“Went to Kitchen +Kocktails for the first time last night. The decor was very nice, and the music was good and not obnoxious. Our server Ally was terrific! I’m not a drinker, so when I asked her if there were any cocktails that didn’t taste like alcohol, I thought she would look at me like I was crazy, but she didn’t! She seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and immediately had a couple of suggestions. I went with the mixed berry lemon drop and it was perfect for me. The crab cake appetizers and shrimp and grits with lobster tail entree were amazing. We had a great time and we’ll be back!“

“Ordered 2 full meals plus additional sides in person on Juneteenth and recieved our food within 20 minutes which was great especially because they were busy! The people working are very kind. My partner and I are so excited to have found a soul food spot in this area that is actually very delicious and not too expensive. First Impression gave us lots of food for what we paid! We will definitely be back and grateful to have this business in our area“

“Take out spot right by 9:30 club and Andy’s in Shaw. If you walk fast enough you’ll miss it. I got the Hot Chicken 2 piece which was a 9/10 and a side of fries that were at 7/10. A bit pricey like $17 for a 2 piece and side. Overall recommend this spot for sure, chicken was tender and juicy, everything came out piping hot. The flavors and spice levels were on point as well.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at The Hitching Post DC. I ordered the grilled lamb chops, mac & cheese, collard greens. The lamb chops are in my top 2 of the best I've ever tasted. I don't normally order mac & cheese when I go out to a restaurant, but this order was perfect as well. The collard greens could use a little vinegar, however, they were still delicious. I will definitely dine there in the near future. The lemon cake had was flavorful, moist and delicious, too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Love this black woman owned gem of a rare jewel in our neighborhood. As a Native Washingtonian - the nostalgia I feel when eating or lounging at Addies’ is amazing. Huge kudos to my favorite Chef Rudy aka Smiley. I work from home & running to grab my breakfast before getting stuck on meetings all day is a blessing to me because Chef Rudy takes great care of me.“

“Some of the best soul food that you can get, I am a Native Chicagoan that relocated to D.C. from Mississippi. I wish I would have visited this place when I first relocated. I visit 3 times a week (yes 3 times a week).“
“The service was top tier. The person working the register was very pleasant. I didnt get her name but she around 5pm. The food was really good. I got the lemon pepper, fries, cabbage, and yams. Everything was flavorful and fresh to order. There are a variety of sauces and dry seasoning for your wings. I will be heading back to try the shrimp and next the ribs. They had an option for turkey bht they were out when I came. They also have a few seasons to put on your order which is available on the side of the counter. The place smells good when you walk in. It is inside of a liquor shop. Very tiny space but its obviously not meant for dine in purposes. I can see them getting packed for lunch but the time I went, it was not crowded just a steady flow of customers.“

“Kebba made this one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. From the moment I walked in, he treated me like I was a guest in his own home. His hospitality, professionalism, and genuine kindness made all the difference and created such a welcoming atmosphere.
The food was outstanding. The chicken patty came out fresh, nice and hot, with the perfect level of spice that packed incredible flavor in every bite. And the mac and cheese? Hands down the best it gets at World Famous Grill—rich, creamy, cheesy, and absolutely unforgettable.
This place is a true treasure and a time capsule of amazing food and authentic hospitality. If Kebba is taking care of you, make sure to tip him well because he truly earns it. His warmth and exceptional service elevate the entire experience. I’ll definitely be coming back“

“Traveling in town for work and have been looking for a “home cooked meal” I’ve eaten 40 different places since I got here two months ago and this meal was just what I needed. I tried meat loaf, Mac n cheese, corn, string beans, stuffing, candied sweet potatoes and of course the sweet potato pie. All delicious, nice and hot even after my walk home! Will definitely be back again!“

“I ordered fried baby back ribs on May 29, ticket number 148 from the restaurant in Oxon Hill, I have ordered these before and they were delicious. But this time the ribs were hard a scrawny with very little meat on them. Some of the pieces looked as though the meat had been cut away as if there was a spoiled spot on the ribs. Before the ribs had plenty of meat and was juicy. I will not be ordering these again. Please do better. Thank you“

“Small little greasy spot located on a fairly busy road. I want to say it used to be a KFC about 20 years ago. It has a drive through but no seating. Food is made to order. I had the French toast platter with home fries. My family had wings and fries. Nothing spectacular but it hits the spot if you’re hungry. Service was polite. The citrus seasoning is a definite don’t on the fried chicken. I like my wings fried hard and they delivered. Probably won’t go back because we don’t live near there but it was decently priced and filling.“
