“Allergy family ordered 5 entrees and 2 orders of spring rolls to share, to go (⭐️s listed for spice, not rating - they’re all excellent!): ***Swimming Rama - chicken ⭐️ ***Honey walnut shrimp - ⭐️⭐️ ***Chicken chow mein - ⭐️⭐️ ***Vietnamese spring rolls 1 tofu, 1 shrimp ***Tofu pad Thai ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ***Ginger Garden w/tofu - dinner⭐️⭐️ The over-the-phone order taker was kind and respectful when I asked if they could accommodate our allergies (dairy & egg), which they were. Estimated cook time was surprisingly short and food was ready within a minute or two of that estimated time. Everything visible was absolutely clean and well maintained; we did not visit the restroom, but it would have shocked me if it wasn’t in excellent condition. We took our food home and had a family-style dinner. The least delicious item was the spring rolls - hear me out, they are *exactly* what you expect when you order Vietnamese spring rolls, everything else was simply over the top outstanding. No overpowering saltiness in the chow mein, a perfect balance of flavor, sweetness, and (albeit mild - cause Grandma doesn’t do spice) spice in the Swimming Rama. The pad Thai was flavorful and had a LOVELY texture that I don’t have words to describe. The Honey walnut shrimp was perfectly crispy without under or over cooking the shrimp (and the presentation in the to go container 😍). All the veggies, including in the Ginger garden were cooked to perfection and not a moment beyond. Even the rice was superb (sticky rice). My preschool aged child was impressed by the chef’s giant homegrown watermelon on display and is asking when we are going to get more spring rolls. You’ve read this far, just call or head over there! We will be back, for sure!“

“I moved to Olympia in 2022 and began looking for good restaurants. After going to 4 Japanese I hit on Kamakura and have been returning there at least 1X/week. Great rolls, rice is perfectly executed, the Drunken Noodles with shrimp are AMAZING(every time). The staff is so kind and accommodating (makes me feel relaxed) The only thing I feel want for is more seaweed in the miso soup. This restaurant reflects everything with a touch of Japanese family tradition. The prices are fairly set and reflect the quality of food. So this is “my go to” Japanese place in Olympia“

“I walked in to check it out. Well, to my disbelief it has a vintage Tokyo feel. On top of that, sushi is simple but beautiful in quality and balance.
If you have been to Japan and if you are in love with a lovely seasoned rice. This is the place for. Aside from the classic rolls, there was one roll that stood out - Survivor Roll. The song that started in the back of my head…. “I’m a survi vor.“

I have gotten the same meal: combo yakisobi beef, chicken&shrimp. Problem is you only get 3 or 4 little shrimps in the entire meal.“

They're selection of sushi rolls gives us plenty reason to go back on many occasions. (Definitely give that Yelm Roll a go, it's a BANGER!)
They're non-sushi menu items also slap! My wife did they're Orange Chicken and their crispy chicken with sweet orange sauce were the perfect combination of sweet and savory.
Don't sleep on the gyoza either, those were incredible!“

“We had an office luncheon here. The staff was friendly and always upbeat. The food was not only fabulous but large portions. Even one’s food looked, smelled and tasted amazing. One of the best Bun Bo Xoa (Vietnamese noodle salads) that I have had in Washington State. Very clean establishment and restrooms. Their Pho broth had a deep complex flavor.

“As usual, the food is excellent. I used to run a pizza restaurant back in the 80's and I am appalled at what most places think is a pizza. When a pizza was ordered with pepperoni back then it was covered, edge to edge, no visible cheese underneath until it was cooked, now I've had large pizzas that have had 25 pieces... 3 fingers width between each piece, I ordered extra one time and it came with 30. That was from the place with 3 letters in the second word of their name. Papa Murphy's still use an acceptable amount of product and when you order extra you get extra. You can't beat how hot it is coming right out of your oven, the staff is very helpful and friendly. My only complaint is I wish they would use a sturdier platter underneath the family size, 2 hands is not enough to keep it from flopping around, I'm disabled and walk with a cane, and at least ever single person over the years that has helped me has offered to take it out to the car for me, without being asked.“

“I did a late night drop off of a car at a co-worker's house and had an hour left to get home. With a trailer, fast food was not am option, so I whipped into the parking lot near this truck about 10 minutes before 9. They were starting cleaning, so I went to turn around and they ushered me up enthusiastically. I grabbed a Carnitas Burrito Supreme and gobbled it up in the truck. Great size for the money, meat portion was awesome. The carnitas was flavorful; sweet with some good spice (weak taste budded white guy here, so take that for what it's worth). I got a little ahead of myself wharfing this thing down and destroyed a brand new Carhart shirt spilling the juices all down the front. Zero complaints and worth the price with the shirt factored in.“

“Convenient because they have a drive thru, but they are slow (20 - 30 minutes sometimes!). Flavorful but occasionally I don't get the right order, still good food though. Presentation of the food is not gorgeous, but its fresh, you gotta have faith. Usually pretty freshly cooked. I wouldn't get food online from here.

Always purchase in person or drive thru, because the food is at its best quality fresh. Their prices are somewhat affordable. Aliberto's is not amazing but it hits the spot when I'm low on money and the location is convenient. It's very average.

Also: The drive thru could use a redesign but I don't think they have control over that bit. The turns are tight and their speaker system is very old. Exiting can be a bit sketchy as well.

Fun Fact By the way: Avocados oxidize over time (like apples), when they've been exposed to the air, so the guacamole can look dark, but it's not gone bad. Usually oxidation can be delayed with lemon or lime juice, but if the storage temperature is cold, then they oxidize anyway.“
