Lynnwood is not Bellevue, and Alderwood Mall is not Bellevue Square. The resemblance is there, but nobody is confused, least of all the mall. Still, Alderwood holds three spots dear to me. There is J. Sweets, where I can get my favorite wagashi imported straight from Japan, sweets so restrained they seem almost to apologize for being sweets. Always my go-to restaurant at Alderwood Mall. I've never had a bad experience in my 100+ visits. There's something on the menu for everyone and the service is always good. Very accommodating with substitutions.
Pleasantly surprised. Did not know this was here. We came in not knowing what to expect in terms of everything.
Jack was our attendant. Assertive, informed, precise. Anticipated our needs and provided us with excellent service. The turkey and avocado club was fresh, crisp and delicious. The fries were decent. The corn chowder with bacon? Exquisite.
