“Always great service & great food. I do travel sales and this is always my go-to to bring vendor reps. As someone who grew up in Philly, by far best cheese steak I’ve had since I’ve moved here. Always great specials, if you’re looking for something besides a basic sandwich or burger, this is the place to go.“

“Super-fun experience at the culinary experience at the Essex Resort in Essex, VT. Our instructor, Denise, led us through the recipes and techniques to create a wonderful Vermont dinner that included roasted root vegetables, braised chicken (in dark beer and demi-glacé) with shallots and a variety of mushrooms, and a lovely kale salad. We were given the opportunity to decorate autumn themed sugar cookies as well as dip tiny apples into a luscious caramel coating. A small group of 9 students made the experience very intimate. Our meal was served with wine and fresh bread accompanied by an herbed compound butter. Denise was a perfect instructor and I would recommend the experience to anyone who loves to cook.“

“I cannot say enough good things about Bevo. I never once had to worry about a thing. Kathleen and her staff thought of everything. From our first meeting, we knew we were in good hands. Kathleen was so helpful and knowledgeable about the whole process and offered tons of ideas for things we hadn't even thought of. We were able to create our own menu (build your own tacos as well as a mac and cheese bar) and Kathleen offered excellent suggestions of things to go with it. You name it, and Bevo can do it. Leading up the the wedding, Kathleen was great about checking in and seeing if we needed help with anything. The day of the wedding was wonderful. The entire Bevo staff was kind, attentive and incredibly professional. The chefs out-did themselves, we are still getting compliments from our guests about the delicious food and the abundance of it. Throughout the evening, the staff would bring my wife and I water, reminding us to stay hydrated. They were all so sweet and everything went so smoothly. At the end of the evening, they provided us with two large bags full of food for us to take home, which was a real life saver the next few days with all our family in town. Between the delicious food, and the wonderful staff, we will be recommending Bevo to everyone we see. They are without a doubt the best catering company!“

“We were on town for work and found this place on Google maps. The food was very good and the portions were more than big enough. The garlic parm fries were so delicious. It's a shame that we love so far away because I would be in there all the time just for those. I have a feeling if I try to recreate that garlic sauce, I am going to be dissatisfied.“

“We love the Essex and come here every time we travel to VT. The staff are responsive and friendly, the rooms are clean, cozy, and comfy. The one warning we would give is to say that the price that you book for is nowhere near what you get charged for at checkout. There are extra add on charges on the bill that “tax” your imagination. My favorite burger to get here is the Vermonter. Apples, bacon, maple BBQ. Cheddar cheese.

Rodeo Burger is also very good.

Sundays are half priced burger days. You cannot beat that price for what you get. This is a regular spot for us.“

“I don’t understand all of the hate for the employees. Sure they get busy, maybe a bit under staffed like every other restaurant but don’t blame the employees, contact the owner. And if you didn’t make a reservation don’t complain about what tables are available at the exact time you arrive, feel free to wait like everyone else who doesn’t share your sense of entitlement. I had dinner here 3 times this week, the food was consistent, cooked as I ordered and timely. I would think any glaring deficiencies would present themselves in 3 visits in one week, and I would be happy to share them if that was the case. I’ll be back next week and I’ll be sure to let you know if the exact table I want is not available immediately upon my arrival and I will certainly raise hell if there is any water on my table. The fact there is a response to every negative review should tell you something.“
