“Headed down during a blue grass jam session, place was packed. It was freezing cold outside so I had a Hot Toddy and it was absolutely perfect. Great vibe, great people. Lots of families. I did not eat anything, but next time I will check out their food. I heard they have a farm to table restaurant moving in which would be awesome! If I had my choice, I would have Carolina Smoke BBQ come in and make it the blues capital of the eastside, but let's see what they come up with. HIGHLY recommended.“

“Some Random Bar is a great neighborhood spot in Belltown, right around the corner of 1st Avenue and Vine Street. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, making it a good place to stop for drinks and food without feeling overly formal. The menu goes beyond basic bar food, with a good variety of dishes and cocktails.

The location is especially convenient if you’re walking around Belltown, and there are plenty of other restaurants and businesses nearby. It has the kind of neighborhood atmosphere that fits this part of Seattle well. A nice option for a relaxed evening with friends or a casual meal.“

“I happened to stumble upon this place exploring Seattle. I had my first Seattle dog, and a few of their IPAs. The food and drinks were great. All of the staff were incredibly pleasant and kind, with a shoutout to Clea. I will absolutely be stopping here again when I make it back out to Seattle.“

“My wife and I have come here for the drinks and occasionally truffle pommes frites or some oysters, but this time we tried some of the other menu items for dinner. My wife got the Halibut (Chapter 6) and I got the Mushroom Pasta dish. (Chapter 5)

I asked Casey if he recommended the mushroom dish and he said it was one of his favorites. I'm not a foodie, so I don't get overly excited over food but let me tell you... It was so good that it prompted me to write a review about it. I actually felt an endorphin rush from eating it! My wife loved the halibut, (which I also tried) and I would say getting her to eat fish is usually a challenge unless her fisherman father prepares it!

I would recommend a Manhattan or Old Fashioned, which Casey also pointed me towards some new Rye to try. Fantastic as always!

I had placed an order for oysters but apparently they were forgotten, but I was so enamored with the mushroom dish that I didn't even care. Casey offered them to me on the house as he felt bad, which was a very nice gesture. I wasn't upset at all!

Now we would like to try all the other dishes, because if both meals were that good, how can they miss with anything else?

“I poked my head into Barrel and Bacon a few weeks ago to see if they’d be interested in donating a gift certificate to Magnolia’s Vino in the Village Reuse Raffle and the place was PACKED. I was left wondering want all the fuss was about? I saw “Cinnamon French Toast Crack Fries” and “Ube chicken & waffle” and knew I HAD to come back. The brunch is quite popular and it’s recommended you make a reservation. I concur. If you’re of drinking age, there was space at the bar and thats a good bet for brunch! The waiting lobby is chic and comfortable. When you catch a glimpse inside the restaurant the ambiance is nice. The food presentation is also exquisite. Everything seems to be piled high and looks delicious. My son and I were seated on the patio. Charming in its own right! While we waited for our food I got a bit of food whiplash as orders were delivered because - again - the presentation is notable. Our waitress was quite kind and helped me decide between 4 delectable dishes. The Ube French Toast won out and I was not disappointed! We waited about as long as you’d expect for our food…no complaints there. My son got the loaded tots. Oh my. Packed w flavor. The French toast was also quite good! Loved the ube cream cheese filling. Not too sweet for this sweet tooth! Great paired with coffee. The loaded tots offered a nice savory bacony balance! I noticed quite a few incredible looking cocktails. This trip I decided not to imbibe, but I will be returning and will try one of those! I can see myself visiting Barrel and Bacon at least four more times to try the other delectable menu items - and cocktails I wasn’t able to shovel into my face this time!

The Old Fashioned was phenomenal, but the true standout was the Tequila Pho cocktail. I ordered the non alcoholic Celery Shrub, which was delicious, with nice complex flavors. “For over 20 years we have enjoyed every meal on the menu. They are the only restaurant that I know that make their own pastas, sauces, bread, and desserts. What a difference that makes. Everything is fresh tasting and satisfying. The meatballs are so light and tasty, eat them slowly to enjoy every bite. Not only are their pastas and pizzas delicious so are their appetizers. I love how they roast their eggplant and they serve it in an incredibly rich tomato sauce with Gorgonzola on the side. “The owner is incredibly personable and is very involved with his restaurant. His staff is very attentive and have excellent customer service skills. I chose a faster made food, the Chicken Kabob (recommended by the owner) and there was nothing that made it feel rushed or made cheap even though the price was amazing for the amount of food that came about 10 mins after ordering. BEST DARN KABOB I'VE EVER HAD IN SEATTLE. I'm sad I didn't try this place out when I lived in the neighborhood 10 yrs ago. I'd be a lot fatter by now...“
