“I was at The Lodge for an afternoon reception and wedding, and Father Mulligan's has an extremely convenient happy hour from 2-5PM on Friday and Saturday. Suffice it to say, we stopped by to down a drink or two before the festivities.

The bartenders were very friendly and the cocktail of the day was a fruity vodka/cranberry/grapefruit cocktail topped with a fruity sour. It was very drinkable and our orders came out quickly.

Their wine list also has some unique gems on it, definitely worth a look.

Overall, can't complain about the service and the cocktails were well received for a reasonable price considering the exclusive location.“

“Headed down during a blue grass jam session, place was packed. It was freezing cold outside so I had a Hot Toddy and it was absolutely perfect. Great vibe, great people. Lots of families. I did not eat anything, but next time I will check out their food. I heard they have a farm to table restaurant moving in which would be awesome! If I had my choice, I would have Carolina Smoke BBQ come in and make it the blues capital of the eastside, but let's see what they come up with. HIGHLY recommended.“

“A tiny Asian spot off the Burke‑Gilman that I always assumed was a coffee shop. We walked in and got pleasantly blindsided. The Brussels sprouts were the star! Crispy, saucy, with bacon! Our one dish came out huge, and everything on the nearby tables looked just as tempting. They’re still setting up their new bar area, so no taps yet, but the place already feels like a low‑key gem hiding in plain sight. The waitress was a sweet delight too! “I really enjoy the veggie corndogs, which are a pretty rare option to find at bars. They give you three, so it's a hearty dish. Service has been good each time as well. Caveat that the seating is a bit awkward, when they get busy and only two people are taking up one of the giant tables. The owner is nice, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. This bar, much unlike the rest of its Olive Way counterparts, is a great place to relax and wind down after a long day. “The agave drink from Rachel’s Ginger Beer was an absolute lifesaver and the highlight of my visit! It was incredibly refreshing and perfectly balanced. I added a splash of tequila, which turned it into the most delicious, vibrant cocktail.
If you order the Ma’ono chicken, do yourself a favor and grab a drink from Rachel’s Ginger Beer to wash it down. It was genuinely the best part of the meal. Whether with or without the tequila twist, their agave drink is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back just for this! Highly recommend.“

Apparently they’ve been open for 97 years!

“Stopped in with a friend to play some pinball on Wednesday 8/23/23. Pinball map was pretty accurate regarding pins on location, and the games we played were in good condition, spaced out well, and most had cupholders or tables close by. There were the requisite 40"-50" TVs playing sports set up around the bar, but they were not the center of attention - this isn't a sports bar. There were 4-5 pool tables, and all were busy by the time we left for the Ice Box around 9 PM. Stiff well drinks, a decent selection of beer, etc., and decent prices for the area. I like the square wooden-framed ~25'x25' area around the bar, away from the pinball and pool - it was kind of cozy and they had a corner with a mic set up for...music or karaoke or stand-up, or something else I guess. New owners revamped this place in late 2021 or early 2022, and they kept the dive bar atmosphere, but really cleaned the place up. No yucky smells, and I didn't feel like I had to wash my hands after I left. I know that's not a high bar, but I what I mean was that it was a pleasant and unpretentious place to hang out. Didn't try any food - maybe next time. Sorry, no pictures this time!“

“It’s a fixture of the neighborhood. You can go for a burger and beers to get the standard pub experience, but they also have much more than that. Their rotating menu is truly fantastic, from high end appetizers to fresh pasta to comfort food. It’s much higher quality food than I’d usually expect from a corner pub. The staff is incredibly cordial and always happy to explain, even though they barely seem to get a moment to breathe. It’s always busy, yet they stay friendly, smiling, and welcoming.

I absolutely loved their craft cocktails. My favorite from my first visit was the “Tamarind Ice.” Such a fun, tangy drink. The vegetarian banh mi sandwich was amazing too. The server was very friendly and made the experience even better.
Highly recommend and I will definitely be visiting again!
