About Salt and Meadow

Salt and Meadow is a restaurant offering a range of dining experiences. The food is generally praised, with specific mentions of a delicious juicy burger, fresh soft shell sandwich, tuna tartare, halibut, and rock fish. Desserts, including a lemon tart and peach crumble, are also noted as tasty. Breakfast options, such as an egg white omelet and French toast, were found to be very yummy. However, there are some complaints about the service and food quality, such as overcooked soft shell crab and a well-done medium rare steak. The restaurant's presentation is appreciated, with mentions of a beautiful setting and amazing views, making it a potential special occasion destination. Although the service has received praise for its hospitality, it has also been criticized for lacking attentiveness and resort-level professionalism. The food delivery and pacing have received negative feedback for being slow, with some diners experiencing long waits for drinks and dinner.

View is amazing. Food is good and menu has a nice variety. Of note, the eggs were brought to the table cold and were returned. Staff could be more attentive. For example, no spoons were brought out with the sorbet so we ate it with forks. Didn't have a chance to eat on the patio but that looked fun. Overall, would recommend and it...read full review
The location is second to none and great views from our table. Saturday afternoon crowd in August was quite small and so was the amity of items on the menu. We ordered crab cake sandwich and burger topped with crab and one without and a salmon. The crab items were mediocre. Burger was average. Salmon overdone. Two glasses of white wine $44. Lunch bill for 4 was almost $300. Local shop staff in Kilmarnock weren’t surprised by mediocrity there and recommended 2 other nearby...read full review

The cocktails were also nice. The Tides Last Word came with a notebook to leave a message and read notes from previous guests- a nice touch. The restaurant was quite full of families with many younger children elevating the noise level quite a bit. Would hesitate to recommend for a quiet,...read full review
