The owners were so easy to work with and went out of their way to make my mom’s vision for her birthday a reality. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way for all of our guests. Our server was exceptional, making the evening even more special as we celebrated my friend's birthday. To our surprise, they treated my friend to a complimentary glass of Prosecco adorned with a birthday candle. We couldn't resist sharing our entrees, which included smoked brisket meatballs, pan-roasted shrimp, and fried catfish, all of which were incredibly tasty. The portions were generous enough for sharing, and the fried catfish was simply the best we've ever tasted, prompting us to order some to take home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a cozy evening with friends or family!“

“SO many great flavors to choose from; roasted strawberry will spoil you on regular strawberry ice cream forever! The cannoli ice cream(with mini cannoli shell) was excellent. My daughter always gets a sweet little macaron on top of whatever she chooses. It’s such a great spot to grab a great scoop (or two!) of ice cream.“

“I come to IH all the time, right on my street. This morning I got the mixed berry galette and it is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Not too sweet, perfectly flaky, with the slight crunch of granulated sugar washed on the dough. It is absolute perfection. Please consider making it a regular 😍 Thanks for all you do. Today my husband brought a bagel Sammy home to me from you guys. The sandwich had havarti cheese, which you had let get a little crispy and bubbly and wonderful. I noticed and appreciated it so much. I don't even care if I never happens again. The beautiful instance of it happening once will ensure that I return over and over again, delighted at the possibility of my sandwich having a crispy little cheese edge. “We ate at La Grotta for the first time last night. It will be the first of many! The service, food, and ambiance were spectacular. We were a party of 3 and each of us cleaned our plates. Our friend with Celiac could choose from almost the entire menu which is unheard of, especially at an Italian restaurant. If you're looking for a truly delicious meal, you'll find it at La Grotta! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Terrific staff and beer as always. New set up is terrible. Nobody wants to have a full service brewery. Nobody wants to have to reserve a table. Please go back to original set up. let us sit where we want. order a beer when we want. If we want full service we will go to the restaurant side. This may work at the other locations, but Richmond isn't Charlottesville. This was our goto brewery, today's has us thinking differently now“

“After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!! Don't miss their seasonal offerings for holidays! Most recently we had a delicious box of items for high tea from their Mothers' Day menu and everything was perfect and fresh. “One of the best pizza crusts in Richmond, coupled with generous toppings. When you order extra cheese here, you actually get it! Only negative is price - the other night (May 2025) I ordered a large with extra cheese, pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, and onions and it was $44. I was shocked. In their defense, the toppings (especially cheese) was so plentiful that I made 3 meals out of it - dinner, then lunch and dinner the next day. Still, $50 for a pizza (with tip) - I picked it up myself - is still kinda crazy. It was VERY good though.“
