Fabulous large portions of fish (Pollack) and tender Liver & Onions dinners served with a friendly smile by the new 80 year old owner herself, Katherine, who said she used to work for “Kathy” before Kathy sold Katherine the business. Just connect the dots, folks, and you’ll get who’s who eventually. Don’t leave Shen Valley if you are looking for a clean place with good ole fashioned home cooking’ and friendly Southern hospitality?”

“My wife and I cane here last night for dinner. Nice place, conveniently located, and the employees were nice. We tried their Peanut Soup, you.will to try it to find out if you love it or it may not be for you - the best way to put! Their fried chicken was cooked juicey and had amazing crispy; however, it needed flavor or some seasoning. The hamburger steak was dry and had no flavor, but their hush puppies were awesome! The fries were good! I tried the peanut butter meringue, the meringue was very sweet, but the peanut butter part was good!”

“I was surprised. For convenience store/gas station, the little pizza shop inside had some good pizza. Got 2 large pizzas, and it only took about 15-20 minutes to make. There is no seating inside, so it's all to-go only.”

“Breakfast at this location on this day is perfect. The steak egg and cheese McMuffin was well put together, hot in the bag and the hashbrowns were all hot and slightly crisp. This crew absolutely nailed it this morning.”

When we first walked in, It smelled delicious already... and the staff were all nice as we came in to be seated. Our server (not sure how to spell her name correctly) was Kris. She was the sweetest and best server we've had in a very long time. The whole place just had a great and comfortable feeling... Even the music playing was perfect. Then the food came and mmm mmm mmm. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful experience all around. Out of 5 stars they get a 6. And my favorite part was you can eat there "under a buck"”

“Visited on a Thursday night. Service was excellent. Waiter great, good manners, timely and personable. Loaded tots were on point, hubs pizza looked good. And my son’s wings looked yummy! Could have heated the chicken Alfredo a little longer. Center was cold. They happily heated it back up. Karaoke was ok, some good some not but all TOO loud. You couldn’t hear each other at the table or the wait staff. Maybe dial it back a notch and sing on! Waiter, same fella showed our son how to throw and was great with him. It was a little pricy for a night out but a good time.”

“Since the new owners are keeping the restaurant open late Thursday-Saturday closing at 8 p.m is really nice. The food is great and getting to know the waitresses by name makes the whole visit complete. We probably have only waited 15 mins. for our food if that long. Fresh ground beef for the hamburgers. The waitresses are on top of everything to make your visit a pleasurable. I don't know if we have met them all, but Sarah, Danielle and Brenda has been excellent! Oh and there is no music blaring like some of the other places. You actually have a conversation with your party. I would give them 5☆☆☆☆☆. If you get a chance stop by for a home cooked meal.”

“2 atmospheres here, the main dining room was full myself and my older brother we're seated in the area near the carry out pizza, and meals are made. Had a big screen TV in there watching news at lunch. The booth seating was great, and you probably get 6 people in them with no problem. The pasta dishes were very good, and the servings were huge,and fresh baked was really good. I wouldn't think twice about stopping there again. Take care all.”

“I worked with The Hummingbird Bistro team on my wedding in 2023. They were so accommodating to our tastes, and open to traveling outside of their typical radius. They were a delight to work with, and the food was incredible! All of our guests were very happy with the meal!”

“One of the best kept secrets on I-81 and the Shenandoah Valley. We were told about it and on checking it out the hype we heard did not suffice. The food is outstanding, generous portions and good prices. The gentleman that waited on us was very hospitable and even explained some of the spices and cooking methods. You can’t argue with the authenticity and freshness when the food is being cooked where you can see it. Don’t be intimidated by the truck stop- this place exceeds many full service restaurants. We will be returners.”

“This location recently re-opened under new management, and it 110% improved from before. Well stocked, ingredients looked and tasted fresh, friendly and personable employees. Also, it always smelled weird in here before - no longer! I'd be happy to stay there and eat. If you tried it last year or beginning of this year and weren't satisfied, give it another shot. One of the better Subways I've been to.”

“I'm not a huge fan of Subway. Maybe I ate it too much years ago but nowadays it's just okay to me and I think it's way overpriced for what it is. I have lived in Rockingham County for a year now and ordered from this Subway a few times mostly online. I've never had a problem with my online order.
The staff is always friendly and one time I asked one of them what the sweet onion teriyaki sauce tasted like because I had smelled on a sub for a brother-in-law once and she gave me a small sample of it on a condiment cup lid.

I have yet to eat in but the place has always been clean.”

“We went through the drive thru for breakfast. Everything was fresh and hot. The wait was not long at all. Very friendly to have been early in the morning.

Parking: Lots of parking around the restaurant. If you need more parking the other businesses has extra parking.”
