“A nice little spot for some delicious sushi in downtown Kirkland. Walked in on Friday evening and were seated really quickly. The staff was welcoming and friendly in a down to Earth way. Our table was clean and comfortable. Great variety on the menu; I was able to order non-sushi items for myself and daughter while my friends found some great looking sushi plates. My chicken Katsu was crispy and cooked perfectly, and included a fresh salad and a cup of miso soup, which was very tasty. We tried the potato-ball/squid dish (I can't recall the name) and it was VERY good!!! Great on a cold evening to warm you up. Prices seemed fair and our waitress was very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a stop! :-)“

“Ordered Salmon box and it was so cute how it was displayed and for the price it was pretty good. It came with a bowl of miso soup and salad. We asked if we ordered online for pick-up if the soup/salad sides will come with it, and they confirmed they do.Udon noodles were nice chewy texture, the broth was very tasty and not bland.Mixed poke bowl was confirmed yummy by family member :)Fish tasted fresh and not fishy. We have a family member very picky on fish. She is not a fan of raw fish except for spicy tuna rolls. But tasting some of the mixed poke, she confirmed no fishy taste or smell, she was able to enjoy the food.Very cute small restaurant, went after 5pm on a Friday so it was not busy. But the road to get there was busy due to costco shoppersFeb 9, 2024 Friday 5pm“

“The server was very helpful with recommendations as well as asking if I had any allergies or dietary restrictions. The restaurant is very clean, there is padding on the walls to help keep the noise level down when crowded. I highly recommend trying this place out.
Vegetarian options: See menu for veggie options
Parking: There is street parking but limited, however there is free parking across the street in the garage. Then there is parking in the shopping area as well.
Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but the door itself is heavy and will need help opening it.“

“I was pleasantly surprised - extremely homey, tastes like home-cooked Japanese food! What an unassuming little spot!
My partner and I had the Oyakodonburi, Katsu Curry, salmon cucumber avocado roll, and a side of tempura.
The portions are big! The Oyakodonburi was the star of the show - usually I don't like oyakodon because it's very easy to do wrong; too slimy and too saucy, but theirs was just perfect!!
This is gonna be a top lunch spot for me for sure!“

“Sushi Kashiba will provide you a memorable meal with the freshest fish. The chef are amazing of selecting and preparing amazing nigri sushi with wonderful hot dishes for your enjoyment. The omakasa is a must while a nice glass of sake or wine will pair well with your meal. Highly recommend and will be going back“

“Quite simply one of the best meals I have ever had, sushi or non. The food was utterly incredible, beautifully crafted with complex and intricate layers of flavors. From the opening bowl of clam and geoduck soup, through the salmon roe, incredible barracuda, mackerel, and salmon, to the final coronet of tuna, it was a phenomenal experience.
We sat at the counter, and the Itamae could not have been more welcoming. He explained every dish in detail, including how he crafted the various flavors. He let us taste sake, explaining how it complemented the dish. He discussed how he changes the menu with the seasons, getting fish from where it is best for that time of year.
From start to finish, this was just amazing. We'll be back in winter for my birthday. I can't wait to taste the changes“

“Sushi By Scratch in Seattle is quite an experience with each and every bite more amazing than the next. It's like a Speakeasy for sushi. Reservations are hard to get, and you walk up to unmarked doors and ring the bell. If you like sushi, you will never be happy with "belt sushi" ever again. From all the fish, wagyu, caviar and mystery ice cream to the teas, Japanese whiskies and hand-crafted cocktails. All of it pure art, I highly recommend!“

“Super strong and authentic sushi offering — high end omakase.
Chef is legit… has good experiences skills with temperature, texture, and flavour balance. No fusion BS at all….
Shari was very good as well as his seasonal selection of fish. Reasonable price too (even compared to Japan/Asia). Only downside is a larger-than-usual sushi counter to which we were met with a rather rowdy crowd disturbing the experience. To be expected outside of Japan though…. But overall very solid meal 8.5/10.“

“When we arrived, we were told there would be a twenty-minute wait, and it was definitely worth it. The restaurant was clean, the service was efficient and friendly, and the food was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and presented with a unique touch.
We ordered the pork gyozas, Philly roll, Spider roll, and California roll.
I recommend calling ahead for a table if you’re planning to visit on a busy weekend evening.“

“Almost hesitant to review this place as I want to keep it a secret, but there’s no doubt that this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the PNW. Had the chance to try their take out omakase and chirashi sets - both were amazing!! Can’t wait for my next chance to dine-in!“

“Love the concept of pick your own sushi pieces. The amount of options are reasonable and delicious! Price is reasonable for the amount you can fit into a box.
Depending on when you go there may be a line but it moves fairly quickly. Parking can be very tricky in this area.“

“According to the chef, the menu is updated on a monthly basis. I can understand why as they incorporate quite a few seasonal ingredients ranging from seasonal veggies (corn, wintermelon) to fish ( fried fish, clams) .
The seafood I had were black throat sea perch, tuna from Spain, uni, Toro, mackerel,Hokkaido scallops , oyster bites, abalone, monkfish liver, alaska king crabs bite. A lot of the dishes were steam and or marinated with sake.
The pacing here is quite fast despite one person making the sushi and another chef prepping the plates. The whole experience took a little more than a hour despite waiting 15 minutes for late people.
They have a restroom that is up a small ramp. The building also has a restroom that was much dirtier.
The homemade ginger is less spicy than usual.
Other omakases I been to had more nigiri and things like miso soup and salmon .
Reservations were hard to get, it took us two months to get one. Might have higher chances choosing a weekday than weekend.“

“Very fresh sushi. And it's all you can eat. So literally order as much as your stomach can hold. Came with a friend and we were able to enjoy 4-6 plates plus miso soup, edamame, and salad. Obviously we were hungry, and for a flat rate, it was totally worth it. Employees are friendly and service was quick; simply order from their tablet. Seattle sushi is to die for, and this place is no different. Keep in mind you'll probably have to pay for parking unless you're on foot.“

SHOUT OUT to Jason who made the most delicious sushi on earth! The taste, freshness, texture of the sushi and sashimi are top-notch. My favroite is the toro and the melting sensation once placed in my mouth feels amazing! The spider rolls, nacho sushis, sashimi and sushi sets are all dazzling and tasted incredible! I can’t say enough good things about this place! It is hard to pick my favorite!

“This is by far the best sushi I've ever had in my life. Definitely the best sushi restaurant in all of WA state. A hole-in-the-wall gem! If you find this place, you are blessed by the sushi gods. Every time my husband and I go to a different sushi restaurant, we always think - we should have just gone to Rolls and Rolls. The Salmon Platter is so buttery and the fish melts in your mouth, the texture is just divine. The miso soup is so refreshing, and their specialty rolls all have perfect proportions and are well made.
The service is some of the best I've ever experienced at any restaurant - it's a family owned place and the son is the waiter. He is very courteous and careful about when he comes over to ask how things are going, and always seems to come at the perfect times when we need something.
The atmosphere is great, only a few tables, and classical music playing in the background. You can see the parents making the sushi right there and they will greet you and say goodbye as well when you leave.
If there is one sushi restaurant I could recommend, it would be this one. It's a must-try.
Parking: Parking is very easy, there is a parking garage right next to this place with plenty of open spots always.“

“For a place closes shortly after lunch time, it's lucky for me to drop by for activity in downtown and finally got a bite of the poke / don. I tried #1 on the menu as it is a mixture of every fish, from the mackerel (tastes a bit like sea eel at first) to two-side-seared albacore, mixed with two types of fish roe (the big red + black caviar), aside from other kinds of fish you'd expect from poke, brings varieties and levels of flavors. If anything, they may get rid of the shrimp (one piece) to drop the price a little bit, or to work on the shrimp while maintaining the price. Also not many seats available which is worth noting.“

“Amazing Grab and Go; most people do not know about their Mongolian beef and general Tao’s chicken. Those are my fav beyond the teriyaki and katsu. They also have a free soup during lunch, way better than your average egg drop soup with actual veggies. Today, I am going in with the teriyaki and katsu chicken for my quick lunch’s, do upgrade to fried rice. OMG on the fried rice during lunch!! Hit the spot, I’m glad I skip Kona. I go by meetsinseattle on Tok“
