“My brother and I tried La China Poblana Taqueria for the first time today. Having grown up in San Diego, we have been searching for an authentic, family restaurant experience for a long while since moving up the DC area. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. Service was spot on. Food was on point. We can't recommend this place enough. The birria tacos and quesadilla were fantastic. My brother also tried their lingua and loved it. Also, their fresh guacamole... I haven't had guacamole this good since I left California 23 years ago.“

“Food was delicious!
Very authentic and honestly by far the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in VA. Moved from Cali a couple years ago and had not found something like home ❤️🇲🇽 Highly recommend. Food is right on the spot ! Not salty or without flavor. Their flan 🍮 was amazing !!! Waitress were absolutely friendly and always recommending food based on what I liked and what they sell the most.“

“I enjoyed finding the Chofita food truck off of Grant Avenue today. I had the tacos al pastor and a bean and cheese papusa. I found the food to be flavorful, made with fresh ingredients, and served straight from the griddle. The folks were patient with me as I ordered in Spanish….it seems all the folks who ordered after me and sat at the tables were all enjoying their food. I recommend checking this place out… you would just have to a miserable soul to come up with anything negative to say… it was a lovely lunch al fresco. Shout out to the staff - they’re working hard - and the proof is in the papusa… tasty food!“

“The best tacos in the DMV area!! Ive been getting them for nearly a decade now and it’s my go to spot. I love taking my friends here because they’re always impressed with how good it is and it quickly becomes their favorite spot too!“

“Did NOT disappoint! Enjoyed a tasty meal at La Finca this weekend. Staff was friendly and attentive. Most important, the food was delish. Salsa was smooth--just a hint of heat and not too much cilantro. Beef and chicken flautas offered a great crunch and tender meat filling. Chile relleno, filled with melty cheesy goodness, was a hit! The skinny margarita was as you'd expect--good, but not quite the punch of a regular margarita. The mango-habanero shrimp was a beautiful presentation and the sauce packed a great, sweet kick--minus a star for shrimp being really over cooked (easy fix for the kitchen, though). Sounds like the new management team is off to a promising start and we can't wait to visit again!“

“We drove from Newport News to try this place out. It was ok. I ordered a carne asada sope, it was huge and pretty good. I also ordered a carnitas gordita which was too hard and the carnitas were so dry. Al pastor tacos were ok, the meat was a little hard as well.“

“I'd say it's authentic Mexian food, and the taste is good. It's the service side is sort of like a fast food place in that you order and then take your food to a table and eat then put it away when your done and because of that most of the service is from the cashier and they seemed nice enough. Atmosphere was at the level you'd expect from a in mart kind of restaurant but it was decently clean enough.“

“This hole in the wall did not disappoint! I couldn’t read the menu in Spanish but I was assisted in clear English which was helpful and I ordered what was recommended for my hankerings. The beef tacos seemed traditional Mexican style and they were so tasty! I got 3 to the order that were very filling. I’m fairly certain the tortillas were hand made, they certainly tasted fresh and homemade with something like pico & beef inside, topped with radish and cucumber, side of lime and the best sauce. So good! I wish I’d taken a pic because the presentation was nice. I ordered tamales to go and will have them later. They were wrapped very well and kept warm while I sat to eat. It smells delicious. I’m not local or I’d return.“

“Food and service are fantastic!“
“My friends originally wanted to try another restaurant in Manassas, but the wait was really long. Since I had been here before and enjoyed it, I suggested we come here instead—and I’m so glad we did.
The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was just as great. Everyone was super attentive, and we’ll definitely be returning to this location. They truly deserve more recognition for how good the food is and how strong the service is.
My only critique: we wanted to order the large group drink (I can’t remember the name), but it was pretty expensive, and the server let us know they didn’t have enough oranges to make it the way it’s supposed to be. From one manager to another, it’s not about not having oranges—it’s about communication and options. If a table orders a $150 drink and you’re missing an ingredient (even something simple like oranges), I’d suggest letting them know upfront and offering alternatives: ask if they’re okay without them, substitute something else, or even offer an appetizer while someone runs to grab what’s needed. We had already spent $250 on food and drinks and we were ready to keep going. I would never give up that opportunity to bring in some cash flow on a Saturday night.
That said, this place is a hidden gem and deserves to be packed every Saturday. The music was a 10 out of 10 and definitely made the vibe 100 times better I really hope more people discover it.“

“We finally tried this place and must say we had a great experience! The Pupusas are delicious (very cheesy) and fresh! Their nachos are real nachos, they had carne asada pieces, beans, cheese, onions, tomatoes and probably more. Their Horchata is probably the best I’ve had in a long time! Milky not too sweet and definitely flavorful. Hungry for Authentic Salvadoran food? This is probably the place!“

“Definitely come here!!!! Chofita's treats you like family. They have amazing Mexican food. We tried 5 different food options and each was a delight.
We are for sure coming back and inviting more people to come.
It looks like they have a DJ on Friday nights.
Fast service and all the food was priced perfectly.
Great job! The owner also interacts with customers and is very sweet. Great family owned business.“

“Classic spot, decorations haven’t been updated since the 80s, but the recipes are good and the service is great. Classic Mexican American tacos and enchiladas with a great price. This is the last OG tippys tacos left as the one that is at another location has changed names and ownership.“

“We came, we ate, and the portions were great. I forgot to take a photo beforehand... so you’re seeing the some of the aftermath! 📸
The staff was on point for a busy Saturday night. We had reservations, checked in easily, and were seated within minutes despite how crowded it was. Our waitress was attentive and genuinely thoughtful—she checked on us multiple times after the food arrived and even made sure our kid was taken care of without us having to ask (which, let’s be honest, is rare).
As for the food: fantastic. My husband ordered the fajitas and immediately noticed the difference ...the onions were perfectly caramelized, not burned or overly charred. And yes, I fully appreciated the sizzle. I ordered the quesadillas, and they were cheesy, well-filled, and cooked just right and you can tell the tortillas were fresh! We will be back!“

“I used to go here all the time for 2 reasons. One was because the food was really good and the 2nd reason was because the most beautiful girl I had ever seen worked there. Her name was Roxana. Once Roxana left, I stopped going as often. The food is still good and the customer service is still great.“

“My husband and I just stopped in randomly while driving through Manassas and had the BEST lunch! My husband is originally from San Diego and is constantly on the lookout for good Mexican food in our area. He had the carnitas torta and fried pork belly and I had the al pastor tacos and beans. Everything was delicuous and the beans were especially flavorful.
We also got to chat with the new owner who was super friendly and provided great recommendations.
We'll definitely be coming back with the whole family!“

“Looking for that “go where everybody knows your name” kind of place? That’s exactly what you get at Hector’s of Nokesville. From the moment you walk in, you’re more than just a customer you’re family. The food? Legendary. Especially the breakfast sampler it’s the kind of meal that hits just right, every time. I’ve been to Hector’s so many times, I don’t even have to order anymore. They know me like Norm from Cheers, and honestly… I’m not mad about it. If you want good food, good folks, and that warm, small-town feel that’s getting harder to find these days Hector’s is the spot. Highly recommend you swing by. But fair warning: after a few visits, they just might memorize your order too.“
