“Second time here, just moved to the area and ventured out for some thing to have on the road. Pleasantly started with the extra clean environment in the little shop, the donuts are so pretty you don’t even want to eat them you wanna take pictures of them??? anyway the flavors and the consistency of the donuts are the best I’ve had! Perfect sizes as well. Sometimes donut shops give you this huge donut and it’s full of air and it’s just too much. These are a little more dense, but chewy and the perfect size. I love the colorful pieces of art, and they are just divine! Great customer service too! So sweet the staff is. Also they have homemade decadent ice cream that is beyond me! Really unique flavors just like their donuts like lavender and things like that. I can’t say enough about this place. by the way, it’s a small shop so a few people fit in there at the same time but it’s plenty of room if it’s not crowded. “Best boba tea in Gig Harbor! The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed whenever I come in and the food is in my budget but high quality! The cashier is always super friendly and doesn't rush me to order at all either. “We LOVE Pearl Tea. The staff here are beyond sweet, extremely accommodating, and speedy. My wife and I have become regulars and this crew has gone out of their way so many times to make us feel special (most recently on my wife’s birthday). Their shop is cozy, cute, and consistent. As is the case with most bubble tea spots, there are some syrups, high sweetness, and strong flavors, so you’ll need to find what you like. But the boba itself is great (good size, good texture) and I’ve never had any problems with the freshness of the tea. They deserve your business and some love too!“

“Ever since I moved away from home I craved that warm comfort Vietnamese food gave me. This is both affordable and comforting. Very flavorful and filling. The beef pho is my favorite and the caramelized salmon banh mi is to die for. Highly recommend! Will be coming back often!!“
“A bit on the pricey side but these donuts are super delicious and drinks are great too. I don't do boba much but my kids love it. I usually get a green tea/matcha smoothie with 25 percent sweetness. I forget the actual lingo on the menu but the staff was very helpful and patient with us newbies.“
“I have absolutely nothing bad to say about bambu. Ever.Me and my family have been going there for years and years and no drink has ever disappointed. From vietnamese coffee, to a strawberry white rabbit, they have drinks even the pickiest of people will enjoy.(While it sounds simple, I suggest trying a smoothies like the passion in love or very berry and adding rainbow jellies or popping boba. You'll thank me later)The store is adorned with studio ghibli, pokemon, animation, and just generally cute themes! They also offer sweet treats like waffles and fresh mochi cupcakes. (Dont worry they have ice cream too)Their staff is so kind, helpful, and hard working. If you don't know what to order, or you are wondering what goes into the drinks ingredient wise dont hesitate to ask! The staff knows the menu inside and out and will be more than willing to talk to you about it.Also with so many places asking for tips now, its hard to know when to tip well and who deserves it. Let me help you out, the staff are mostly younger people high school age to like mid 20s. (This is because the owner tries to give jobs to students who struggle to find somewhere that will hire them as their first job) these kids are putting themselves through college, or trade school, they have dreams of moving to their own apartments and being able to afford them, etc. These are the people who deserve tips without a doubt. So if you can afford it, just click that 15% button and know that its going to people who will genuinely use it!Honestly, I've seen some boba tea shops that had drinks double the price that just weren't nearly as good. The bambu staff is also fairly heavy handed with the toppings (trust me, that extra .50 cents for your fav add-in is so worth it)Also, one of my favorite things is their rewards program. You actually earn rewards and real discounts! This isn't starbucks folks. You don't have to buy 8000 frickin drinks just to earn a free add-in. You can earn free mochi cupcakes and a free large upgrade on your drink!Bambu is also involved in the community here in Tacoma and is available for catered events and holidays like the much anticipated lunar new year celebration and halloween when they encourage all ages to show up all dressed up and snap a pic with their drinksThe space itself is so well kept and clean. The kitchen area is honestly one of the cleanest I've seen and you better believe that staff is wiping down counters, floors, and doing dishes every chance they get!The ingredients are fresh and tested for freshness every morning before opening. I have never felt there was a risk of any old, moldy, or expired ingredients making their ways into my drinks or food.Overall, bambu is the kind of place that makes you feel like a kid again. There is no leaving the store without a smile on your face and I swear your eyes will light up like a cartoon character when you try the drinks*special note: Although bambu is a chain, the owner of this specific Tacoma store is a ridiculously nice, hardworking, dedicated lady who is often behind the counter or working in the back alongside her staff. I see her put in so much effort to create this happy place for people and Tacoma is so much better as a community with her as a part of it. I have visited both of the Tacoma locations.
