Uncover Haymarket's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“My wife and I each had the 2-enchilada combo (chicken and spinach), which was very good. The spinach enchilada was particularly tasty, having apparently been made from fresh spinach. Yum! The chips and salsa that preceded it were also very tasty. The only disappointing part of the meal were the Patron Margaritas we ordered. Not only were they very small for a $15 price tag, but they tasted like pure lime juice, with little hint of any tequila let alone Patron. Granted, good margaritas are hard to find, but they didn't even appear to be trying in this case. Otherwise, a good meal and a friendly staff.“
“I low key kind of want to gate keep this place but I also want to see them succeed. This is a true family owned and operated spot dishing out some of the best Latin American food in the area. Birria Tacos and the carne asada steak platter are our go-to picks but everything they make here is solid.“
“The food, service and the atmosphere were all exceptional! Guacamole was so amazing and they have the best, most delicious light and crispy chips! We had seven girlfriends there to celebrate a birthday, and all 7 meals, drinks and all three desserts were awesome!!!!“
“It was super good food. The service was a little slow due to it being so busy. At Hector's it's the food is worth the waitParking: Parking in front and back.Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu that isn't all Spanish food. They have nuggets and burgersWheelchair accessibility: Big ramp leading to the door“
“Best steak chicken fajitas in Northern Virginia!!!!!!! Fresh, sizzling goodness for dinner AND a late night snack! Friday and Saturday evenings are beginning to get busy because the word is out about EL TIO TEX-MEX GRILL, real Tex-Mex authentic dishes and MARGARITAS!Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian choices for any taste.“
“Food was pretty good, service was great and it's a nice place. Will go back. Recommend whatever you order to ask for it without lettuce inside. The food is hot and the lettuce wilts. Just an idea for it to taste better.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking in front and plenty of room to maneuver“
“I live in Maryland but often drive to VA because of friends/family. I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally went. I didn't know it inside the supermarket which I do not mind but it did throw me off lol I got the birria Ramen with one of the spicy pork belly taco. MAN when I tell you that taco I never tasted anything like it, I don't like coleslaw but in the taco... it was delicious. I could've ate another one if I wasn't so full after the Ramen. The Ramen was so good, the broth was flavorfuI. Also shared the loaded birria fries, the cheese sauce was so GOOD and with the jalapeños, just perfect!!! Based off the pictures and what I got, I think you get a good portion size for your money. I will DEFINETLY go again when I come back to VA.“
“I've been to this place twice and it just keeps getting better! Food is amazing. Beans are authentic Baja style! Seafood is great and you CAN NOT find any better value! The portions are huge! Also, they have live mariachi regularly and the house tunes are always kicking! Its hard not to want to dance while eating.“
“This is the best place I found since moving here from Arizona. I absolutely love the salsas. The soups are very flavorful and the meats are cooked to perfection. The Cadillac margaritas are very good.I will be definitely coming back to explore the menu!“
“This place is a hidden jewel. We always get take-out but the place is clean and we look forward to talking with the staff will waiting for our take-out order. The family gets a variety of things from breakfast taco, steak quesadilla, sopes, & our favorite chicken taquitos. They also carry my drink "Calypso"If your in the neighborhood, stop by & grab something to eat!!!“
“Hidden gem! This location in Bristow is excellent as well as the sister location in the Plains/Marshall. Absolutely delicious Mexican food; great sauces, salsas and margarites. I highly recommend the Pollo Loco dish - the chicken breasts are thin & tender and smothered in a cheesy chorizo sauce served with rice and fresh vegetables.“
“We have been several times. The service has always been attentive, one of the ladies there even modified the carne asada to accommodate our little ones. Everything we have tried has been AMAZING. The salsa is a MUST HAVE. We even buy it in volume to take home every time we get a chance.“
“Food was very nice, went for an outing with my family. One thing I wish was better was their beans. Otherwise the food was nice and our server was great! I love the ability to be able to get corn tortillas because it makes my mom who has a gluten sensitivity feel more comfortable going out to eat.“
“I’m in charge of catering for a large group of friends. We do events very often. We try different countries food. This time we chose Mexican food. I found this small restaurant with majestic, original, typical taste. It was a general consensus that the food was amazing. Everyone ate more than one plate. Thank you to the owner, Ms. Veronica for not only providing quality food but additional quantity. We are very happy and appreciative for that gesture I’m sure we will be making future business with her! I 100% recommend this place for all your catering needs.“
“LEEEEEEMMMMEEEE TELL YOU! Run don't walk to this Mexican spot in Bristow Manassas. My boy and I were watching NXT ( wrestling) and what goes good with wrestling..... Mexican food. Lucha libre was a big thing growing up! I got the beef California Burrito ( only slight thing I would add is fries to it) other than that the flavors were on point! My taste buds were getting taken down by the flavors. Now let me get you hip to the Steak fries! Had a GREAT portion ( enough for you and your tag team partner). The fries included a nice mix of veggies ( Red pepper , green peppers and onions). When it comes to the tacos..... they have it like it's suppose to be con un poquito de cilantro y cebolla. It was like going to the west coast , delicious culture. Their home made sauce added to it was just the Cherry on top. I had to tap out and the food got the best of me.... But I want a rematch.“
“Food and service was absolutely amazing! Definitely my number one taco spot from now on. Better to know Spanish when ordering which I do for the most part. However, we got charged more than what it said on the website so I think they charge you based on the way you look. Still recommend though!“
“I come here as often as I'm passing by. Best to order ahead to avoid a wait, especially during lunch times. It helps to be able to speak Spanish, more so if you order ahead.I'm all about the burrito del asada. The steak inside the burrito keeps with a crispy outer crunch even when everyone else in there should make it soggy. I do see what everyone else is getting and it also looks delicious.Bang for your buck, this is where it's at. Only downside, if anything, is there are only two picnic tables and all outdoor. However, if you're looking for a place to eat on a rainy day, come here anyway and find somewhere else to eat it.Parking: Lunch time is crowded but you can park at the gas station nextdoor while you wait.“
“We finally tried this place and must say we had a great experience! The Pupusas are delicious (very cheesy) and fresh! Their nachos are real nachos, they had carne asada pieces, beans, cheese, onions, tomatoes and probably more. Their Horchata is probably the best I’ve had in a long time! Milky not too sweet and definitely flavorful. Hungry for Authentic Salvadoran food? This is probably the place!“
“My husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a great experience! Service was fast and friendly. They had upbeat music playing and the decor was soo cute! They had a large lunch menu offered EVERYDAY! The chorizo queso dip was some of the best I’ve had! It was decent price good food! We will def be back when we are in the area!“
