Service was excellent. There was a 20-30 minute wait. The room has horrific acoustics, so it was quite loud.“

“My husband and I had Saltadena do our wedding cake this summer. The cake was absolutely delicious - there was NONE LEFT at the end of the night! And there was PLENTY made to go around, but I had friends telling me they had probably eaten three or four pieces! Nancy was great to work with and worked with our day-of coordinator to get the cake delivered to our outdoor wedding during the reception so that we didn't have to worry about the heat. Perfect cake!“

“We lived, year around, 17 + years in Southern Arizona and know the great quality Mexican restaurant cuisine very well, especially from the best in the city of South Tucson. In Whatcom County, I added the New Mexico Tamale Company as the very best place to buy tamales when you don’t have the time nor skills to make your own. It’s. est to pre-order, about 2 weeks ahead, for your order to be filled. Suggestion: When placing your order, request them to add more Santa Fe mild chile puree to the selected meat or chicken product or they might be on the dry side when re-heated (steamed). Excellent service. Good quality. Their tamales are well balanced between the filling and the masa. The secret to evaluating good tamales from bad ones is whether the company mixes an adequate amount of red chile puree to the masa when mixing, to enhance the full flavor profile. The New Mexico Tamale Company does it right! Theirs are very close to the way we used to make our beef tamales at home (we usually made 12 dozen every November, for the freezer. “Not only is the food at this place amazing--including a WIDE variety of options--the team at El Capitan is unbeatable. We so loved the joint that we decided to host our wedding after party at El Capitan. We were able to work directly with the owner, Marc Ravais, to coordinate one of their BOMB karaoke DJs for the party, and Marc himself bartended for us in the back pirate-themed party and dining room. Our guests had a fantastic time, and Marc made it all SO EASY!

The place was very clean. the ONLY reason I cannot give this a place a 5 out of 5 is because the lady who was making looks like marscpone cheese at the front counter kept licking her fingers while making it ( I counted like 6 times in a 30 min wait time for food) then when they put the lid on the container they took thier finger and wiped off the excess and put it right in thier mouth and put it away. like i said the food was great ,but the whole time I got a whole show and it kinda ruined it for me especially since I drove over a hour to come to this place“
