“Dine in restaurant quality food with takeout process due to it being in a gas station/ mini market location. There is a place to dine but it's not a good environment to sit and really enjoy a good meal. I would rate the service & atmosphere higher with improvements - please stop using styrofoam food containers, use biodegradable plastics/straws, and clean the tables regularly.“

“Literally one of my favorite restaurants in all of Yakima. Food is always excellent, fast service, friendly staff. Been going here since I was a little girl, meeting my dad and having family lunch here now I bring my family and friends here and we don't even live in Selah anymore. We make the drive from West valley, usually about 45 minutes, and its always worth it. Amazing salsa! The staff is the best too, a lot of the same people have been working here for years and always remember us. Definitely recommend!

“Good enough for a quick meal, young cashier was nice and professional. You went through the drive-through. It took us about a minute to order. My son couldn’t decide and she was patient enough to wait we didn’t dine in we went through the drive-through.

Parking: Most of the time there’s enough parking, I wouldn’t recommend going through the drive-through with a trailer though awfully tight

Kid-friendliness: I’ve been hearing enough that I could see. Yes, it is kid friendly just depends on what kind of clients walk in.

Wheelchair accessibility: I believe I did see a ramp for a wheelchair.“

“Love this place! It’s my husband’s and I favorite spot to go on our weekly dates.
The servers know us by now and always know what we want and they have been wonderful at making their food vegan for me.
Everything is healthy and not covered in oil. Couldn’t say enough.
My only wish would be that they had tofu on their menu as an alternative option.

“Working from home today, and feeling a little too lazy to cook, I took to googling places near me. I do remember a handful of friends telling me about the Cali burrito from JJs. And oh man it did not disappoint. If you want flavor and spices, get the Adobada Cali burrito. This thing paired with the green and red salsa I was provided, was just too damn good. Some might complain about the price, but I think $14 and it being super good is a clear indication of you get what you pay for. Want something cheap? Go to the gas station. That being said, I WILL be returning here for my burrito fix from now on :)“

“The owner responded to my last review said I got the tacos mixed up with another place and he was right. I mixed them up with a place that’s down the road from them! Then I remembered this place to a T!
This place when I came was packed with guys sitting in front drinking beer in their paper bags, getting wasted out front just staring. No where to sit. Only some of those guys were eating most/almost all drinking.. If you’re female, be warned you are going to be gawked at!!
The food was good. Tacos were good, the torta we got the bread was burnt. We only tried the asada and it was pretty good decent. Overall the place is good but parking sucks, sitting and eating there was not an option. The wait time did take awhile, but it was busy. I would come back, but maybe not on a Saturday!“

My suggestion lower drink prices 2-3 dollars or serve it in a fishbowl and have a rotating drink special that make people want to show up in droves. I have to share what they nailed and just got it right! The rice and beans had the right amount of seasoning, almost up to abuelas standards, probably better than your mom but still not as good as your suegra. The crisp on the asada was 🔥 and didn't need salt, it was like a machaca crisp with asada flavor. I would like to see at least one more traditional carne option like cabeza or carnitas supreme 🤤 and I feel like maybe I need to scope out the camarones next time, I'll let y'all know but overall la experiencia fue buena please check it out and enjoy“

“This truck came to a lunch event at my school, and when I tell you they had the BEST shredded pork quesadillas I've ever had, I mean it. I love Mexican food, and I’ve had many a quesadilla in my life. But in Yakima, this food truck is unmatched. I finished my food and immediately wanted more. The line was thirty minutes (there were a LOT of people) because all the students knew their food was amazing.

The last one isn’t really a big deal, but when there are small issues like that 1/3 of the time, it can feel like sort of a gamble, which is disappointing Overall I’d still recommend El Ranchero, though, because the quality/value is still strong all put together, and one of the girls who works here is incredibly nice—so I’d still say five stars overall, just with the caveat that consistency could be a little better.“
