9 Best Irish Pubs in Milwaukee

Champion's Pub Irish Pub • $
2417 N Bartlett Ave, Milwaukee

“Champion's Pub is a quintessential Milwaukee corner bar. It is welcoming, fun, and run by an amazing family and staff. Bobby Greenya and his wife, Maire, beyond being outstanding business owners, are spectacular people. This is a family that helps their community and provides a wonderful location to kick back and relax, enjoy sport's games on TV, or a game of shuffleboard with friends. They go the extra mile to make Champion's an East Side gem. Their St. Patrick's Day celebrations are legendary! Their huge backyard is especially a treat in the summer with kiddie pools to soak your feet in and even outdoor movies, live music and other fun events. Champion's Pub has hosted many of my family's social gatherings and always does a magnificent job. Thank you for being so amazing! We appreciate you more than words can say!“

County Clare Irish Inn & Pub Irish Pub • $$

“This inn is everything you could need. It’s affordable. Walkable to the downtown area and lots of great restaurants. It also has a super cute restaurant and bar on site (get an Irish coffee!) The food is good Irish comfort food and the complimentary omelet bar/breakfast selection hit the spot. And—off street parking is included! The bar has live music a few nights a week and regulars from the neighborhood. It feels like a true Irish pub. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to make your stay great. After recently visiting County Clare in Ireland, I can say the vibes and hospitality are spot on.Rooms: The rooms aren’t huge, but they have everything you need. The beds are comfy and clean.Safety: The area feels very safe, no matter what time of day or night we’ve walked to, and from the end, I see folks from the neighborhood walking their dogs which is generally just good vibes and makes you feel safeWalkability: About a 20 minute walk to places like the Pabst theater and riverwalk area.Food & drinks: Yummy and affordable food and drink.Noteworthy details: A perfectly authentic Irish, pub and inn. “A fun, eclectic, neighborhood bar with good food. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and started with the mussels. Wow! We ate every last one and all of the bread. I honestly thought about drinking the broth...so good! I didn't want anything fried so I opted for the Blackened Grouper --it was perfectly seasoned; not too hot and really well balanced. My husband had the Baked Cod and potato pancakes--he cleaned his plate. We both really enjoyed our food and the service. Carrie was behind the bar/serving. She was inviting, funny, knowledgeable and I was even more impressed as regulars started to roll in- she seemed to know everyone, what they liked and how they wanted it.“

Paddy's Pub Irish Pub • $
2339 N Murray Ave, Milwaukee

“Patty's Pub is somewhere between an urban legend and a hidden gem. Most people only go there on St. Patrick's day and don't really remember it.The entrance is through a hallways patio to get to basically a big, odd house. The bar is on the left and there's a room that goes to another room on the right. The upstairs (open rarely) is similar. The bar also leads to the back of the patio. The patio is big. People were grilling and having a buffet. There's also tables on the other side of the giant fountain. There lots of plants but if you look close half of them are plastic. They have typical dive bar beer and regular drinks. It's a fun place to go. The staff is mostly older and unphased by anything.“

The bartender was a breath of fresh air after some of the others we had encountered in the area that day- she was very welcoming, warm, and attentive to everyone that entered. She recommended some very tasty food (first time having cream cheese on pizza!) and was super friendly. The Reuben Rolls were also delicious. Would definitely recommend!“
