“The chicken was dry but the waffle fries were the best I’d had.Hi guys, I can’t reply to your reply, so I’ll write here that it’s the location tagged to this review on Route 7. I hope that helps!”
“The people were great the food was awesome what a great place to sit out on the deck and watch the sunsetMy wife and my sister-in-law had the fish they said it was the best fish they ever ate I had a steak it was really good”
“Fresh food prepared in front of you. Clean rest stop. Coffee and hot chocolate as well as a myriad of soft drinks, wine, beer, snacks, travel items, newspapers.....etc.”
“Have been there for lunch the last three Saturdays and it is great! Because it is a popular place with an interesting balance between bar and restaurant customers, they do a great job taking care of both. I read some other comments about length of time to get food, while I did not experience that, here is an observation....this restaurant cooks everything to order...it is not simply thrown on a plate food, it is high quality and busy at times. I personally love going and am now there (at least) once a week and will be,”
“Classic sandwich shop feel with generous menu selections. Guy cooking was fantastic, friendly and kind, great with the kids and their weird requests. He made it much more fun for them!I got the roast beef cheddar melt and it was fantastic! Big enough for 2 meals for me and he even wrapped it up for me rather than just handing me a box.Keep in mind fries are not on the menu. Breakfast served all day!Street parking right out front.Limited but sufficient seating indoors.”
“Best and only real barista in Rutland! She knows how to steam the milk and texture it properly. Others just put the wand in the milk and start steaming...thats not steaming the milk! If you like real steam milked from an espresso machine, come here.”
“stopped at mary's after leaving killington mt. for a snowboarding trip. very cute. definetly a local spot. the staff was very nice and friendly. all of the food came out quickly and was delicious ! the monte cristo (not pictured) was awesome ! good maple syrup.”
“Masala Corner really exceeded my expectations, I’m glad I came in. I came by myself (and missed the buffet, which is only on Wednesday) so I didn’t get to try many things, but everything was flavorful, spicy, and fresh - much better than most of the indian places near me in NYC, and better than anywhere else I’ve eaten in Rutland. I’ll be back with a bigger group!”
“Hey name is Alex and I own “Hair Force One” on Stratton Road and a client of mine gave me a gift card to West St., Grill… I finally decided to use it this evening being February 16 and asked my son to join me so we went… We were seated immediately. The waitress was awesome, the bartender was super friendly!… We ordered soup first that was dynamite!… The main course came and it was so good we inhaled it !…. Seriously, I do not cook whatsoever therefore I eat out and this restaurant rocks.!!….. Everybody has got to try this place, you will not be disappointed!!”
“Lovely food, service and ambience. The restaurant was laid back but the food was high end. A great place for quiet conversation and comfortable delicious dining. Def recommend.”
“Cozy little cabin with old school counter service and basic eats with a home cooked feel. We got a couple of breakfast sandwiches to go and some gifts for friends.Solid range of maple products. Various maple syrups, jams, maple sugar, maple cookies, maple candies, maple popcorn, etc and a souvenir shop downstairs.”
“The food is yummy! Calzones are great but not my favorite type of pizza! The fried food is amazing totally addicting chicken tenders! The service is fantastic and there are some of the nicest people in town and the prices are very fair!”
“Donuts Anyone??!! This IS the place! They open so early so you can (and should) stop before work!! Easy to get to and they even have a drive through. Love their donuts and cookies too!! Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.”
“THEY CHANGED HOURS… Thursday Friday And Saturday they’re open 8-8 and do wood fired pizza! Look on their instagram for more information!!! Amazing place one of my favorite spots in town! As a local this place is just amazing they remember your names the staff is amazing. The food is fantastic some of the best pizza I’ve ever had (worth the price to me!). Also they got new owners in June of 2023 amazing people, local family, super invested and have definitely seen an uptick in quality and menu items! A new name change is coming soon can’t wait Vegetarian options: There’s street parking in front of the bakery and behind the bakery! When busy it’s difficult to find parking but usually can find parking within a 2 minute walk, all free!Dietary restrictions: Gluten and vegetarian options for pizza nights. Expanding their gluten free options for baked goods and desserts. Lots of vegetarian options!”
“Great beer and atmosphere. As someone newish to the area, we felt welcome as soon as we walked in for the first time...and ever since. The events are really special - we've enjoyed amazing food, super entertaining musical offerings, and a small town atmosphere, in the best possible way. And a special thank you to Andy for helping Red Clover be the place where "everyone knows your name." Red Clover is one of our favorite places in Brandon! ? ”
“Drinks were good, service was quick even with quite a few people there. Was one creepy old guy, but he was promptly removed by staff. Was a woman playing some live music which was a nice touch for new years.”
“Food was good . During my last visit I started with the meatball and BBQ shrimp followed by the burger that's was cooked to medium perfectly and maple glazed salmon. All was wonderful The only thing I could ask for is for the food to be ”
“Food was incredible. You can't leave without trying brisket. Pork and turkey are also really good. Everything home made, and pickles and pickles onions incredible. Really good onion smoked beans and grits. Incredible food, all homemade.Dietary restrictions: Clean food for people with dietary restrictions like me”
“I didn’t pre order your quiche and by chance stopped by late Christmas Eve , and you had extras made .The most heavenly quiches I’ve ever had!!!The most delicious Salmon , Swiss cheese and sweet pea, I loved it . Thank you !!!!”
“I must say my omelet was THE BEST OMELET IVE HAD IN AGES! The staff was great and super friendly. The place was packed with all sorts of happy people! The atmosphere is fantastic, lots of good vibes! So many interesting things to look at. I will definately be return9ng ”
“Pizza was great. Atmosphere was nice. The service was not so great. Our server never checked on us, never refilled our drinks etc. Probably will give it another try and hopefully the service will be a little better next time.”
“Visiting from nyc I expected medium quality sushi given Rutland is pretty inland and in more of a farm area. Their fish was some of the best. Phenomenal Chirashi - every piece of fish was good, some phenomenal.”
“Food was great, we didn't have to wait long at all. Fair prices and large portions.Kid-friendliness: My daughter was happy with her burger, she ate the whole thing! They also have ice cream! She didn't particularly enjoy all the taxidermy displays on the wall though. I got asked lots of questions about how the animals got up there.”
“Everything about this place was perfect. Being I travel a lot I love to go to small business restaurants before going to a food chain place and the pizza was so good. The knots were so good even after a couple of days.”
“My new weekly ritual on Tuesday is to order my dinner from Avellinos. Rigatoni with meatballs and Italian sausage. Homemade Italian bread also included. For the price...usually $11, you get your to go container full of delicious pasta with sauce and parmesan cheese. Don't care where you dine in Rutland...for the price, you get enough food for at least 2 meals. Plus I get to support a local business, and a fellow moose lodge member. If you haven't called them before, perhaps give them a call sometime for dinner on a day you're unsure of your dinner plans. You won't be disappointed. I believe orders are taken from 4-7pm. Take out of course.”
“Grabbed a smash burger. It was absolutely amazing! The food truck is right across my shop so I decided to give it a try, and I am glad I did!My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and that’s ? too!Great staff, friendly and very fast service!”
“Hear me out on this one…I have been a bagel enthusiast my whole life. I eat a bagel almost every single day and have done so for many years. The bagel with cream cheese that I ordered here was hands down the best that I have had in my life. The bagel was somewhat hard/crunchy on outside but also soft on the inside. The dough was just the perfect level of saltiness and the cream cheese at the perfect consistency from the warm bagel. I wish I could buy some bagels from them frozen online or something. I will be stopping again next time I’m passing through to Killington.”
“I finally stopped in here for a sandwich and instantly knew it would be good (I recently moved here from north jersey where they know a thing or 2 about good delis). There was a long line but it moved very quickly. (In my opinion a long line is a sign the place is good). The smell of a real authentic Italian style deli caught my attention right away after walking through the door. I got a large ham, salami and provolone which was INCREDIBLE. The bread, the meat, the toppings were all fresh. I walked out with a great sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda for about $15. Will definitely be back soon.”
“Nice, cozy place! Owner is super personable and has a great chef. Food was excellent and service was fast despite being packed. Would definitely visit again if I’m ever back in town!”
“Came here with my friend, her husband, and their 1 year old. The hostess seated us at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. There was a 4 top open that wasn't set yet but she did not offer it to us. Maybe 10 mins later a couple walked in and they also did not have a reservation and were seated at the 4 top. Seriously? Our party had 3 adults and a kid and they seated us at the bar and the couple got seated at a 4 top? A bit annoying to say the least... Appetizer was good although the spinach-artichoke dip was a bit oily. Food was pretty good as well. Waffle fries were hot and coleslaw was delish with the fresh herbs. However, my fried chicken thighs were a bit dry and overcooked and definitely nowhere near as hot as my fries. Kind of disappointing for a place known for its fried chicken. Fairly small place on the inside. Next time I will know to call ahead and make a reservation. Despite the annoyance with the seating and lackluster fried chicken, my friends enjoyed their meals and our server was very friendly and attentive. The place is cute, one of those true VT gems and I will most likely be coming back (and hopefully the chicken will be hotter and moister next time!).”
