Limited, but quality, menu of light dishes. Not a lunch stop, but a great wine stop. Nestled in a very small, quaint town on the mouth of the Hoid Canal. Waterfront 2 blocks away.”

“Best cider I have ever had. The owners and staff make you feel like family. We love open mic, Karaoke on Sat, and trivia on Sunday. The special events are fun and there are events for all. Bring the children this is a family place. Come out and feed the animals. They have food trucks and special dinners. Friday is live music and some of the best local musicians in this area. The Valentine's dinner was first class and so good. We love this place and the people who we have grown to know as family.”

“After hearing a myriad reviews, and walking by this place a few times - we had to give it a try. The place is small, but we didn't have to wait long for seats. Chips & salsa quickly brought out. Ordered a couple of Margaritas, took ~15+ mins to get those. Our chips & salsa were replenished and orders taken.Chile relleno & tacos ordered came pretty quickly. If they had gotten the marg order out quickly, probably would have ordered another round. We had Cadillacs ($16)...a little pricey, but strong. Pick up the service, and this place would get great marks.”

“There is a nice park on the water in Poulsbo where I like to hang out. I can sail into the marina, people watch in the park and browse the cool stuff at Longship Marine. At some point during my visit, I like to walk over to the main street and pop into Hot Shots Java for a 20 ounce latte. On a busy day, the staff is efficient and polite. On a slow day, they are fun to talk with while they brew up a tasty coffee.The tables in the front area are almost always occupied, so I head down the ramp in the back to sit in one of the wicker chairs in the little alcove down there. I have to plug my computer into an extension cord and balance the machine on my lap and put my coffee on one of the small tables besides the chairs. Once I am settled in, I have a nice quiet place to write and sip coffee. I’m not sure why, but this area is unpopular, so I often have it all to myself.Before I can start on my coffee, I have to eat the little chocolate covered coffee bean that is served with every drink. I have mixed feelings about this treat. The flavor is delicious - chocolate and coffee go perfectly together. At first, the texture is nice - soft chocolate with a crunch of coffee bean in the middle. Things go downhill after that - bits of coffee bean stay in my mouth and lodge uncomfortably in the spaces between my teeth.It takes me an hour or so to drink my coffee and finish up the writing task I have set for myself. There is good WiFi, so if I finish work early, I can surf the internet easily. When my coffee is done, I pack up, toss my garbage and head out. If I have done good work, I reward myself by going across the street and getting in line at Sluy’s for a sweet pastry treat. Otherwise, I walk along the shoreline to come up with better ideas for next time.”

They went above and beyond to help me put my Valentine's Day plan into action and create an incredible memorable experience for my wife that I am very grateful for.This year I got a head start on Valentine's Day and set a plan in motion a few weeks back. I reached out to our local Mexican panaderia in Poulsbo, to see if they could help me craft a bouquet of flowers filled with fresh Mexican conchas. If you don't know what a concha is, that's okay. It's a sweet bread that is perfect with coffee. My wife loves them so much she even has earrings of them.Angela at Cake Studios Panaderia, was just as excited as I was to put this idea in motion. The morning of Valentine's Day, I dropped off several bouquets that she and her mom then crafted with freshly made conches tailored to color match from their bakery into this outstanding concha flower arrangement. My wife had no idea what I was bringing back to her and she kept her eyes closed and when she opened them the surprise was fantastic. I'm happy I remembered capture on camera.Thank you Angela and the amazing team at Cake Studio Panaderia Mexicana for making such a delightful Valentine's Day possible.”

Wanted to taste three different entrees so had linguine Bolognese, chicken Marsala and the risotto of the day (mushroom and leaks). Each dish was excellent. Our wait person Rachel was superb and shared some of the recent history of the restaurant. She recommended a great Amaro. Wonderful evening out with my bride.Parking: Close to free public parking.”

Food and atmosphere is PERFECT! if you're ever in the Kingston area and you just get off the ferry...YOU MUST STOP HERE. Besides...you just got here and it's close by. The people here are top notch nice beyond words and the food quality, taste, presentation (if that's a thing at an alehouse) is astounding! DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE DESSERT!!!”
