Apparently they’ve been open for 97 years!
Check it out, go for a pint and a game, and support a treasure. Gentrification has closed so many good dive bars. It’s nice to see one hanging on. We will be back!!

“Cole's Taven- How should I put this....it's LEGENDARY! Britana was Amazing, the service was fast, the sandwich was fresh, meaty and delicious- a great place to catch a game and have lunch, breakfast or dinner. I gat a great IPA, a lesson in Pull Tabs and had a terrific time Beating Cole at billiards! Ha- if you're on your way to the ferry, make sure to stop at Cole's! You won't be sorry! Did I mention the prices were really really reasonable! I'd give Cole's six stars!!!!“

“This place was amazing! The staff were the nicest you can imagine - we felt incredibly well cared for and that they were proud of every dish put in front of us. I would return here again just for the warmth and care from the hardworking owners.

We had the Woodlawn platter and it did not disappoint - the variety and quality of the fish was top notch and the mega rolls were yummy and definitely mega size. We had a party of four and this was a good portion for us, I could see you stretching it to 5 no problem especially if you got some other sushi by the piece.

They went the extra mile for her and had a great table saved and even got her a small beautiful bouquet of flowers after I had to delay our time due to some unforeseen events. “Check your bags and receipts BEFORE you leave! Shady practices. ​I want to love this place because the food is actually great, but their front-of-house staff and takeout service are a total mess. I’ve eaten here and ordered takeout a handful of times recently, and every single time there is a 'mistake' that feels incredibly intentional. ​They seem to have a major habit of shortchanging to-go orders. I ordered the Hawaiian burger to go, got home, and it was just a dry patty and a bun—absolutely zero toppings or pineapple. Another time, I caught them trying to hand me a beef nacho order that was literally just chips and meat with none of the advertised toppings. Then, just yesterday, I ordered the $24 Birria taco plate to go. When you eat it in the restaurant, it comes with 3 tacos. In my to-go box? Only 2. When I called them out on it, the guy just shrugged, lied, and said they never do 3 tacos, then walked away to talk to another customer. ​On top of the missing food, their pricing is completely dishonest. They charge way more than the menu states (they snuck an extra $6 onto my bill for a margarita), and on a recent group dinner, they actually tried to run my card for the entire table's bill without even asking me first. ​Great kitchen, but the service is completely untrustworthy. If you order to-go, open every single container before you walk out the door.“

“I was at The Lodge for an afternoon reception and wedding, and Father Mulligan's has an extremely convenient happy hour from 2-5PM on Friday and Saturday. Suffice it to say, we stopped by to down a drink or two before the festivities.

The bartenders were very friendly and the cocktail of the day was a fruity vodka/cranberry/grapefruit cocktail topped with a fruity sour. It was very drinkable and our orders came out quickly.

Their wine list also has some unique gems on it, definitely worth a look.

“Headed down during a blue grass jam session, place was packed. It was freezing cold outside so I had a Hot Toddy and it was absolutely perfect. Great vibe, great people. Lots of families. I did not eat anything, but next time I will check out their food. I heard they have a farm to table restaurant moving in which would be awesome! If I had my choice, I would have Carolina Smoke BBQ come in and make it the blues capital of the eastside, but let's see what they come up with. HIGHLY recommended.“
