I stopped into the Wooden Nickel Bar and Grill on College Avenue in downtown Appleton tonight for dinner. Been there many times and never have had a bad experience. Always had nothing but exceptional service from the staff especially the bartender Kristen and every time I am there the owner Tony makes it a point to stop by my chair and thank me for my business. Decided to visit Wooden Nickel Sports Bar & Grill on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm, anticipating it wouldn't be too crowded. However, the service was unexpectedly slow, almost prompting us to consider leaving. With only two staff members on duty, serving both at the bar and tables seemed challenging. Patrons at the bar appeared to receive prompt service, while those at tables experienced delays. Only 2 people working on a Sunday during a packers game. Tsk Tsk. Everything tasted like deep fried fish. The girls did the best they could though. Super slow service and the server was so behind and distressed she pooled all of our tabs together and split em evenly?? This place is better than this.
