I’ve eaten here and ordered takeout a handful of times recently, and every single time there is a 'mistake' that feels incredibly intentional. ​They seem to have a major habit of shortchanging to-go orders. I ordered the Hawaiian burger to go, got home, and it was just a dry patty and a bun—absolutely zero toppings or pineapple. Another time, I caught them trying to hand me a beef nacho order that was literally just chips and meat with none of the advertised toppings. Then, just yesterday, I ordered the $24 Birria taco plate to go. When you eat it in the restaurant, it comes with 3 tacos. In my to-go box? Only 2. When I called them out on it, the guy just shrugged, lied, and said they never do 3 tacos, then walked away to talk to another customer. ​On top of the missing food, their pricing is completely dishonest. They charge way more than the menu states (they snuck an extra $6 onto my bill for a margarita), and on a recent group dinner, they actually tried to run my card for the entire table's bill without even asking me first. ​Great kitchen, but the service is completely untrustworthy. If you order to-go, open every single container before you walk out the door.“

“We had dinner at Thirsty Hop in Kirkland and really enjoyed everything we ordered! We tried several different dishes, and they were all delicious.

The grilled boiled squid was especially memorable — so flavorful and perfectly cooked! I honestly wish I had taken pictures because there were so many good dishes on the table.

Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and we had such a nice time. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!“

“My wife and I have come here for the drinks and occasionally truffle pommes frites or some oysters, but this time we tried some of the other menu items for dinner. My wife got the Halibut (Chapter 6) and I got the Mushroom Pasta dish. (Chapter 5)

I asked Casey if he recommended the mushroom dish and he said it was one of his favorites. I'm not a foodie, so I don't get overly excited over food but let me tell you... It was so good that it prompted me to write a review about it. I actually felt an endorphin rush from eating it! My wife loved the halibut, (which I also tried) and I would say getting her to eat fish is usually a challenge unless her fisherman father prepares it!

I would recommend a Manhattan or Old Fashioned, which Casey also pointed me towards some new Rye to try. Fantastic as always!

I had placed an order for oysters but apparently they were forgotten, but I was so enamored with the mushroom dish that I didn't even care. Casey offered them to me on the house as he felt bad, which was a very nice gesture. I wasn't upset at all!

Now we would like to try all the other dishes, because if both meals were that good, how can they miss with anything else?

“This place is a must-try if you’re in King County. It’s family-owned, and you can tell — the food comes out with genuine care and quality that a lot of bigger chains just can’t match.

The portions are massive. We ordered Mongolian beef, General Tso’s chicken, kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice, and hot and sour soup — and every single dish came out piled high. The prices absolutely do not match how much food you get. Come hungry, and honestly, come prepared with containers because you’re taking food home no matter what.

Flavor-wise, everything was on point — the Mongolian beef and General Tso’s chicken were both perfectly balanced between savory and sweet, the kung pao chicken had great heat and crunch from the peanuts, and the fried rice was packed with flavor. The hot and sour soup deserves a special mention too — we devoured it before we even thought to snap a photo, that’s how good it was.

If you want authentic, generous, well-priced Chinese food from a family that clearly cares about what they’re putting out, this is the spot.“
