“Lots of fun games and extremely helpful staff. The toys and prizes cycle fairly frequently which is nice, and the duck claw machine is always a hit for my family. If you have any noise sensitivity I recommend headphones as this place tends to be on the louder side of arcades!
Definitely recommend going if you have the time~“

“Very cool bar near Greenwood with delicious drinks. The bartenders are absolutely amazing and keep the vibes up in the already neat atmosphere. They went above and beyond to make each drink special. Comfy seats, clean bathroom, and various snack options. It is a small venue so better for groups of 4 or less.“

“A nice little neighborhood bar that's tucked away just off the main drag. One of the few reasonably priced options left open in the area. You'll see a lot of long time locals there which is obviously a good thing.
Would def recommend if you're in the area and looking for a drink.“
“Kind and fun staff. Quiet, indoor/ outdoor area with toys for shy or small dogs. Wide range of local adult beverages. Treat-dispenser gumball machines. Free cabanas for humans to sit, eat snacks and enjoy our bevvies. All-around, always a good time!“

“Food is a side note, Covid-19 protocol and all. All I ever get are almonds, but they are served in a glass with a smile.Great selection of beer. Decent off premise sale prices. Cool in the heat, warm in winter. Too bad it is so far from my neighborhood.“

“Delicious, curteous, fast, and they offer sake flights. Very creative specialities, and the rolls are generously sized. They also clearly label where they use real crab and where they use imitation crab, which is a level of forthrightness I appreciate in a good sushi place.
Vegetarian options: Great vegan sushi rolls too.“
“Super friendly atmosphere. Awesome bartenders (Anthony), and of course, spectacular drinks. I’ve walked in alone several times, and walked out making new friends. A perfect spot that Edmonds needed!“

“If you’re in the Ballard neighborhood and looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some great cocktails, Essex is a solid choice. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, making it the perfect place to unwind or start your evening off right.
The staff here is super friendly, and they’re not just about serving drinks—they’re genuinely passionate about creating a great experience. I usually like to ask for a bartender’s choice when I’m in a new spot, and Essex didn’t disappoint. Every cocktail I tried had a little creative twist, which is always a treat.
While it’s a great bar to grab a drink at, it’s also a bit of a placeholder for diners waiting on their table for the restaurant next door, so you might get a mix of folks coming and going. It doesn’t take away from the vibe, though—it’s part of the charm.
I’d definitely recommend Essex if you’re in the area. Whether you’re just grabbing a drink or hanging out with friends, it’s a great spot that I’ll definitely be returning to.“
“Awesome local spot for a drink - with a small but great cocktail selection. Very friendly service, great atmosphere, kid friendly especially on the 1st floor but then the upstairs is more of an adult space. Lots of covered heated outdoor seating as well. And the two food trucks are great!“

“We went to Amaro Bistro during Seattle Restaurant Week. My burrata antipasto was very tasty. The braised pork shank was tender and excellent. The panna cotta dessert was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food and the Cuvee B Red Blend was also great!“

“I was at The Lodge for an afternoon reception and wedding, and Father Mulligan's has an extremely convenient happy hour from 2-5PM on Friday and Saturday. Suffice it to say, we stopped by to down a drink or two before the festivities.
The bartenders were very friendly and the cocktail of the day was a fruity vodka/cranberry/grapefruit cocktail topped with a fruity sour. It was very drinkable and our orders came out quickly.
Their wine list also has some unique gems on it, definitely worth a look.
Overall, can't complain about the service and the cocktails were well received for a reasonable price considering the exclusive location.“
“The best prices on an Imperial (20 oz) pint, especially during weekday happy hours and all day Sundays!“

“Pretty good food, you shouldn't be disappointed, with the best atmosphere of any bar I've been too, 6 stars for that atmosphere. The best part, coming from a structural engineer, is how wonky their floors and ceiling are - the entire place has settled massively and idk how it's still allowed, must be 136% grandfathered in. The only minus star is because they only ever have one bartender on at a time, so if it happens to be busy (but it's such a small, very local dive bar, that rarely comes up), the service can be a little slow.“

“Some of the best times with friends I’ve had at Tabs playing corn hole in the backyard. Or maybe singing karaoke, and laughing. Or maybe just grabbing a bite from their great menu, and catching up with friends. It’s a great place for an after work unwind, or watching your favorite sports team. (Go Hawks!) 💥“

“Headed down during a blue grass jam session, place was packed. It was freezing cold outside so I had a Hot Toddy and it was absolutely perfect. Great vibe, great people. Lots of families. I did not eat anything, but next time I will check out their food. I heard they have a farm to table restaurant moving in which would be awesome! If I had my choice, I would have Carolina Smoke BBQ come in and make it the blues capital of the eastside, but let's see what they come up with. HIGHLY recommended.“

“Nestled in the historic depths of the iconic St. Edward’s Lodge, The Tonsorium Bar is much more than just a watering hole—it's a captivating journey through time paired with world-class food and drink. Let’s start with the bites because, oh, what bites they are! The burger isn’t just the best I’ve had in years—it’s a meaty love letter to culinary excellence. The chicken burger? Absolute perfection—it left all other chicken burgers in its dust. And then, the Brussels sprouts—normally not on my radar—have completely won me over. They’re smoky, crispy, and downright addictive, proving this kitchen knows how to make even the humblest of vegetables a star.
But the evening doesn’t end there. Lynsey, the Tonsorium’s mixologist extraordinaire, is the perfect embodiment of this place’s charm. Her cocktails are masterpieces in a glass—bold, inventive, and impossibly smooth. Watching her work is pure theater, a whirlwind of energy as dazzling and fleeting as a bug on a windshield (her endearing chaos just adds to the entertainment!). She brings a vibrant, lively spark to the space that complements its historic backdrop beautifully.
The Tonsorium, housed in what was once the seminary’s barbershop, is a seamless blend of past and present. As part of the meticulously restored St. Edward’s Lodge—a landmark that has evolved from seminary to state park to its current role as a Pacific Northwest-inspired lodge—its Romanesque Revival architecture and Art Deco details create an ambiance that is refined yet cozy. The preservation efforts by Daniels Real Estate are nothing short of incredible, and the adaptive reuse of spaces, like transforming dorms into guest rooms and barbershops into bars, speaks volumes about their vision.
Whether you’re here for the jaw-dropping food, the innovative cocktails, or the chance to soak in a piece of history with a side of Lynsey’s unforgettable charm, The Tonsorium is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just a bar; it’s an experience that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even left!“
“Came here last night, first time, and absolutely had the best time yet going out in Seattle. I’ve been around this entire country and the best memories I’ve wished to repeat since moving to Seattle were lacking… til I found this neighborhood and Baranof.
So glad to know good times, good halcyon days and good people don’t have to be a thing of the past just because I need to be in Seattle. Cheers. I’ll be back.“
