“Having frequented this establishment Many years ago when it was one of Milwaukee‘s most beloved watering holes I was excited to try its new iteration as the waddle inn. My first indication I was in the right place was the beautiful and expansive Bar. My choice was further confirmed with a courteous and friendly bartender who immediately made me a wonderful espresso martini and gave me a few recommendations for dinner. I opted for the steak and Frites And can say it was one of the best I have had in the city I was blown away pleasantly surprised, and I will be coming back for a char grilled burger soon. Keep up the great work Waddle Inn!“

“We had a buffet lunch at Bullwinkle’s May 2, 2025, to celebrate my wife’s life. There were about 60 guests. Everything was excellent! It was more than expected. The food choices were great and the meal was outstanding. Management and staff treated us like members of their own families. They were not intrusive or hovering and provided loving care for this special occasion. They even allowed us to bring specialty desserts, for which they provided plates, utensils and carry-out containers. It was very reasonably priced. “Absolutely amazing, all around! Food, service, everything. Shrimp sweet and delicious. Scallops silky soft and smooth, seared great and so tasty! Bacon wrapped asparagus is killer good. Prime rib sandwich is pillow soft, so flavorful and satisfying. Great garlic and herb butter seasoning on everything. I had a nasty respiratory infection a couple months prior, hadn't been able to taste much of anything for over two months... until coming here. I could taste the amazing flavor cooked into all of our items for the first time since getting sick. This was probably about the most satisfying dining experience I've ever had. The meal provided a satisfying experience, with a few small areas that could be improved, but overall, a good choice if you're craving a pleasant fish fry. Options for the Fish Fry: Friday Fish Fry – $12.95 for 3 pieces of cod (fried, baked, or blackened), served with coleslaw, buttered marble rye, lemon, tartar sauce, and a choice of fries, potato pancakes (2), or Soup of the Day. Additional cod is $2.95, and tartar sauce is $0.50. Apple sauce or maple syrup available by request. Shrimp Fry – $13.95 for 8 crispy butterflied shrimp, coleslaw, buttered marble rye, lemon, cocktail sauce, and a choice of fries, potato pancakes (2), or Soup of the Day. Additional shrimp is $4.95, and cocktail sauce is $0.50. Apple sauce or maple syrup available by request. In addition to the fish fry options, there was a Side of Potato Pancakes for $3.95, and the Soup of the Day was clam chowder—available in cup ($3.95), bowl ($4.95), or quart to-go ($11.95). The Meal: I went solo this time and started with a cup of clam chowder, followed by the Friday Fish Fry—fried cod with fries. Clam Chowder: While the clam chowder wasn’t the most exciting, it was still decent. It was missing a few of the key ingredients I typically love in chowder, like salted pork, onions, and celery. The texture wasn’t as creamy as I’d prefer, and the potatoes were a bit mushy, but the flavor itself was satisfying enough. It was a nice way to start the meal Fish Fry: The fried cod was pleasant. It was thinly battered and not greasy. The fries were the standard kind you’d expect—nothing fancy, but good. Honestly, I’d go for the potato pancakes next time, as I think they’d complement the fish better than fries. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy, providing a nice contrast to the crispy fish. Shrimp Fry: The Shrimp Fry ($13.95) caught my eye as well, and from the looks of it, it was a solid choice for shrimp lovers. It comes with 8 crispy butterflied shrimp, which are golden and perfectly fried—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The shrimp are served with cocktail sauce for dipping, and the same sides as the fish fry (coleslaw, buttered marble rye, fries or pancakes). I didn’t try the shrimp this time, but the plate looked well-balanced and a great alternative to the fish. Overall Value: The total for my meal came to $25.21 including tip, which included the cup of clam chowder, the fish fry, and a coke. I felt the price was fair for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. Plus, the service was friendly and attentive, making the experience enjoyable. Final Thoughts: Overall, Dale Z’s On Tour offers a solid fish fry with good value and friendly service. While the chowder wasn’t my favorite and the fries were standard, the fish was pleasant, and the shrimp fry is a great option if you’re in the mood for another seafood option. If you're in the Milwaukee area and looking for a reliable fish fry, Dale Z’s is definitely worth a stop. I will make sure to try the potato pancakes next time!“

While the servers are usually friendly, getting someone to actually come to your table to help you is pretty difficult and can be a little annoying. Also has great trivia on Wednesdays. “We stopped here as we were spending some time downtown Milwaukee. We walked by and wanted to try it. I had a black and blue burger. It was really tasty, but I didin't get a lot of blackened with it. Still, it was really good if you like that kind of thing. My wife had a cob salad and enjoyed it to the last bite. We also had and order of a cheese curds. I can say they did those right, they were amazing.

My one complaint is they find ways to add all kinds of charges. You want ranch you are going to pay extra. You want to use a credit card, you are going to pay a few. When you are paying $9.00 for a basket of fries, you would think they could throw in a little ranch.
