“Came across Johnny Ray’s by accident since it isn’t super close to home and glad that I did. I ate in-nice people and good music. They have good carry out traffic.I ordered the pork chop dinner that comes with 2 sides and cornbread. The chop was very good-nicely seasoned and beautifully fried. I’d definitely order that again. The greens were good; the yams had a good flavor, but were too sweet for me personally. I also ordered Mac and cheese to try, but when the food came they said it would be out shortly. It never came. I went to the counter for a to go container when I’d finished and mentioned that it never came. I took it with me to go and will have with my leftovers. It wasn’t a deal breaker for a return visit, but it was pretty clear that they forgot. I was disappointed that neither the person taking my order or the one that told me he’d bring the Mac and cheese offered an apology.This was good soul food in a very unexpected location but I recommend. Good food takes time to cook well, so that combined with the volume of carry out orders seemed to drive a bit of a wait. They might want to consider providing something to snack on to those dining in. That’ll help pass the time after you order and grab a table while waiting for your food. Looking forward to trying it again and maybe bringing my family next time.“
