“We went to Kipling's last night and it was wonderful. We were greeted very warmly and the atmosphere was a lovely, well kept, old tavern atmosphere. We had fries as an appetizer, I had a burger and my husband had a fried chicken sandwich, both on delicious local brioche and with a side of yummy caesar salad. For desert we had the chocolate bombe, which was also fantastic. We didn't have to wait long for each course; they were well timed. Will definitely be going back next time we're in Brattleboro!“

“We started at the oyster shucking bar and had the pleasure of interacting with Maddie, and we enjoyed a delicious craft cocktail. Then we moved to the dining area for our reservation. We ordered gnocchi and mushroom fettuccine, both incredible. The table bread with olive oil soaked sun dried tomato was superb. We also ordered truffle mashed potatoes and a chocolate mousse to-go! The bartender was very knowledgeable and eloquently recited the many detailed specials with ease. Very friendly, cozy, and innovative environment. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: They can accommodate and have vegetarian/vegan optionsWheelchair accessibility: Door with ramp entrance to left side of building“

“It’s not your typical seat an be served cafe/restaurant. They have a delightful counter staff that will take your order the kitchen staff will make it an usually one of them brings it to your table that they give you a number for an then you are responsible for picking up and separating your waste from recycling down to your trash in the appropriate buckets. I have been frequently showing up at this cafe since I found it and I must admit it is a great spot, minutes from Walpole NH and other fun local towns! Grab a bite!! Explore!“

“This is the best dining experience I've had in ages. First, the chef deserves a Michelin star or two. I've been to Michelin-starred restaurants that don't compare to this one in terms of food. Second, an intimate atmosphere and an open kitchen where you can watch the craftsmanship of the chef make it really unique. The restaurant is worth traveling for.“

“The fries were a huge amount for the price and for a little bit more we got their cheese sauce on them. It's everything we ever wanted from cheese fries. Tasted just like childhood concession stand cheese fries if not better. Amazing! Great price and great food!“

“If you're from the area you know how limited the options are in the immediate area of Walpole NH and Bellows Falls VT. I would put The Hungry Diner in at least the top 5 greatest places to eat in the area. Don't let the name fool you, because when I think diner this place offers almost zero similarities to anything I would conjure in my mind relating to a "diner". What makes this excellent? The food is consistently great. The service is consistently great. And what more could one really hope for from a good restaurant? It's clean and inviting. Has everything from a great list of local craft brews on tap to the one of the best milkshakes I've had in the area (Sorry Walpole Creamery and Dari Joy). The prices may not be the friendliest if you are on a tight budget, but man is the food just consistently great! Price point would be the only real criticism I could give, but being in business myself I know you can't get both cheap and high quality at the same time. This place remains one of our top places to eat in the area, with the other being just across the river at Wunderbar in Bellows Falls. So, if you haven't tried either of these places you don't know what your missing out on. We would consider ourselves "foodies", I say this only to provide a point of reference for our tastes. Haven't had bad food there yet. Hope this helps!“

“I stopped in for dinner while visiting Vermont for work. The interior is beautiful: the dining area is lots of wood and metal with old motorcycles on display, and the bright, clean open kitchen with its gleaming copper oven in the center is great eye candy while you wait for your food.I've never had anything like the eggplant fries, which were crispy just before melting in my mouth, and are a must if you like eggplant. The garlic parmesan cauliflower was crunchy with lots of garlic flavor coming through - a nice "healthy" option. For protein I went with the chicken tenders which were great, but nothing unexpected there.Service was very friendly. I sat at a large common table as the private tables were reserved, but the hostess let me know that I could have a private table if I wanted when a reservation was canceled. My server had a bubbly personality and was helpful in explaining the menu. The crowd was mostly adult, but I noticed a family with kids having a good time. The place is a little noisy, but it's a very positive energy. Prices are very agreeable; I spent more on a similarly sized meal at a chain restaurant in Lebanon, NH. There aren't many restaurants in the area, but this one should have you covered if you're looking for a solid meal with a nifty atmosphere.“

“We are pleased to share our experience at NEH for our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner! Both Selma and Kurt were amazingly accommodating to work with as we planned this event! When the power went out we thought that the event would be a bust. However, Kurt, (owner and chef) managed to pull off cooking all of the 16 meals . We had everything from apps to desserts served by waitstaff using flashlights on their phones. Truly an event to remember! According to the 4- year old flower girl “This is so fun, just like camping!”In summary, the food was amazing, everyone was great to work with and it was still a wonderful event regardless of the weather !❤️Thank you New England House….Kurt and Selma and staff!John and Linda Rowell“

“What are cute place to have a wonderful lunch at a beautiful setting. As we left the restaurant, we saw an apartment building next to restaurant - I said to my wife, "if I lived in that building, I think I'd be eating at the Marina everyday!" On the day of our visit, we started by taking some pictures right at the waterfront edge - we got some beautiful photos, and even saw a few people out kayaking on the water. Once we sat down, our waiter Adam quickly approached and offered drinks and a few specials for the holiday. We had the ham and haddock entrees, both of which were tasty and accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. The entire meal including drinks, tip and tax still averaged less than $30 per person which is a value for all that was delivered. This restaurant is about a mile from the downtown Brattleboro area, but well worth a small trip for a beautiful view, great service, and wonderful food.“

“I really enjoy hanging out at this place. They have an incredible selection of draft beers and a good variety of tasty snacks. I prefer sitting out back on the deck, it’s super chill. We like to stop in on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and have a beer or two and just relax.“

“One of the top five meals of my life. Mushroom and asparagus risotto for me, steak and potatoes for my husband with an ACTUAL garlic scape on top. Wine and atmosphere as good as it gets. All of the staff friendly and accommodating. A must do over for us anytime we can get back to Vermont!“
