“I've been wanting to try El Camino since I moved to Lynchburg. Having moved to Virginia from Texas. I have high standards for a Mexican restaurant and El Camino delivered! In addition, today's visit was to celebrate a friend's birthday. She recently moved her from south Texas so I was a little nervous... Well, there was no need! The food and service were excellent! We tried a variety from the menu: tacos, burrito, pupusas and gorditas! The chips and salsa was outstanding as well as the house made hot sauces. Maybe my new favorite restaurant“

“Consistently good service and delicious food. The fried bean chimichangas are my favorite. My family loves the La Caretta and the beans and rice. The menu offers options for everyone, including vegetarians. Our favorite restaurant to visit when in Lynchburg.“

“This is the best taco truck on the planet. I always get two carnitas tacos with the queso and they give us free chips each time. So. Fire. Just all around amazing and the guy who owns this truck is a literal sweetheart. Support your local food vendors !!!!!“

“This is a great "mom and pop" Mexican place in Lynchburg, Va. It's decorated well and has the same type of refrigerator with clear glass doors holding Mexican beverages you'll find in Mexico. The owner seated me and another group who came in at the same time. Service was good. The last time I saw this style salsa container was when I lived in Arizona and it held a hot taco sauce. This salsa was very very good and it had a good amount of heat. It wasn't too hot, but probably on the hot side for those on the East coast. The fajitas didn't come in strips like I'm used to. They were thinly cut slices of bottom round. Good seasoning. The refried beans and Mexican rice were very good. This is a great place!“

“I had not eaten here before but I decided to drag my very picky mother in law here for lunch. She didn’t have a single complaint, not one and she always finds something to complain about. Tortillas are fresh, meat was tender and so flavorful. She got chicken and chorizo tacos and I had Al Pastor and Quesa Birria tacos and all of it was just magnificent. They were generous with the onions and cilantro as well as the salsa. The beans that come with it were simple but oh so tasty and the cantaloupe frescas was delicious and refreshing. I can’t say enough how delicious everything was. The lady at the window was very friendly and helpful too. I will be dragging my husband here sooner than later.“

“A spacious fun spot downtown great for any time of the day on your own or with a group. With daily specials it's a win whenever. They have a variety of different dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff is engaging and friendly making for an enjoyable experience. A nice addition to downtown that surely will only get better as the weather warms up and you can sit outside.“

“The food was good. My complaint is the waiter was misleading. He asked if we wanted the beans and rice. We figured it came with the meal. To our surprise we were charged $6.50 for each one. We paid almost $30 for beans and rice. Did not see that anywhere on the menu. Felt like we were taken advantage of. Probably will not go back. That isn’t good customer service.“

“Good service when dining in, and very fast when ordering to-go. If you don't in on a weeknight you may be pleasantly surprised at just how quickly you get your food, but on the weekends expect a regular wait time. For something a little more authentic, try the Chilaquiles (spicy) or the Tacos Al Pastor with Horchata as your drink! The fajitas are really good, and enough food for one parent to share with two little kids as long as you ask for more tortillas.“

“I like most La Carreta restaurants. This one is more smaller. Every time I go to this one service is fast. But this time I felt like I was at home with family. My father is using a walker because of a broken hip. And they let me park in there parking place for pick up. I thought that was nice of them to let me stay there. My father was very happy and that made me happy.Very nice and friendly service every time I go.God bless them.“
