“Celladora was something else entirely.
From the moment we stepped inside, we felt an unexpected mix of comfort and awe. The space is small, just four tables, but it carries a presence that’s artistic, warm, intimate, and quietly electric. They were running a little behind, but it didn’t feel like a delay. Vinny, our incredible server, welcomed us with glasses of chilled rosé, and time instantly slowed in the best way.
What followed was a food experience that felt intentional, layered, and full of soul.
We began with the charcuterie board, trusting their recommended cheeses and meats. Each bite was perfectly curated. The ceviche arrived bright and vibrant, filled with cilantro, Peruvian peppers, and a burst of sweet citrus. The Caesar salad, made with frisée, was a bold and refreshing take on the classic. The pasta with sausage, kale, and pecorino was delicate yet full of flavor, with a beautiful balance of lightness and spice. The pork larb, which I didn’t try due to dietary restrictions, was a favorite at the table; sweet, gingery, and ridiculously delicious.
Then came the dish that truly stopped me: the beef tartare. Herby, bursting with spices like cinnamon, cumin, and just a hint of cardamom. It was rich, memorable, and entirely unique. Paired with ultra-thin pita crackers, it left me speechless. I tried to savor it slowly, but it was impossible not to fall in fast.
When it came to wine, we shared the flavor profiles we typically enjoy with our server. Vinny returned with two perfect selections, each more spot-on than the last. We happily took both to say the least!
Dessert was a blueberry cake with a berry sumac whip. Simple, light, and the sweetest ending to an unforgettable meal.
I don’t leave reviews often. But if you’re debating this restaurant, don’t. And if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, savor every single moment.“

“Very nice place easy to find, might have to drive around a little bit to find parking but it's not too bad. Very cozy old fashioned interior AC. The staff is good kind of get what you want and leave you alone for the most part, could be a little bit more attentive but not bad. The food is crazy good I had the Ted Hanson smoked turkey one of the best sandwiches I've ever had only criticism, I wish the pickled onions were more scattered through the sandwich. Highly recommend this place.“

“Tried a custom mocktail and a caipirinha, plus an enormous serving of flan at happy hour. The Vibe at the bar and on Cary Street was really fun. (Note the blue light illuminating our drink.) Def coming back for their Sunday brunch all-day happy hour.“

“I stumbled across this place when I was here for a work trip. I went home and told my husband, I HAVE to come back. Just like others say, it’s intimate, amazing and attentive staff, and the music creates an awesome vibe. My husband brought me back for my birthday/anniversary and one of the owners sang happy birthday to me and another person! My review can’t describe the feeling I had listening to the music, with my delicious drink, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the seafood salad.“
“Arthur was so welcoming and, in fact, that is what I would say about the whole atmosphere at this neighborhood wine bar. Oh and, yes, the wine was great too and did not break the bank! The fact that jazz artist, Marcus Tenney will be back to entertain really sealed the deal! ❤️🎶🥂“

“Jardin is an absolute treasure in the heart of Richmond. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, intimate, and thoughtfully curated. The service is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the staff genuinely seems to care about your experience.
The food? Outstanding. Every dish we tried was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were clearly fresh and seasonal, and the menu offered a creative twist on familiar favorites. Whether you’re there for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just a night out, the ambiance and quality make it feel special.
One of the standout features of Jardin is its garden-inspired setting, lush, calming, and full of charm. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and savor every bite.
Highly recommend Jardin to anyone looking for elevated dining with a personal touch in Richmond. It’s clear a lot of love goes into everything they do.“

“Cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. We went on a cold evening when we just didn't have the energy to cook ourselves. Perfect choice! Had fresh fish of the day- super fresh and perfectly prepared. Perfect server. Home made Ceasar salad to start. Again, just right. Highly recommend!!!“

“My husband asked the bartender/head mixologist, Steve Yang, for a gin based dealer's choice and he made the most wonderful drink I've had in a long time. He called it "Some kind of wonderful" it had dill, yogurt, and some other stuff and tasted like some hard to find European candy. Awesome!“

“BEST Cafe – Inside VFMA
We stopped by this cafe after overhearing someone talking about the frozen margaritas, and let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint! There were two options, Mango Frozen Margarita and Blackberry Lime Margarita and both were delicious, super refreshing, and hit the spot. The place was busy and overall was a good quick sit down. The outside area was very nice it was just too hot to sit out there for too long.
The service was quick and friendly, and even though we didn’t try the food (they had items like pizza and pastries). It was perfect for a drink break while exploring the museum!“

“We ate at La Grotta for the first time last night. It will be the first of many! The service, food, and ambiance were spectacular. We were a party of 3 and each of us cleaned our plates. Our friend with Celiac could choose from almost the entire menu which is unheard of, especially at an Italian restaurant. If you're looking for a truly delicious meal, you'll find it at La Grotta! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“This spot delivers a good breakfast experience with great service. They've got all the traditional breakfast items, but also some really creative spins on French toast and pancakes. If you love a sweet start to your day, you'll be happy with the many choices here. We felt well taken care of by the staff.“

“The food, as always was incredible and a good value - I had the baked shrimp Chesapeake, with tons of crab and shrimp. Delicious! The veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Hanover Tomato Caprese salad was fresh and light. My only complaint was that the air conditioning units (not central air) were not working in some areas, which no one seemed surprised about. The banquet room in the front was much cooler but they said they wouldn't seat anyone there even though it was open that night. Leaving customers uncomfortable in a hot dining room when you have a large banquet room that's cool, does not feel like putting the customer first.“

“8/9/25
We went on a Saturday night without a reservation. I would recommend having a reservation to others because I felt like we got lucky. Waited about 20 minutes to get a seat.
The hostess was helpful, and the wait staff was attentive. Food came out relatively quickly.
The inside of the restaurant was lively, very attractive, and all of the patrons looked to be completely enjoying themselves.
Started with the basket of cornbread, and could see immediately that it was dripping in butter. Light, tender, and slightly sweet. Probably the most enjoyable cornbread I have ever had. My wife had meatloaf, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and mac n cheese. She enjoyed all. I found the mac n cheese tasty, but not noteworthy. I had country fried chicken, mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, and stewed tomatoes. Mashed potatoes were excellent, and stewed tomatoes were a revelation on how well they could be prepared. The disappointment of the meal was the chicken. It was drier and tougher than I had had at nice restaurants like this in a very long time. I should have sent it back, but I did not.
Overall, we were both very happy with Southern Kitchen. We will be back.“

“We had our 20 year alumni event for about 24 people with dinner, drinks, and dessert. Melissa was super responsive to questions and alterations for the event and the food and service were awesome when we attended. The 2 servers did an excellent job.“

“Server who was also the host and bartender on a Monday afternoon was great. He held it down. The grilled chicken sandwich was awesome. Flavorful. Fries were crispy. The price was reasonable like other restaurants with chicken sandwiches. Definitely not over priced.“
