Ocean Star is a family-friendly restaurant that offers a wide range of options, including spring rolls, noodles, and rice bowls. The staff is known for their kindness and accommodating nature, especially when it comes to dietary restrictions. Gluten-free options are also available, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it an ideal spot for families and friends to create lasting memories.
The restaurant is well known for its delicious Dim Sum dishes, which many customers enjoy. Although the pandemic has changed the way Dim Sum is served—no longer using carts and resulting in longer wait times—the menu now features pictures of every dish, helping guests choose easily. Customers praise the hot and fresh food and friendly staff. The restaurant has a large free parking lot in front, and vegetarian dishes are clearly labeled for those with dietary needs. The menu includes a broad selection of dishes, not just seafood, with a full dim sum menu and regular options that fit American expectations of Cantonese cuisine. Visitors often find the food to be consistently wonderful and satisfying, with many returning over the years as part of family traditions. While some mention that service can be slow, most agree that the staff is friendly and attentive when approached. Top dishes include Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken, sesame balls, green beans, shu mai, and salt and pepper tofu. Overall, Ocean Star remains a popular spot for delicious food and a welcoming environment.
