It's a giant mass of black ink illustration that is way too busy visually, with a teeny tiny name underneath in a hard to read font when you're driving by on a busy road. The name should be VERY PROMINENT from the street. I drove by twice before figuring it out.“

“I’ve ordered three times here since Nov 2025, and the halal indication is what made me curious to try the place. I’m happy Hunan Cafe is in the neighborhood! The food is good and clean, meat portions generous, the white rice that comes as a side was fragrant and tasty. I’m not left second guessing my order unlike other Chinese take out spots that can be too oily or use too much MSG. The service is reliable and friendly.

More details: I’ve placed over the phone with no issue and have ordered using the kiosk. They securely pack the takeout. I’ve earned a reward through Toast, the ordering app. There’s plenty of space to eat-in, if you’d like. I haven’t had an issue with parking, it’s a strip / plaza lot shared with other businesses. Dishes I’ve tried: spicy chicken wonton, lo mein, Taiwan noodle with veggie, Szechuan beef, and La Zhi chicken.“

“I enjoyed the chicken and lamb combo plate. It came with massive amounts of rice and a clay oven backed bread. Loved it. The atmosphere was 3 stars for me due to the crowdedness of the layout. Too many tables and hence too many people in an open area. Also took awhile to get our food. Paid over $20 per person.“

“I recently tried Shah’s Halal Food in Fairfax, and it was a really good experience. The food tasted fresh, flavorful, and filling. I ordered the chicken and lamb over rice platter, and the portions were generous with well-seasoned meat and tasty white sauce. The rice was fresh, and the spicy sauce added a nice kick.

The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was also very fast, which makes it a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner. If you enjoy New York-style halal food, this place is definitely worth trying in Fairfax.

I would go back. However, I would say The Halal Guys are comparable to the Little Ceasars or Domino's of their place in the industry. If you want to play it safe with a commercialized version of Halal food, then this is it. Please don't take that as a negative, Little Ceasars has its place in the market & it's time for when necessary, and so does The Halal Guys.“

“This is hands down the best burger I have ever had in my entire life. I am 36 years old and live for a good burger. Is it greasy? Yes. Will you need a ton of napkins? Yes. Is Jon’s sauce amazing? Yes. There’s even a bottle where you can get more of the sauce. The Coke machine was out of order, but there was a drink cooler full of everything you could need.“

I was really having a bad day, so this energy really made me excited to be there and eat. Ordering with the little gigglemug boy Ikram really made me a happy cabbage. It was just the pang-wangle I need to brighten my day. I ordered a number 3 with medium spice, and might I tell you it was delightful, dare I say near perfection. For this hot day, it really hit the spot. This experience at Dave’s was just a 10/10. The food and service was just amazing. “I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.“

Stopped by last night and had a great experience. This is a family-run halal spot and you can really feel the hospitality when you walk in. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the service was great. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly.

The food here is exceptional, that’s why it’s unfortunate that I had to give a one star review.

All of my orders here are to go. Everytime i order the chickpeas or potatoes, the containers would break and food would leak out. In 10 orders i pick up, all 10 times this would happen. If the sides are stacked on top of each other the lids would crack and the containers would cave in. I understand because the sides may be too hot, but the containers needs to be stable enough to handle a 10min transport without leaking out.

I hope you can find a solution because the food here is great.“
