“I come here a lot because they are open late and serve espresso. I find most of the options on the menu too expensive so I generally avoid them. The main area that needs improvement is the service. Most of the servers are not particularly friendly, and one of them has been plain rude to me. One and only one of them currently working here is nice to me, though there have been good ones in the past who no longer work here. This is after coming here for over a year. And yes, coffee tastes different depending on how nice the person is who makes it for you.“
“Try to find a place to sit down and work. This place is amazing - quiet, well-maintained, and wifi is decent. It’s quieter than Starbucks and their table is more appropriate for working as well. “I definitely recommend this place. I found out about it through social media and I really want to try their flattened croissants. I got there at 9 AM on a Sunday and they were already wiped out. I instead grabbed a creme brûlée croissant, a twice baked pistachio croissant and the everything bagel cream cheese croissant. It was all incredible. The staff are always chipper and friendly, the food is amazing, and everything is very affordable. My absolute favorite is the biscuit breakfast sandwich. After telling myself I'm never going to another coffee stand (and sticking with Starbucks because they're consistent) I went out of my way to try Filbert Rd Espresso and I don't regret it! I'm a barista myself and when I tell you these girls make great coffee, it's great coffee! I tried it yesterday in the afternoon, fantastic! And I tried it again this morning and my drink is consistent and delicious! I give it 4 stars for the only reason being; my drink price was cheaper yesterday than it was today (I ordered the same way I did yesterday) but honestly as a barista I can tell that's a mis communication between staff and company. “We love this spot for any meal, although for most folks the food menu is probably more satisfying for lunch than for dinner. Our favorite, however, is brunch! We definitely think it's a slept-on brunch spot, probably because people don't really think of a wine bar as a place to go for breakfast food. They have some delicious offerings, though, with a more thoughtful "foodie" lean to the menu — we prefer theirs to any other brunch places in the neighborhood. The shakshouka, eggs benedict, hash, and avocado toast have all been great. Friendly service, cozy vibes, and of course a great place to pick up a bottle of wine to take home after your meal.“

Our food got to our table in such a timely manner (which was unexpected for a Sunday morning/afternoon!) and we kept ourselves busy snacking on the fresh, warm bread that they courteously serve as well as the coffee cakes which they seem to have on rotation. Still, with that said, the ppl there were friendly and delightful to talk to.Talked to the owner (Marina) about the coffee cups there. I mentioned about the fact that SOOO many of the small business owners here have signing pushing small business, while they in turn are bring cheap, low quality stuff from China, but with high price tags. Not Marina. She had cups that were either American or Canadian made. Said she had a few at home, that still looked new after 2-3 years of heavy use. Said dishwasher cleaned.The mugs were a bit expensive, but not out of line for high quality items esp if locally made.Pricey place. Will not be going on a daily/weekly basis, but we will likely go there about 1-2/month. I really liked the place and ppl. Just need to find a way to add spice ( Chinese hot mustard? “I love Caffe Ladro, especially this location! I first came in about a year ago while trying to find a high-quality, unsweetened matcha latte (more rare than you'd think!) and loved it so much that I now regularly stop in at least a couple times a week. Not only is their matcha probably the best I've had in the area, but the baristas are the absolute sweetest and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and get you what you like. The conversations with them are seriously the highlight of my mornings! The atmosphere is also really great for studying and there's usually plenty of space and outlets to set up for a couple hours. The only downside is that the location is a bit tricky to get into and parking can be limited at times, but there's definitely workarounds once you get familiar with the area. Overall, an amazing cafe with great drinks and fantastic people!“

The staff is wonderful friendly to the point of just having random conversation about things. The prices were great for the portion you get. We just stopped here on the way to the ferry but we'll be back it's well worth the drive.“
