“We frequent Embassy Suites in Virginia Beach often since they opened, and we always make several visits to Article’s Bar and Grill. The only reason this post isn’t a 1star review is because of Christian and Tripp both went above and beyond with their customer service. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They are a true asset behind the bar and know how to make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, we did have a very awkward and unpleasant encounter with another bartender (Lori) on two separate visits. We weren’t the only ones who noticed, her attitude came across as rude and unhappy to be there, which made customers uncomfortable. The first time, we let it go because everyone can have an off day. But the second time, her energy was even worse. I did bring it up to a manager on site, and I truly hope it gets addressed because that type of experience can easily drive customers away. Aside from that, the wings were delicious, and the drinks that Christian and Tripp prepared were great. Until next time—we’re hoping for a better experience overall.“

“If you are feeling adventurous, I encourage to take the drive to this restaurant especially if you love espresso martinis. Every time I go, everything is consistent. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing as well. Menu has many options. The owner is also hands on and is welcoming to guests and appreciative of anyone who comes to this establishment and makes everyone feels valued. “Went on a Sunday night and figured they would be busy because it was Valentines weekend. There was a long line when they opened. Had buffalo cauliflower and garlic fries. The garlic fries were everything. The pizza my husband and I shared was very good too. We had apple crisp for dessert which was also good. The only negative was the grapefruit hot honey margarita was a bit salty.“

“I went to Quemar Wood-Fired Cocina this past weekend and visit with my friend & Executive Chef Jeff Ullom and the experience was nothing less than Phenomenal!! The food preparation & artistry with presentation is amazing visually, more importantly absolutely delicious to say the least. “Ate here Thursday the 10th, food was tasty. The parking was confusing as there were signs all over of the risk of being towed. Asked someone in parking lot how the restaurant is. They stated very rustic but food is good. Our server Lindsey was awesome. Choice of beer on tap was mostly IPAs, not our favorites. Not many Craft beers available. I got the DB Vienna Lager which is always a good fall back when there's nothing else. The IPA my partner had was your typical grapefruity bitter IPA, not good. We ordered a dozen Clams Casino which were made to perfection! And we shared the Blackened Tuna cooked medium served on a roll. Yummy. It came with a little cup of wasabi a little too intense for our taste buds so we asked for tartar sauce instead. This came with a generous amount of Hush Puppies with butter on the side. I have never been offered butter with my Hush Puppies but I will be asking for it this way from now on, delish. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.“

“This is without a doubt one of the best family Mexican restaurants in Virginia. I'm from the West Coast and lived on the best Mexican food available where the ladies made corn tortillas by hand in front of you. While no Mexican restaurant does that here on the East Coast, you won't believe how good the food is at the Shore Drive, Tequila Jalisco. (Don't waste your time going to the other Tequila Jalisco's as it all depends on the chief.) The best chilies relleno I've ever eaten and each one of their steak dishes are unbelievably tasty, or go for the fajitas or one of their big fat burritos and be sure to treat yourself to their home made guacamole with chunks of avocado, all with a well made margarita. It took me a long time to find a decent Mexican restaurant here in Virginia Beach, but I've now found a home with friendly servers and a warm atmosphere. Life can be so good...“

“My wife and I come here often for special occasions! Last night, we celebrated my wife’s birthday. Casey was our server and she was so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She consistently checked up on us and made the experience amazing. Of course, a reason to come to the Hunt Room is the atmosphere. So romantic and cozy. Had live music which only added to the experience. Our food and drinks were perfect and my wife said it was the best birthday dinner ever. “Jazmín was our server when we happened to find this place for lunch. From the outside you may think its a little hole in the wall but WOW! the food was so good! I ordered steak tacos and was asked by Jazmín if I wanted flour or corn tortillas. I told her corn were usually falling apart. She told me they MAKE their corn tortillas and they were her favorite so I went with corn. Let me tell you, they were so frigging good I would go back just to get tacos with the corn tortillas! Great suggestion! She was really friendly and I definitely will be back. Check this place out....and go for the corn tortillas!“

“We came in with a group of 25 people at 8:30pm and were welcomed in and sat quickly. Holly was very accommodating to our large group of kids and adults. Our servers, Elaina and Madalena were wonderful! They were friendly and so patient with our group and all of our separate checks. They easily kept track of all the different groups. Our food was all correct and hot and tasted delicious. We had a great last night of our Softball tournament week!“
