“I truly believe every neighborhood has a special place that turns the neighborhood from a location to a community. I found a Muddy Cup when I was lost, and it quickly became my haven, my bastion of community, and some days, the only place that felt like home.

I have met friends, lovers, enemies, and so so so many dogs.

The kind staff everyone speaks of are the owners. They run their business as ethically as humanly possible. They're there every single day of the week to provide you with the best damn coffee in the area. And when I say the area, I mean the pacific north west. I think the only technically superior coffee might be Beware coffee in Tacoma, but those dudes are huge coffee science nerds and in the delivery of technically perfect coffee, they lose a lot of the humanity A Muddy Cup provides.

Look, if you're still reading this: go. go to a Muddy Cup. it's quaint, it's kitschy, it's nothing at all like Starbucks, outside of the consistency of product. Except this product is chosen and roasted in house weekly and the people there actually care about your well being.

“This is one of the most welcoming (and Deaf friendly) businesses in Seattle. I come here once a week with a group of Deaf and signing individuals and the manager takes all of our orders in sign language. Within a couple weeks they learned everyone’s names. The space is gorgeous and a wonderful place to hang out with friends.“

“Don't judge the book by its cover -- this place seems run down on the outside, but once you're inside it's the real deal. GREAT coffee. The baristas know what they are doing. If you're more of a tea person, their tea lattes are wonderful -- I had a chai latte and I'm so used to disappointing ones from most cafes. The torture of this bad job is that I have to continue to find coffee shop jobs every weekend. Today I went to this chain store. It is very suitable for working because everyone around me is working. There is also a community room inside that can be reserved online and used.

I ordered a latte and a cup of matcha. The milk froth of the matcha was very thick. The latte was good and the aroma was good, but the matcha was just average.“

“Delicious coffee and baked goods, as well as friendly and inviting baristas! We got banana bread and walnut coffee cake, both moist and flavorful.

With 2 drinks and 2 baked goods, our total (including tip) was around $30.

“I used to visit this location frequently back in the day when the spot was owned by Urban Coffee Lounge. I recently found out about The Art of Coffee from a friend a few weeks ago. I have visited several times since then and it's some of the best coffee that I have had. Everyone who works there is super friendly with great customer service. I was there yesterday doing some work and after I ordered my coffee, the head manager brought my coffee right to my table. The chairs are also super comfortable if you are going to be there for a while. Great spot!!!

I always buy a hot latte every time I pass by. Today I ordered an extra Quiche - Spinach Feta for $7.50. The clerk was very considerate and informed me of the price before confirming whether I really need it.

There are not many dining places in the store, but the space is large. If you come to downtown or Pike market, I recommend giving it a try.“
