there again ... And be as gentle as possible. Yikes!“
“My wife and I recently dined at Jerusalem Restaurant in Fairfax County VA, and it was truly a delightful experience. The warm ambiance and welcoming staff set the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. The menu offered a fantastic array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes that were not only flavorful but also beautifully presented. The freshness of the ingredients and the skillful preparation were evident in every bite. The service was impeccable, and the staff's attentiveness added to the overall positive dining experience. Jerusalem Restaurant is a gem for those seeking delicious Middle Eastern cuisine in a cozy and inviting setting. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.“
“Good food, Shawarma, beef and chicken, healthy aryan ! Big line for the lunch time may indicate that the food is good was worth to wait for though.Parking: I parked in front of the neighbor dance business. While having the lunch in the car was possible to watch the dance training:) was like a show for the lunch :)“
“Nov 16, 2023Today in the midst of the lunch hour rush Carlos helped us with a complicated order and was very attentive as was his wonderful staff. If you’ve not tried Cava yet, run and do not walk to this Vienna location on Maple Ave!Parking: In mid- November, they still have some outdoor seating!“
“First time here. The food was really fresh and there are many options for proteins and toppings. I built my own bowl and was happy to learn it came with unlimited toppings. It was easy to choose healthy options or just go all out for a delicious high calorie meal. We will definitely be coming back many more times.“
“The food at JD Bar & Restaurant is truly delightful, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes and preferences. While the service was not terrible, there is room for improvement in managing the time to serve all customers efficiently. It would be beneficial for the establishment to ensure that customers do not need to call out to get service and to proactively check on all customers to guarantee a top-notch dining experience.“
“There are two entrances- main entrance is on the main parking lot side of the Eden center (and then you go down stairs). The other entrance is on the back, next to a gym, with less parking (and less light at night) but a door that's easier to find.“
“I was surprised Moby Dick moved into location in Annandale. Not because, there's anything wrong with Moby Dick. I've eaten at their DuPont location several times. They sell decent food. But the reason, I'm shocked is because right across the street is a small restaurant called Kabob Corner. I've been eating at Kabob Corner since 2008. Chef Ajeep's food is arguably, the best in the world for his style of cuisine. My husband and I have never had a bad meal there. And his service & personality is something the four seasons would not even be able to duplicate. He treats every customer as if they are his family. The portions are filling & always cooked to perfection with love. My personal favorite is the triple crown salad. I'm not saying don't go to Moby Dicks. All I'm saying it right across the street are the best kabobs I've ever had in my life.“
“Stumbled upon this place on accident and I'm so happy I did. The food is great along with the drinks. It's all reasonably priced and delicious. The drinks are also awesome and the staff is beyond sweet with a great ambiance! It was also the first time I had Ethiopian cafe cusine and I was happily surprised with how good it was!“
“So, I stumbled upon Maman Joon Kitchen at Tyson's and l can say its a solid chicken spot Vegetarian Friendly: Sadly this spot is not a great place as a lot of the menu is meat heavy. They do have options but you should really eat here as there main attraction is meat Decor: The ambiance is inviting and chill. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. And the bonus is they have outside heaters that keep you warm if you want to sit outside. Food Highlights: The Chicken Kabob stole the show for me as it was very well marinated and they included bread and yogurt which was great! Portion Size: Portion sizes are pretty good here so you definitely won't leave hungry, and you might even have some leftovers to enjoy later. But I wish they included 1-2 pieces of chicken as there was a lot more rice to chicken. Price: Considering the quality and quantity of the food, I'd say the prices are reasonable especially for Tyson Area. And just wanted to say there service was really good and got the chance to met the owner Peter Tabibian who was very nice and welcoming! Would I go Back: So even though it's good if I am in the mood for Chicken and Rice I would rather go to DCG as it has more toppings. But for a kabob place it was pretty good!“
