“We rented a house at Suncadia for Thanksgiving. I make a traditional fish stew/chowder on Black Friday. This year I was constrained by two granddaughters whose nursing mothers had to avoid dairy. I decided to make a cioppino/bouillabaisse tomato/saffron fish stew instead. I was further constrained by one daughter-in-law deathly allergic to bivalves! So I went to Gemini on Wednesday to put in an order and boy did they come through! This was for 16: 2 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp, 2 lbs cleaned squid and tentacles, 1-1/2 lbs Halibut cheeks, 1-1/2 lbs black cod in 2" square chunks & 1 lb Dungeness crab meat (an extra lb for stuffed mushroom hors d'oeuvres) + 2 containers of shellfish free fish stock. Everything from Gemini was superb. I was particularly impressed that the crabmeat was free of all cartilage and the squid had all beaks and cartilage removed. Likewise the peeled and deveined shrimp (with tail attached) were immaculate. I could not recommend them more highly.“
