“We got our food to go since the place is on the small side but the food did not disappoint. The sopes were delicious and the torta chingona was amazing. The torta can definitely Can be shared with another person since it’s on the big side (I think it was obvious from the name) I’ll definitely return!“
“At the beginning it was slightly difficult find. But we found them at the corner of Piedmont and Pershing. The tacos taste great!!I tried Pastor, Barbacoa and Carne asadaI like them all but my favorites were Pastor!I would highly recome and DEFINITELY coming back!“
“We loved having SCOOPS2U for our wedding dessert. Theo was an awesome person to have as our ice cream guy. Zach was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The entire process was easy and exciting for our guests at the event. Would highly recommend them.“
“The pit beef and turkey is delicious, never had the ham. The fries are solid; the only thing keeping me from going more often is the price. It's not bad for pit beef I think; it always tends to be a bit pricey, no matter where you go. But if you do want some pit beef and want large servings of tasty meat, this is an excellent choice.“
“Their food truck right next to my building & after my first try, I have a hard time to stop myself not getting their veggie tacos, burrito & cheese quesadilla. Cook & server are so nice & they are always quick to provide my order. There is always a line in front of their truck, either short or long line. They deserve it!“
“Absolutely delicious. The service is amazing, only topped by the food. The flavors are on point with fast and friendly service. This is our go-to lunch spot for mediterranean food. I hope they open a brick and mortar so we can have them for dinner, too. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Falafel and hummus are so yummy!“
“Glazey days food truck was up the street from my house and my daughter and I decided to stop by. When we arrived the line was out of control. That alone made me believe that we were about to receive some delicious donuts. To my surprise my instincts was right! From the customer service to the soft, warm tasty donuts, we will absolutely return. I had the caramel apple and my daughter ordered strawberry shortcake.“
“Amazing tacos! The most authentic tacos I have had in the DMV! Incredible flavor across their entire menu. The al pastor and chicken tacos are to die for. The owner was so kind! It was our first time visiting and he went out of his way to make us feel welcome! This is a must visit if you're in the area...even if you aren't, you should drive for these tacos.10/10 will eat here again!“
“Shawarma House catered our daughter's wedding reception and everyone raved about the food and thought we were geniuses for catering with a food truck! It was seamless working with Ghassan from start to finish and I am so thankful for him! Communication was easy as he was always very responsive. He made providing a delicious, hot dinner to 150 guests a breeze. He had the food all prepared and with the help of his brother-in-law he served it up quickly on demand. He exceeded expectations in both service and the quality of food. Besides being an excellent cook he is honest and kind. I highly recommend Shawarma House to anyone looking for catering.“
“My recent dining experience at Taqueria La Ceibita was a mix of moderate culinary satisfaction juxtaposed with concerns about the overall cleanliness of the establishment. The nuances of this experience prompted me to reflect on both positive and challenging aspects of my visit.Starting with the positives, the food at Taqueria La Ceibita can be characterized as average. While it met the baseline expectations for a taqueria, it didn't quite achieve the level of culinary distinction that might set it apart from other similar establishments. The menu offered a variety of traditional options, but the execution and flavor profiles were somewhat run-of-the-mill, lacking that special touch that elevates a dining experience.Where Taqueria La Ceibita faced notable challenges was in the realm of cleanliness. The overall tidiness of the establishment left much to be desired, and this impacted the overall ambiance. The dining area, tables, and even the restrooms exhibited signs of inadequate maintenance, contributing to an atmosphere that fell short of the hygiene standards one would expect from a dining establishment. The cleanliness issues were particularly apparent in the restroom facilities, a crucial element in providing a positive dining experience. Clean and well-maintained restrooms contribute significantly to the overall perception of a restaurant, and in this case, the lapses in cleanliness detracted from the overall impression. It's important to acknowledge that the staff at Taqueria La Ceibita were friendly and accommodating, which added a positive dimension to the dining experience. Their customer-centric approach contributed to a welcoming atmosphere despite the cleanliness concerns. In conclusion, Taqueria La Ceibita offers an average dining experience with a friendly staff, but the notable cleanliness issues pose a challenge to the overall ambiance. Addressing these hygiene concerns promptly would be crucial for the establishment to enhance its appeal and provide a more satisfying dining experience for patrons. The potential for improvement is evident, and with concerted efforts in maintaining“
“The shawarma sandwiches are outstanding. They come with gratuitous amounts of fresh parsley and a little pile of pickled turnips. You can make both the chicken and the beef into cheesesteaks, with feta and mozzarella, which was delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the hummus was rich, and the entire place smelled amazing. There is zero ambiance in this little shop tucked away in a warehouse park, but the food is stellar.“
“I was recommended this place by a long time local restauranteur. The owners of this truck are HIGHLY respected cooks in the county, especially the Olney area. I was a little surprised by the menu but ordered one item from each "side." I got the cubano sub which is more like a steak and cheese than a Cuban, and the carne asada platter. The food was truly outstanding and that cubano sub really blew me away. It's a delicious, unique take on the traditional Cuban sandwich. The carne asada was wonderful and the portion sizes were huge. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area. You'll be full all day!“
“I needed to plan an event in Alexandria VA from Raleigh NC recently. I had no experience with any caterers in that area, and had never even been to the venue at which our workshop would be taking place. Contacting Sinplicity Catering was a VERY lucky break for me.Working with Lisa Anthony made everything so easy. She was very communicative and helped me navigate through ever-changing headcounts and dietary restrictions, made suggestions based on our budget, and was an all-around superstar. When we found out at the last minute that delivery drivers needed special clearance to access the space to set up, she was able to get us all the information we needed fast enough to ensure the background checks went through seamlessly. Our delivery folks, Herberth and Andy, were prompt and set everything up quickly and quietly and never disturbed the event going on in the same room. They were really delightful guys. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially given the level of service we had. Everyone loved the food and were spotted taking the fun array of afternoon snacks with them to sub in for the boring airplane snacks they were sure to get on the way home.We ordered the Hearty Breakfast buffet with coffee, tea, and juices; then for lunch the Hickory House Hot Duo buffet with some vegan and vegetarian options; then for the afternoon, a selection of snacks including trail mix snack bags (with cute, custom M&Ms!), sinchex (homemade chex mix), and lots of their Taterdoodles cookies. We had tea, lemonade, cranberry lemonade, and some really delicious Arnold Palmers to accompany all of this.I seriously wish Lisa, Herberth, and Andy would move to Raleigh and set up a satellite branch of Sinplicity Catering so I could use them more!“
“I have 1200+ reviews and this might be a yelp first for me, as a perpetually broke person.... but you're not charging enough!! $12.99 for a bowl and I got 3 meals out of it. Maybe you could have Large or Small bowls (like I'd order a $8 small lunch bowl when I don't want 2 days of leftovers!!) Idk that's just my little suggestion. As for the food, I had asked for no cilantro which was ignored. I see that was a problem on another review. Hey, my 23&me says I'm genetically linked to dislike cilantro. And it's true!! I picked the gigantic flakes out as best I could but it does bother me for people who have food allergies when you say "no xxx" it should be listened to more seriously so that's an area for growth. I also ordered a side of fries and I thought they were supposed to be seasoned fries but there was no seasoning... which made me think well maybe I just ordered plain fries??? I'm still not sure haha maybe that's how they were supposed to be. I know I sound really critical in my review but I'm still rating 4 stars and WILL be making return trips and I believe I'll be bumping it up to 5 stars in a future review - as long as they leave that cilantro off!!!“
“Really great tacos and burritos for a fair price, considering the quality. haven't tried the quesadillas yet but I intend to soon. I guess two things you may want to know before walking up to tie their truck are: 1)They don't have fish, so no fish tacos, but they have an impressive selection of other meats. And 2) They make everything to order, and there's only 2 people working, so at the beginning of lunchtime it can take a little bit to order and receive your food. But it really is good food, with 2 different cups of spicy sauces.“
“Nice upscale looking place and food is nice. Flavors and spices make the meal nice. Some places don’t fry empanadas and some do. Don’t serve food with so much oil. At least let it sit on paper towel to absorb the oil before serving. Churros were good.I’ve traveled to Mendoza several times for personal travel and many beautiful places in South America and other continents. Some cultures fry and don’t fry empanadas.“
