“I'm a huge fan of Salvadorian food and this is one of my favorite spots next to the place I ate outside of Savannah, Georgia. Spectacular flavor, perfectly cooked food, impeccably clean food and space. Really nice folks too. Wish I would have been hungrier so I could have sampled more of the menu, but anytime I'm anywhere near this place I'll be making a detour to try it again. Really cool tile mural outside of the restaurant too, and very nice little town that is really well kept.“

“The food was delicious. I only docked a star because of the price of the tacos. I got the quesabirria con consome(don't think I spelled that right) they were greasy but crisp and cheesy and had a lot of flavor. They serve chips, salsa, and beans to every table. The salsa was very mild. Little to no spice, but they definitely made up for that with the salsa that they serve with the food. I regretted underestimating the spice! My partner got the sopes and seemed to really enjoy them. He did say they were around the same price as the street tacos but much more filling for the price. I also got a mojito i thoroughly enjoyed. It was just strong enough and very refreshing.“

“I always try and eat here when I'm in town.We had a great dinner. Our server seemed very busy. He was very attentive but a little pushy. He took a plate away without asking, and we hadn't finished yet. I'm so thankful he didn't take my Pico de Gallo, I packed it all the way back to tri cities!“

“I had no idea that Los Hernandez Tamales had a second location. I was really questioning the GPS when it was leading us there but it didn't lead us astray at all. I knew only of the Union Gap location which is not far from the Interstate and just a little south of the Yakima city limits. But this location does indeed have a Yakima address. In some ways I like this location a little more. There is just a few more tables and seats at this location than the other and if you want a beer to go with your meal you can have one. Menu is a little bit expanded as well which I am sure is good but we can never pass up these James Beard award winning tamales when we are in the area. The tamales are as good as ever. I had a pork one and a Jalapeño one and they were just out of sight like they always are. We get the meal usually and the rice and beans that comes along with the tamales are just stellar. So very glad to know that another location exists in Yakima. It's a bit of a drive from the Interstate, twenty minutes about but the extra bonuses would make it worth it not that the Union Gap location doesn't deserve just as much love.“

“First off the staff is very friendly and always smiling. Even in the middle of a lunchtime rush they are always polite and I want to thank them for that. Next and most important is their food, it's amazing! The fried quesadillas, to the amazing tacos, incredible burritos and all! The salsa tastes great too! If you like it hot and spicy go red on the salsa but if you like great flavor with mild heat go with the green which is my favorite. I want to say thank you to the everyone work there! Keep making amazing food :)“
