“Stopped in yesterday afternoon for a light meal and of course a piece of pie and ice cream. Once again it was all good. Our waitress great. I believe her name was Jennie and was fairly new to the job. She treated my wife and I as if we were old friends , although we had never met before. She is a valuable addition to what makes the Crystal Cafe so great! She will be a very successful asset!”

“A nice quaint little bar in the middle of nowhere. Friendly staff and great food. Located just outside of Iola. If you’re in the area I’d recommend stopping in for lunch. Popular stop for the locals but doesn’t get too busy. Plenty of seating and there’s a pool table. No dart board. Prices are great. Ordered a cheese pizza, cheeseburger, onion rings, chicken tenders basket with potato wedges, a big fish sandwich with chips a bunch or beers and soda. Fed 4 of us and the bill was $80. Would recommend and would come back.”

“Great lunch ! The cheese curds with Thai sauce, and the Rustix cheese bread appetizers were fantastic ! The waygu smash burger and grilled chicken sandwich were both great. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back.”

“Didn't actually get to go in the tavern, I'm guessing it was closed due to Covid, but the surrounding area is very nice. Besides the bridge and water, there were deer, rabbits, peacocks, geese, and pheasants. There is a suspension bridge here that looks like you'd fall in the water trying to cross it, but it is safe. It's a very picturesque area, and well worth visiting.”

“The best pizza we have has in Central Wisconsin! She worked the dough right in front of us and man, it was heaven. sauce was perfectly tangy, not too sweet. All ingredients were super fresh and a lot of them local sourced. We will be back!”

“The homemade pizza my husband and I had last night was soooo AMAZING!!! we are picky on pizza and there was not one thing wrong with it. Plus the drinks were made perfectly, every drink was mixed the same. Great music playing on the TouchTunes while watching the Brewers play. Bartender was awesome and interacts with customers and even plays pool with you when he had a moment. 5 plus stars loved everything.”

“Stopped in for the Friday night fish fry, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the fried perch, and my husband had the broiled cod with the white wine butter sauce. Both meals were outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the best fish fries we've had in quite a while.

The service was excellent as well. The restaurant was packed, so we grabbed seats at the bar. Even though the bartender was incredibly busy, he was attentive, friendly, and always seemed to know when our drinks needed refilling.

We'll definitely be back! If you're in the area on a Friday night, this fish fry is absolutely worth the stop. You won't be disappointed.”
