“I first stumbled across mead from Axis at a taphouse in Yelm. Feeling excited to try something new I bought a bottle of their Death Metal Guys mead. But before I broke out that mead a trip to the Olympia area was already in the works so I figured I'd go to their taproom in Lacey. I was quite impressed with the mead here! The first mead I had was the Pink Bike Helmet mead. This had a great blending of pear and apple and of course honey. The balance was well handled and I enjoyed it. But the mead that I liked best, even after I broke open the Death Metal Guys bottle on Thanksgiving was their Hatch Chili Mead. Oh, man! I'm very partial to hatch chilis in the first place but the fact that I came across a pepper mead was just wonderful! It had a nice heated kick to it with the smoothness of the honey that followed. A fantastic mead and one I'd definitely seek out again. Then like I said I broke out the Death Metal Guys over the Thanksgiving holiday. This was a syrupy, blackberry mead with a boozy flair to it. It was good too and perfect for the holiday! But my mind will always drift back to that Hatch Chili Mead. Just writing this review makes me want to plan another trip down to their taproom so I can have another glass!“
“Back at our favorite restaurant. The drinks are great, the customer service is amazing ? and of course the food was very delicious. The experience is great, the music is awesome. Very family friendly. This is our second time.Updating my review: ?The atmosphere was great and friendly especially if your bringing kids or as for a family. The food was delicious and so many options which very hard to choose which is great because everything sounds yummy! But especially the waitress, this is the second time getting her and she really goes out of her way and she’s very friendly and nice. My kids really loved her. This is the customer service that deserves tips and makes you want to come back again. People like her is what makes the place. But we keep forgetting her name.“
“Super happy to see this delightfully spacious & dark lounge still going strong. I remember seeing the grand opening updates with a cool kind of dark, whimsical, somewhat witchy/goth and "cheeky" aesthetic and thought, "alright, I need to scope it out." Just a few years later... ta da! Inside still holds true. Spacious dark speakeasy with a side of "cool weird(?)". I dig the astrological touch in the bar shelf arc wall elements up top.The menu size seems just right for the kitchen size. A pleasant mix of super wholesome salads and small bite nibbles. Next time, I can try some o' dat. They used to be 100% vegan but added egg white options for drinks. For now, I asked George(?) if she/they could whip me up a nice simple-not-too-frilly mocktail. After a few preferences, I tried my 1st ever 0-proof spirit (Ritual) with a nice refreshing taste mixed in from them. I hit a weird buzz feeling near half-way through so I just stopped; after a few moments I could take a few more sips. Welcoming & cool staff.Tucked away right there in downtown Olympia walking distance to many cool spots in town. Whether you're a curious new mocktail drinker like me (I usually do NA beers) or a seasoned buzz slushie, this unique spot is worth a shot (no pun intended). Pull up at the bar seats and eye the glorious neon bikini butt after dark.“
“Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The pinball machines are well maintained and if there are any issues, the staff can usually respond pretty quickly. It seems the cost of each game kind of rotates which I found makes me play some machines I may pass on. They do allow outside food as long as they do not offer it on their menu.“
“For what they have they are good. Their name states beer and coffee in the title, but you only get coffee earlier in day. Also no food. But the atmosphere is pleasant and the guest crowd are quality people: No teenie-boppers, no annoying Karens. Great beer selection.Parking: They have it.“
“Great place to chill with friends and listen to some music. I was there for my friend's band's gig and enjoyed the feel of this place. Dark, dingy, and just the perfect amount of dirty made this bar a winner in my book. If in Olympia, go check out Cryptatropa Bar!“
“Out on a drive to not much on a sunny day and was in the mood for some greasy dive grub. Searched burgers Olympia and this was one that came up and a friend with me who wanted breakfast. Called and placed an order for takeout. Burger was nice and sloppy all over my hands with a decent sauce and homemade greasy real fries. Friend said is Denver omelette breakfast was plenty. Possibly try this place again when I’m the area.“
“Hidden gem. Lots of great choices here, local, regional and national. A few sours that were tasty as well. The 2022 Bourbon County proprietors imperial stout is the finest of any stout I've ever tasted. The vibe in here is somewhere between classic taproom and 70's cafe. Crocheted art and hangers all over the place. This place is mellow, nostalgic and cozy. I could make it my hangout if I lived up here!“
“Cynara happens to be one of my favorite places on Olympia. I didn’t know that Iron Rabbit was the same owner and I wanted to give it a shot as I have passed by it many times before. The food was great! I loved my iron burger. The wedge potatoes weren’t soggy or too big. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got the garlic ones and the only thing I suggest is to crush or mince the garlic instead of the whole garlic clove, but still very good and it comes down to personal preference. Presentation was great! My dinner partner had the Irish beef stew which just needed a tad bit of more salt, but none the less still very good. We will definitely come here again. The atmosphere…meh…doesn’t match the food, but not bad. Also, definitely get the membership to collect points, it’s worth it!“
“If I could give this place more than 5 stars - I would! A locally owned taphouse in the middle of a state park is pure brilliance. Great local beers and ciders on tap, yummy fried food, fun dessert options, and great 80s music bumping. The perfect summer location to enjoy the great outdoors while connecting with others and enjoying some tasty treats. See you next summer!“
“Busy day, over crowded because of St. Patrick's day. We were repeatedly asked for tips for the entertainment, one that we didn't get to see and the music group was loud and very hard to understand the words so it wasn't enjoyable for us. Then we waited too long for the bill. We hadn't been there in a few years and we had never had these issues so I hope it was just the overcrowding and waiting. Good memories so I will go back.“
“It's a great little bar with BBQ and an amazing selection of whiskey. They have music and trivia and some good beers on tap. But by far the best thing about the Pig Bar is the bartender Rob. He provides amazing service and always remembers your drink. Very friendly spot!“
“I always want to like this place more than I do. It has a great atmosphere but never seems to hit the spot for me. That is partially on me. This time, I wanted a cocktail, and they only serve wine and beer. Their menu is not bad, but I never really find something that truly appeals to me. I end up settling for an appetizer or soup, and I can't even remember what I ate.“
“What a fantastic find! I am so rarely impressed when I go out, but Chicory was absolutely incredible! So inspired and inventive! Everything was absolutely delicious! My taste buds and soul were so happy. Had the scallops, carrots, smoked potatoes and biscuits. I cannot wait to return and try more of the amazing menu! Service was wonderful.Very sweet husband and wife owned place. Only regret is that I hadn't tried it sooner. What a gem! Thank you Chicory!“
“My parents go to this restaurant every Saturday for their after gym date. They took me and my husband there when we were visiting a few weeks ago and we got a look into why they go here consistently. The manager /server is the absolute best and so friendly while making sure you are taken care of. The food is fantastic as well. We left full and satisfied with our choices. We even got a nice apple mimosa which was delightful. I am sad to see the owners are selling it and really hope that not so much changes when others buy it.“
“Great little corner of down town. Went for karaoke turned out there was live music instead. Was a great show love the patio area. The drinks were ok I couldn't get a buzz off a pint so next time I won't try anything signature in house. The servers are great.“
“Small joint with a good atmosphere. Locals enjoy it for its variety of drinks and unusual menu. Charcuterie and good nachos are a staple here, but its a tough spot to find parking due to the very small parking lot and it's location. If your going on a weekend go early.“
“Everything was perfect. Attentive wait persons, delicious pasta (gf available, even ravioli) and quiet, comfortable atmosphere. Padded seats on the chairs and a coat closet.Vegetarian options: It would be easy to order vegetarian pasta and salads here. Don't forget dessert.Dietary restrictions: Our gf linguine was delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: It looks easily accessible.“
“Discovered this place a bit late, grateful they relocated to Pacific Ave. We’ve been more than a few times since. Food and atmosphere are both awesome. Service is hit and miss but lots of points to a wonderful owner that seems to always be present and to our server tonight, Miriam, who is by far the best we have seen at Equal Latin or for that matter, anywhere else in a long time. Thank you!Parking: Free parking, nice lot. Always looks like we won’t find parking, but we have never had an issue.“
“I eat downtown quite a bit Nicole's has the best food of any of the restaurants downtown at bar nut potato skins were the best potato skins I've ever had in my life. And the triple cheese grilled cheese sandwich was literally to die for flavor outstanding The quantity second to none without a doubt Nicole's bar and grill has the best food downtown.p“
“DJ/KJJoy is worth coming back for every Wednesday and Thursday. The regular kJ trained her well. With tonight being her first night as KJ, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the best time, especially considering I was going to a bar by myself for the first time in decades.. Karaoke by myself too and I felt awesome.“
“One of Olympia's long-standing establishments, the Eastside Club Tavern, offers a unique blend of historic charm and comfort. While debate continues over which local bar is truly the oldest, there's no denying the Eastside Club's rich history and enduring appeal. The club operates on a beer and cash-only basis, featuring a diverse selection of local brews in a warm, welcoming setting. For "The Simpsons" fans, a few fun surprises behind the bar add an extra touch of whimsy.Despite not offering its 'own' food (popcorn and chips) there are options in and nearby, patrons are welcome to bring their own. The friendly staff and rotating tap list contribute to the tavern's charm. Remember to bring cash and enjoy one of Olympia's fun bars.“
“Used to live off of blvd and go here often with a girlfriend! I’ve been twice since then it’s still the same good vibes, good options, good service etc! They don’t really have food but you can order from Big Tom’s from there! And they have great pool tabs “
“Met up with a long time friend here for lunch and cocktails.I really like the people who work here.Friendly crowd, nice pool tables, good food and drinks. One of my favorite places to have a fun time while I'm out and about.Parking: Can be tricky on busy nights.“
“The food is great priced for what you get. The drinks are strong, if you're into that. I've had so much fun here anytime I've gone. Great and fun place. Karaoke is amazing and some of the regular karaoke goers are so fun too. The culture of a good bar includes its regulars so this is just wonderful“
“As close to a true dive bar with good happy hour deals, stiff and cheap drinks,And a really fun trivia experience on Thursdays at 7pm.If you don't like the young and trendy crowd, it's even okay to come here on Fri and Sat nights.“
“This place is a neighborhood dive bar. You get exactly what you expect in terms of atmosphere. Pull tabs, pool tables, dart boards, solid Cafe food, and of course drinks. They don't seem to have any pretensions to anything else. I had a good time. The food was really good. I don't have any complaints about the drinks. It was a Saturday afternoon, and the crowd was pretty substantial for the time of day. There was one woman taking orders, delivering meals, manning the bar, and bussing tables. There is only so much one poor woman can do.“
“Attended a group meet up here. We definitely had A LOT of people in a smaller area. Despite that I felt they kept a good atmosphere with drinks flowing out of the bar. Karaoke was a lot of fun for what seemed like everyone and the sound was awesome. Good job everyone involved. Also the food didn’t get a rating bc I did not eat there.“
“The people are friendly and the environment is super laid back!!! Very nice place for one on one conversation or to play some pool and game time is always on the screen!!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps for wheelchair access are great in front and back but gravel parking in back isn't to bad still wheelchair friendly!!!“
“For context, I am mid-30s person that put into Google that I was looking for a place for a nice lunch. Google recommended this restaurant and bistro so I went over to check it out. The good news is that the food is good, fresh, and well priced. The bad news is I was not prepared for the fact that the restaurant is on the second floor of a retirement home community center. I spent a fair amount of time wandering the halls and trying to figure out where the place was because it's one big circle. When I did make it how I was supposed to sit down or where was not very clear I'm sure it is much clearer for the people who live there. There were seats that were reserved and no specific area that someone coming in was supposed to go to to get service. I was also the only non-retiree in the entire establishment and had a sense of intruding.Ultimately I figured it out but it was very awkward. I felt like I had found my way into a boutique hospital that I wasn't supposed to be in, and someone was going to tell me to leave at any moment.“
