The summer activities at the pool are wonderful, and the staff is always courteous and prompt with concerns or questions we have. We also enjoy eating at The Pines restaurant too. the fish fries are delicious.“

The pork shank is the play, full stop, falls apart the way it should and isn't dressed up to hide anything. Wine list is deeper than you'd expect for a golf destination in the middle of Wisconsin, real thought put into it rather than a handful of safe bottles. Atmosphere fits the whole property, low key but dialed in, the kind of place where you can talk through the day's rounds without feeling rushed out for the next table. After a long day at one of the resorts 6 golf courses, this is the dinner that puts a stamp on the trip. Aldo's makes sure the day doesn't end when the round does.“

“Mammoth Bar is the hub for a reason. Central to the whole resort, it's where every group ends up whether you planned it or not. Cheese curds to start, then a burger and a drink is about as straightforward and correct a call as you can make after a full day walking the courses. Nothing overworked on the menu, it doesn't need to be, the food does its job so the conversation about the day's rounds can take over. The outdoor patio with the fire pit is where the night actually happens though. That's where groups gather after dinner for another cocktail and the round gets replayed hole by hole, the good shots get bigger and the bad ones get funnier with every retelling. Sand Valley put real thought into giving golfers a place to land after the flag comes out of the last hole. Mammoth Bar is that place.“

“This was a fantastic place to grab a drink and a bite!!! While we didn’t use their beach it looked wonderful and others were enjoying it. We rented a pontoon for 3.5 hours and it was reasonably priced and Dan set us up and got us going easily. The boat was great and the service from Dan and Sabrina was stellar! Also, the tater kegs were delicious!!“

“We moved to Wisconsin Rapids about a year ago and have been disappointed with the quality of the Culvers. We came from a city with 3 different Culvers, all of which offered consistently good food and service. Wisconsin Rapids...not so much. But, since options are limited in WR, we've patronized the restaurant despite the somewhat substandard experience. Tonight's experience was by far the worst, though. We pulled in to the drive-thru just after 9 pm and my partner placed an order for a cod sandwich basket, a grilled cheese, and soup. The cashier read our order back to us, we agreed that everything was correct, and we pulled up to the window. It took a REALLY LONG TIME for her to ring us up. Weird, but she didn't ask any questions or say anything, so we didn't think too much about it. (In retrospect, we realized she never told us the total or offered a receipt.) She put a number on our window and we pulled ahead. After a fairly long wait, considering that there were no cars ahead of us or behind us, someone brought our food out. Normally, they say, "Did you have the pot roast and the cheeseburger?" But this person said, "Number 60?" We looked at the number stuck to our mirror, which was, in fact, #60, so we said "Yes." The person handed us 2 bags of food, plus a tray with a shake and ice cream. I thought it was weird, but I had been on my phone when my partner ordered, so I couldn't remember/didn't know what he ordered. When we were about halfway home, he said, "Wait. Did you order a shake and ice cream? I can't remember." Realization dawned on us. I looked at the ticket on the bag, and it was in fact #60 - the number that had been stuck to our car - but the ticket had no resemblance to our order. Not one thing was the same. It was for three double cheeseburgers, plus ice cream, plus cheese curds, plus a shake. But, it was late and we were almost home, so we just decided to deal with it. Unfortunately, we can't check my partner's debit card to see if he was charged for the wrong order (which would be way more expensive than what we actually ordered). He changed phone numbers ages ago and can't get into his bank account since he can't get texted a code to log in. (Grrrrrrr.) But, I'm guessing that since we were handed that number by the cashier, we also paid for that order. What I really can't figure out is where that order came from since there was literally nobody ahead of us OR behind us. What the hell? Disappointing experience all around. Despite the lack of options in Rapids, we won't be going back.“

“My family used to come here frequently for breakfast after church. The food and service were always great. Not sure how it looks now, a couple years later, but it was always dingy and dirty looking inside. However, for Wisconsin Rapids, this is actually a top tier restaurant.“

“I love the nostalgic feel and the prices are excellent for higher quality fast food. I especially love the deep fried pickles! There's usually younger kids working there as well who are learning the ropes of customer service and food service and they do great!“

You could tell it had been microwaved too long. It had definitely become an Elly Mae Biscuit. Note to the cook: Reheating biscuits too long makes them rock hard.“
