“This is one of the hidden gem Wisconsin supper clubs. It has amazing fish fry's and chives exceeding the standard cod you find at lost Friday fish fry's. My favorite is the bluegill. My spouse had the cod. Very generous portions and include freshly baked loaf of bread and coke slaw with your choice of several potato options. Very reasonable prices and alcohol available Full bar as well. Excellent service. Never disappointed when I visit Wayside.“
“Took my family here to celebrate her birthday. Edgewater offered a unique experience while maintaining the underpinnings of the traditional Wisconsin super club. She had the corn beef special with mashed potatoes, cabbage, and carrots. The boys each had salmon which they enjoyed and appreciated the natural flavoring. And I had the lamb. The Old Fashions were spot on and I always appreciate a place going Royal Crown cola over the more common options. Our server was friendly and we appreciated him explaining the specials and other menu options. It is worth the trip.“
“2nd time here. Great location on the river, even in winter. Was quiet when we visited but the decor is homely and cosy and the service friendly and efficient. Decent burger but outstanding Bloody Mary. The Glarus beer on tap is stand out. Shame it’s only available in Wisconsin….Parking: Decent amount of spots.“
“We saw the play Beautiful last night didn't know what to expect, but were surprised and really entertained to the fullest. The cast were outstanding and very professional we will tell a lot of people to go to the Fireside Theatre and enjoy the play as we did.“
“Had our food door dashed so I can't speak to the environment but the food was delicious. Their pretzels with beer cheese checked every box for me. I could eat that with anything. Chicken strips could have been seasoned better and there were some tougher pieces of meat but all in all, would give it another shot.“

“Fantastic scratch made reasonable priced diner food... always a line (a good sign), moves fast, though. Everything we've tried has been awesome! They have some of the most peofessional and efficient waitresses you will find. We have only ate in the dining room but plan ti try the diner side sometime soon. Several previous visits and will be back to try more! This is absolutely one of our favorite places to eat and its reasonable prices so we dont need to ration it as only a special treat!Parking: This is a popular place, so a close parking spot would be a stroke of luck, but nothing is too far. “There are several dining establishments in this semi-rural county that I like but this one has a warmth and ambience that can’t be beat anywhere in Southern Wisconsin. The food is not fancy but always good. Today I stopped by for a solo lunch — spicy black bean burger with blue cheese, veggies and chips. There’s always at least one cold brew on tap that rounds out my food experience. Long tables accommodate groups or facilitate making new friends. Most of the time though I’m drawn in the evening for dinner and music. The back room has been known statewide and beyond for decades, as a (somewhat bohemian) destination for audiences and performers. The genre is often folk or singer-songwriter but ranges beyond. We’ll-known artists sometimes have the Carpe on their calendar. Owner/chef/performer Bill Camplin delivers witty introductions for the acts when not performing himself. “The very definition of a hole-in-the-wall greasy-spoon diner. 1. Limited counter seating? Check. 2. Locals-only regulars? Check. 3. Outdated décor? Check. 4. Sassy server? Check. 5. Huge portions? Check. 6. Great food cooked expertly? Check. 7. Absurdly low prices? Check. Setting foot in Scottie's is like stepping back in time...in the best way possible. Finding a seat is pure luck; show up early or be prepared to wait, but know that you will be waiting outside, because there isn't an inch of spare room inside. If you do find a coveted spot, grab it because it won't be there long - and be prepared to rub shoulders and knees with the person next to you. Don't worry; that's all part of the experience. You might not know them when you first arrive, but you'll be best friends by the time you leave. Pro tip: the cook is not Scottie. There is no Scottie anymore. Presumably there was a Scottie once, but his whereabouts are unknown. At least to me. Jackie is amazing. If you've seen "Alice," she is the embodiment of Flo. I'm kinda shocked I haven't heard her tell someone to "Kiss my grits!" yet. She delivers good-natured sass just as frequently as plates of steaming hot food. Again, all part of the experience. Your food is cooked to order in front of you, so you know it's fresh. Even if the place is packed it won't take long, because there are only a handful of seats. And about that food: it's damn good. You can't go wrong with any of the skillets. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. The toast, slathered with melted butter? Heavenly. The pancakes are enormous and awesome. The coffee, hot and delicious. Best of all, when you're handed your check, you will invariably mutter out loud, "That's it?!" The prices are insanely low. They're what you might have paid for breakfast in the 1980s. Two people can easily walk out of there stuffed and only $15 poorer. Tip Jackie well. She deserves it. It may be hot in there. It will definitely be cramped in there. You might see a fly or two. You'll leave smelling like grease. But you will be happy and satisfied and already planning your next visit. Besides, like I said... All part of the experience.“

“We've eaten at some great and some horrible breakfast places. Both of our entrees were really good. I had the crepes and the crepes were thick enough that they didn't fall apart, with fresh blueberries and lots of them and like a massive amount of whipped cream covering them. No syrup needed. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy with poached eggs. He said it was a unique take on a normal dish and it was flavorful. He said it was very yummy, lol. I also had a side of crispy bacon. The server was super friendly, like she treated us like family friendly. It was so refreshing. Prices were reasonable. Definitely give them a try.“

“This is long over due. Our father/father-in-laws favorite thing to do on Friday’s was go to a fish fry. It was difficult for him to walk and the manager and waitress saw this and came to the door to help us get him inside. They seated us immediately and said when we get ready to leave they would let us out the side door where we were parked. Dad had his normal 3 old fashions. He loved fish fry’s but never had fish as he loved shrimp. It wasn’t on the menu for that particular evening but they made him his shrimp. All our food was spectacular. When we got ready to leave they took the screen door off the side door to let us out. We all think you were angels sent to help Dad on his very last fish fry. His health declined and passed away shortly after that. Thank you for making him feel so special on what would be his last time going out to eat. You are all angels in our book and very grateful. “I have yet to have a bad meal at Culver's, and have visited various locations in Southeast Wisconsin for many years. Here and there the service was a little slower than I'd have liked, when they are busy, but Culver's really isn't about "get food in your hands in seconds", it's about let's give the people something worth eating.Generally well-trained and friendly staff.“

We live 2 hours away and will come back as a destination location! Garlic Mashed Potatoes! Amazing! Ruben! Amazing! Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap! Amazing! Chicken Tenders fresh and fabulous!The pours of whiskey are amazing and the beer selection is fantastic! We met two of the owners and their daughter they were some of the most personable people I've ever met. They were totally hands-on owners!They HAVE a HIDDEN GEM upstairs! It's a Whiskey bar tasting room with a patio! The bar area has lounge chairs and a fireplace! The patio is open through a sliding glass door, possibly for cigars?Parking: Free Street parking.Kid-friendliness: This is a bar however the layout allows families with children to sit in a booth seating area away from the main bar.Wheelchair accessibility: This establishment is on the first floor ground level and the entire first floor doesn't have any steps.“
“In my experience, Culver's absolutely never disappoints. We got takeout this time. My personal meal favorite is always the Cod Dinner. But my younger adult son and his family came to visit a couple of weeks ago from the East Coast; and has missed Culver's so much that in the course of one week, they went there four times!“
“I got a full rack of ribs (I took half home for another day). My opinion is that if ribs are actually good, they don't need sauce. These fit that standard. Very good. I like a bit more smoke flavor, but know that can vary quite a bit even with a consistent smoking "plan". Sides were excellent and pretty large portions. I would return the next time I'm in the area.“
