“The food is amazing. Service was great. I used the online ordering which was very easy. My order was ready when I got there with no mistakes. The General Tso's was the perfect amount of spicy and the Vegtable Lo Mein was loaded with veggies and had a delicious sauce. Will definitely be returning!“
“Our family has been going here for YEARS. We love this place! Never been let down one time. Great food. Great service. Great people!Anytime we have family members come from Indy, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, you name it, they always love this place and always ask for it when they come (driving, flying - who wants to go out to eat anyways after traveling all day on the first day they come or dirty up the kitchen after cleaning up all day? Lol). They tell us all the time too all the Chinese takeouts around them where they’re at just suck, can’t compare, are disappointing, never taste that great, or they just have a bad experience and don’t go back. “We didn't realize it was a buffet until the host greeted us and told us only soups and salads were already out (it was 3:55, serving began at 4pm). I do like a good buffet, my wife, not so much. But we had driven from NC and missed lunch, so we were hungry, and the place was immaculate, and the host was very gracious. I will not bore you with a blow-by-blow. From the jumbo steamed shrimp, my wife's fresh green salad and delicious dressing to the coconut creme pie, everything we put in our mouths from the overwhelming selection was #1. Everything! Our server was polite, attentive, and gracious. We are thinking about making a day trip back to Roanoke for dinner at the Red Palace. Oh, and the icing on the cake: our bill for 2 was $34.33, tax included.“
“Listen everyone. China Star is by far the most amazing Chinese restaurant in Roanoke. I've tried everywhere basically. Food is always spot on. There is never a mishap and if there is the owner corrects it immediately. She is the nicest and sweetest person in business. She will learn you face and voice! Again the food is beyond excellent. Always hot and fresh. The best thing is she has her prices very reasonable. Family of 6 can eat for 30 bucks and have leftovers!!!!! I don't need to put pictures because it won't do the food justice!“
“Listen—if you've never tried theor steamed dumplings, your life is not yet complete. My partner and I get China Lite 1-2 times a month, and it NEVER disappoints. I wasn't able to take pictures of the food because we tore into it so fast. Everything we have ever gotten from here has been amazing. Highly recommend all the versions of fried rice and lo mein, as well as the Happy Family mix (one of our favorites). Also just tried the hot and sour soup for the first time tonight, and I'm in love.“

“Always a last minute go to, carry out only being 10-15mins almost every time. I recommend the shrimp lo mein and spring rolls personally but my family enjoys their soups and chicken/broccoli dishes as well. Their white rice is always the fluffiest stickiest most divine thing in this earth. That being said, sometimes they do have issues with stocking both supplies and ingredients. I believe covid hit them hard, we still ordered but rarely did we see people do the same. We hope to see them make a full recovery to their former glory as the best Chinese this side of Roanoke.“
