“Was at the Coop n Middlebury on Saturday. My husband and I saw this bread……a 32oz loaf of this beautiful, Italian bread. We both have Italian roots, so you know how Italians are with 🥖 bread!! We bought a loaf of the Pane Siciliano…… we will now probably never buy another brand of bread… we are hooked. This bread is better than the local bakery bread we grew up on as kids!! And it’s even better that we found it’s sold at 2 local stores in Rutland!!! Thank you 😊“

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go“

“Royal Orchid has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Montpelier whenever I'm craving Thai food. I've been on a serious Thai food kick lately, and every meal I've had here has completely hit the spot.

One of my favorites is the fried rice with squid. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. It's the kind of meal that keeps you thinking about it afterward.

The atmosphere is also really welcoming. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes the whole dining experience feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.

The only thing that surprised me was the dessert selection. After such a strong meal, I found myself wishing there were a few more dessert options to choose from. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, but it was one of the few areas where I felt there could be a little more variety.

Overall, if you're looking for great Thai food in Montpelier, Royal Orchid is absolutely worth visiting. Great food, welcoming service, and a consistently enjoyable experience.“

“Just want to start by saying Pho Capital has genuinely become one of those places I accidentally think about way too often. Like I’ll be minding my business and suddenly I’m in a full pho/Pad Thai craving spiral.

I tried the chicken Pad Thai and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was sooo good. Like dangerously good. The kind where you tell yourself you’ll save some for later and then… you absolutely do not.

Also got the chicken dumplings and ?? why were they THAT good. And whatever spicy sauce they serve with them needs a warning label because it will fully wake you up. Not like “oh a little kick”—no, like hello, you are alive, feel everything type of spice.

But what really threw me (in the best way) was the smoothies. At a place like this?? Unexpected. They’re more like a slushy consistency but in a good way… like freezing, brain-freeze-inducing, perfect after getting humbled by the spice. Actually kind of obsessed !!

Overall, 10/10 experience. I went in for a casual meal and left emotionally attached to the menu :)“

“What a gem of a spot! Easily the tastiest pizza in town! A higher price point than other places in town and worth every extra cent. The person who greeted and helped us was so welcoming and helpful. They also made a very tasty drink! we got our food to go, but ended up hanging out to play the Godzilla pinball machine in back. Woodbelly was incredibly inviting and has such great atmosphere, friendly hardworking staff, and absolutely amazing pizza!“

“Thank goodness for a place that specializes in tea and coziness and has robust gluten-free options. The owner makes me feel like I’m coming downstairs from a bed-and-breakfast in Ireland and being welcomed. It’s all smiles and warmth and kindness along with delicious smells and flavors.

“Smoothies and pastries are delicious!! Every order has been fantastic. I think my favorite smoothie (so far) was the island time and my favorite pastry is the almond croissant! Highly recommend! 😁“

“No exaggeration, I’ve ordered this 4x in the last 2 weeks. Burrito fillings are seasoned perfectly and portioned properly. Salsa on it’s own is also amazing. They also have seitan tacos and yam burrito bowl, which I haven’t tried yet because I can’t get past the black bean burrito. Highly recommend! Updated from previous review on 2026-06-14“
